Mystery Case Files: The Revenant's Hunt is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh Yeah! A really good game with a couple of those "Rube Goldberg" type puzzles, although I see they've made these a little easier than in the past. Still a good game with a few challenges that had me stumped for a little while. I would really like to suggest that people do NOT review games from just the demo alone. So many of these games get better as you go. Don't buy them if you don't like the demo, but also please don't review them. It's not fair to the other players OR the developers, who work pretty hard on these. I know we all get a little tired of valves, scissors, knives, ropes, etc., but these are common items used every day, so it makes sense to include at least some of them. Okay, I'll get off my soap box now. Happy gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I couldn't stop playing!! I have played all the MCF games, and this one is up there with the greats. The story line follows local folk story, the graphics are amazing and the music is good but not intrusive. Some puzzles are good, some very challenging (for me anyway!) I was pleased to see there are several of the complex MCF multi-layer puzzles in there too. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys this genre, and also to beginners who like a good storyline and challenging puzzles. It's a pleasant change to play something a little more up to date than witches and forests! Watch out, you will be hooked!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crime and Punishment There is no escape from a crime committed in former years. Alvin is back from the dead to revenge it and punish those responsible. The Master Detective has to find the connection behind the murders and to protect the one who is likely to be the next victim. Nowadays I play MCF with bare feet, as my socks get blown off. This game made me jumping off from my seat again and again. Then I had to be picked up from the floor, where I’ve been rolling over with laughter. The story is great, gameplay fantastic. A lot of attention to details, references to former MCF games, and so much humour! Hidden Object scenes were super well done, offered a lot of variety. My favourite one was in the Trophy Room, just a pity not all the trophies were labelled. I enjoyed most of the puzzles, I also enjoyed skipping those I didn’t like and getting an achievement for doing so. I bought, played, enjoyed and loved (most) of the Collectors Edition of the game. For me the Bonus Chapter did not have the same quality as the main game, although I enjoyed „Kicking Leaves“, a collectible, very much. So refreshing to encounter a collectible above cards, puzzle pieces or the like. My expectations which were probably too high after the main game. Enjoy the Standard Version, an absolutely brilliant game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice chance of pace... The story was good as it was different from my normal game play. I loved the amount of interaction this game has, but I wish it would wait for to select continue before going on? Over all I really did enjoy the game and I would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great puzzles and good graphics I love the puzzles. Most are a bit easy but on occasion you reach one that makes you think. Hidden object scenes are somewhat boring, but then again I do not care for HOP. Story is kinda stupid. Still--puzzles! Play for the puzzles and eye candy! A step above most of the other hidden object adventure games, and a steal at this price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoroughly enjoyable MCF installment I just finished the SE and am kicking myself for not buying the CE. What a great game! A decent plot (usually the plots in this genre (not MCF) are stupid), no wizards, evil kings, dragons. The game has gorgeous graphics, fun HOs and MGs. The narration was great, I even paused my game play to listen! I was even able to tolerate the music. A little on the short side. Unlike nadaze2da, I was able to complete all the three-part puzzles without use of the WT and found the instructions 100% adequate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from one of the shortest MCF i can remember playing it is still good, even though it is shorter than i expected it to be. you are looking for the revenant and it is a surprise when you find out. the revenant is known to come looking for the ones responsible for his death.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exciting HO game with light weaknesses in story "Mystery Case files: The Revenant's Hunt" is the 16th part in long history of mystery case files. The Game Series has always made history - in 2005, the classic HO adventure started with "Huntsville". In "Mystery Case Files: The Revenant's Hunt" the case is a murder victim that raises from his grave. Is it about revenge? Does this all really happen ? This is the story behind the game "Mystery Case Files: The Covenant's hunt" The game is a classic hidden object puzzle adventure (HOPA) game. It is divided into 6 chapters, well suited to the story that are very nicely drawn up In "Mystery Case Files: The Revenant's Hunt" there are beautiful mini games - some new and rare or never seen. The mini games can also be exceeded after a certain time. Mostly, the mini games also match the story and bring a change. The HO scenes in themselves are diverse and varied. Mostly searching for text but there are also looking for picture and silhouette. Some are interactive - put back, etc... The soundtrack is a matter of taste. It fits the game very well, but it's not particularly worth mentioning, but I didn't like it very much. The game has a weakness in the story. Unfortunately, it doesn't find itself good in the scenes and again you have to be careful that the red thread doesn't get lost. Summary: Exciting ho game with light weaknesses in story If you'd like to see more games reviews, find me on Faceboos as "Hidden-Casuals"

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Will we ever get better instructions for puzzles? There are several three part puzzles in this game which have very poor instructions for playing them. Even after referring to a walkthrough, I was unable to figure parts of them out. Poor instructions can cause the game to be much more tedious and less fun than it should be. Is it too much to ask that the instructions be clearly stated? The only other complaint I have is the length as it is short. According to Merriam Webster, a revenant is one who returns especially one who returns from the grave. In this story revenge has brought the Revenant back and he sets out on a killing spree. The story sounds ominous and it is but there are bits of humor tucked away in the game too. MCF may have a strange sense of humor to some. I expected the Cemetery Keeper to have a sinister voice, instead its soothing. He gives you a raven that is his eyes and ears (literally) to help you in your quest. As a supernatural detective, you must stop The Revenant. The story, graphics, voice overs and hidden object scenes are very well done. IMHO this is a good game but not a 5 star game. Perhaps if the puzzles had better instructions, I would have given it 5 stars. I do suggest you get the demo because I believe that after playing it you will want to have it.
