Witchcraft: Pandora's Box is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Could have been really good Was really enjoying playing this old fashioned game but there is a glitch in the programme that on checking many many other players seem to come across is so much that the game freezes part way through when a rune is needed to be collected to progress and nothing I tried to do i.e. uninstalling and reinstalling etc seems to resolve. I can only hope that the makers sort out this glitch and do a fix so we that have paid for it can play the rest of the game. In the meantime can only abandon and uninstall. I have given the game 4 stars as up until I came across the glitch I was engrossed in it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Short Game Based on all of it. I was different in some ways, lots of puzzles not that challenging. You draw runes about 20 times. I bought it because I liked the different settings and design. But the animation is poor and story is non existent. Game play jumped all over, you need the map, it was very simplistic and very, very short. Played in in 3 hours start to finish. All seemed a bit pointless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I LOVED THE CHALLENGE BUT THE CONS OUTWEIGH THE PROS I took this journey, after opening up Pandora's box. I chased the evil Crow Witch through three different portals, of past, present and future. My journey came to an end however when a glitch (that several players experienced) prevented me from progressing. The graphics are about as basic as basic gets. There are no voiceovers, but there isn't a ton of dialog to bog it down either. The HOP's are basic listed items with slight interactions, and the mini games are pretty easy to solve. It may sound like this is a horrible game, and yet...... I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the game. It doesn't have those obvious tasks, you know the ones, use this item here, find that item there, run back and forth placing hundreds of emblems, finding 500 different keys, and searching for doorknobs that are missing from every door, drawer and cabinet ever made. Everything was going great, until it wasn't. Towards the end of the demo I found myself unable to select the rune I needed to give to my little Lilliputian helper that I just rescued from the clutches of the evil witch. I searched walkthroughs, only to confirm I had done everything correctly, and visited the forums, where I discovered that several other gamers were having the same exact issue. Obviously some people were able to get past this point, so I will use a PCC to purchase the game, and redownload the game using a different profile to see if I can work through the issue. Bottom line is, if you can overlook oldschool graphics and the game works in its entirety, I think you'll find the game to have just enough challenge to keep your interest. Enjoy, hopefully!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Here We Go Again Based on Demo... Yet another "child snatched by someone evil" story. The graphics were bright and clear, but cartoony. I always play with the sound off, so I can't comment on VO's or atmosphere. I liked the interactive HOS, but was left floundering as regards actions needed, and had to rely on the Hint button too much. There is a rune stone tablet which you have to recharge every time you use it by tracing a pattern of lines. I hate this type of repetitive puzzle. I also hate the Simon Says type of puzzle encountered in a mini-game here. I feel like I've played this story one too many times, and seen much better versions.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 1½ stars...Some interesting ideas, but too simple and repetitive. SUMMARY…I'm afraid I didn't last through the demo, but quit after the second jigsaw puzzle. The fact that another puzzle was a matching pairs contributed to my quitting. HO scenes were simple interactive lists, and puzzles were repetitive and too easy. I didn't mind the lack of voiceovers, but there should have been better environmental sounds to make up for it. It was just too silent. The graphics were a bizarre blend of hyper-realistic, painterly, and cartoonish. The storyline was pro forma: your daughter is kidnapped by an evil witch who steals the energy of others to bring back her youth. I did like the changeable portal that led to three different places, depending upon how you set the controls, but that bit of creativity couldn't override the lack of creativity elsewhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Crazy About This One Didn't care for this one but I did finish it. Too old school for me, I guess. Following the lines in the runes got really old and boring. I really don't recommend this one for players who play in expert mode.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Waste Of Money And Time Storyline predictable, God Awful in terms of fun, level of challenge, long navigation, and no voice acting to bring its characters to life whatsoever.
