Mystery Trackers: Train to Hellswich is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from another good game in the series i saw some lesser stars in the reviews but i liked it. there is a custom level and a great hint system. you are a detective planning on taking a vacation but on the train that you are taking to where you are going to your vacation destination something starts happening on the train and a girl is kidnapped by 2 strange creatures and her father tells you that she is his daughter and has special pyrotechnic abilities and that is why they were on the train to move some where that no one knew them. well, you get on the case to find her and encounter these strange creatures. i really liked this game even those others didn't not give an overwhelming high rating. a sequel. it is a mystery trackers game....there is always a sequel!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Astonishing! The serie's "Mystery Trackers" already has a lot of games and for me it is astonishingly, how a serie such old can still bring about such fascinating and entertaining games as this one. For me it is one of the best of the whole serie's. I enjoyed playing it very much. I did love the story, which made me go on to find out, who is after all this and i loved the graphics, especially in the train and at the house and i did really enjoy the music as well. This to me is just a perfect game. Therefore: thanks, developers!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from allisgr1 I thought this was a pretty good game . The premise of the game was a little far fetched though. Good graphics, good challenge especially if your playing expert. I purchased the game on a 2.99 special ! excellent value!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT game, but way too short Loved this game, especially the artwork, which is gorgeous. It's fun being on a train with interiors from a luxe hotel. The game goes by quickly, but alas, game is too short. Elf the chihuahua is very helpful and wears a loud Hawaiian shirt, too cute. Wish it could have been longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from STILL LOVE ELF! One of my favorites, Mystery Trackers is far removed from older games. Would suggest playing them with high recommendation. Elf keeps me coming back for more. Please bring back the charm of previous games. How is that so impossible? I think the lack of ratings says it all. Enjoy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as bad as I had been led to believe... I had heard some bad reviews about this one, so was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. Although it did feel a little short, but that's not the worse that can happen, I guess. This is nowhere near the classic Mystery Trackers fare, but definitely tonnes better than the last one, Winterpoint!! If you hated that one (like me), give this a go, it will restore your faith, a little.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanted to love it - but First, I have to say I love this series. I have them all. This installment was not very good. It was SHORT [less than 2 hours]. And I played slow. I bought the SE and glad I did not spend the extra money on the CE. The story line had a lot of potential but never went anywhere. It was as if the creators were just tired of this series. The graphics / design were very good no complaints there. I was ready for another Elf detective adventure and this was not to be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from If I am on vacation, why do I have a dossier on missing children? Penmom63 says it all. The Mystery trackers Devos need to up their game. It wasn`t so bad, but not that good. You are supposedly on vacation on a train, when your collegue says something is wrong, you of course investigate and find several 'creatures' destroying doors (icing them up, melting them, etc.) and kidnapping several children. I only played the demo so this is what I found: several HO scenes, one: obtain several objects of the same, such as 2 horseshoes, 2 medal, etc. another was find the items. There was one supposedly HO scene (it had sparkles, so I assumed it was a HO scene) but you had to apply fist aid to an injured father, and had to do it in a specific order. There was about 5 different puzzles and 2 were a match game where you needed to obtain 20 sets of 3 different items, such as lightning bolts, plugs, etc. This was too easy, as there wasn`t any sort of time frame or diffulcty.(?) Can`t seem to spell today. Other(s), one was turn a wheel and set a course for a train to travel on. Another was make matches with same color train on triangles, and you have to rotate the triangles and I really don`t like those kinds of puzzles, so I tried and then just skipped that one. I know, I complain about games being to easy, but I just dislike those rotating triangles, so , whatever. There was 4 types of game mode, I did the custom (or detective mode) and adjusted the skip and HO penalty modes. Music was ok. Didn`t really notice it that much. You get a jump map right off the bat, and that helps, you have to do some stuff (as usually) to free Elf and he does help you. Try before you buy and maybe it will be your cup of tea, but I might just wait until it becomes a DD. It`s not a bad game and goes with the rest of the Mystery Trackers group, but not my cup of tea. If you buy say hello to Elf, as he is still around to help out.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Think it's time to go back to the drawing board with this series. BASED ON THE DEMO OF COLLECTOR'S EDITION I really wanted to like this game. I have several of the previous ones in the series. I have purchased more than 250 games here at Felix's playground and Elephant games are some of my favorite ones of all time. But, I sincerely feel that the storyline and level of creativity where this series is concerned has reached a low peak. There is a lot of back and forth to complete tasks and to gather items. Some of those make very little sense. Elf is always present and is probably one of the best features of this game. Mini-games had very little challenge to them, tasks were at times predictable and, at others, seemed to be designed to just fill time. I'll always be among the first to try new games in this series. I just hope that they go back to the drawing board, replay the early games, and get back to the former glory. It's not a bad game, just not up to the "Mystery Trackers" standards. As always, try the demo. My opinion is just that.....my opinion! While I will continue to recommend the Mystery Trackers series, and always the Elephant gang of developers, this one will not be going onto my "wish list".

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What Happened to this Series! This is posted after playing the entire game. Yes, even with the mediocre reviews and playing the demo, I bought it. Guess I'm a sucker for a sale. It was an okay game. Nothing to write home about, but it passed a few hours of time. Wasn't the most involving game, but not the worse I've played either. I do believe I have every game in this series, and this one will go down as my least favorite. Perhaps the developers are tiring of the theme. I hate to see the series end, but if they can't do better on the next one, perhaps it is time to retire it. The graphics were very good and the sound, including voice overs, were excellent. Really liked the music. Colors were bright and pleasant. Nothing really new in the hidden objects or mini games. Hidden object games were well done. Some were well hidden which caused a few minutes of hunting to find. It did seem like there were a lot of silhouettes, my least favorite or it could be my dislike for them made it seem like there were more. Mini games were mini games. Not my favorite, but I did complete several of them. The story never did grab me like some do. Perhaps it was the supernatural aspect that turned me off. As so many have mentioned this theme is getting really old, and maybe that's why I did't care for it, but I wasn't sad to see it end. As I said, this is an okay game. Give the demo a try and perhaps it will be right up your alley. It missed my street, but I'm just one person. Happy gaming.
