Rated 5 out of 5 by from I DRAGGED MY FEET ON PLAYING THIS GAME, BOY WAS THAT A MISTAKE! When I saw the icon for this Match 3 game a few days ago, it wasn't very appealing so I was in no rush to play it. There have been so many cartoon-style Match 3 games being released by one dev in particular, that I thought it was just another version of their M3 games. Last night I was bored so I started playing it, and man was I wrong! Magnussoft has had a few good Match 3's lately, but Wizard's Quest has risen above all with stunning graphics, vibrant and interesting tiles with adorable frogs, purple and white toadstools, crystal balls, bright red apples etc. and with every new level, it seems they introduce an even better icon. You can play the Swap type M3 in a Relaxed, Normal or Hard difficulty mode, and you can choose the graphics resolution and quality. I chose the Highest Quality setting and the graphics were amazingly crystal clear and detailed, which I'm sure won't be an option for some older computers because it may cause a slow performance. There are 3 Cursor styles to choose from as well. There are 35 Achievements to earn, most of which have 3 categories within. In this particular M3 game, the achievements are a key component because you have to earn specific achievements to purchase items to build the Kingdom, which in turn allows you to progress. You also need to score a specific number of Points or Stars to purchase the upgrades of the Kingdom. The goal for most levels is to clear all cells by making matches upon them, and I was pleasantly surprised that the cells were bright red, and some cells are triple-layered requiring 3 matches to remove them. There are a few levels that require you to collect a specific number of resources such as stone or diamonds, so those levels won't have cells to break through. If you break all the layered cells and complete the level within the time frame allotted, you will earn 3 Stars for a Perfect Score. You cannot replay the levels, what you get is what you get even if you don't earn a single star, however, I work around this scenario by keeping my eye on the Star Meter on the bottom left. If I lose a Star on the Meter, I just click the Pause button which pulls up a window that will allow you to replay the level. So if you're like me and have to play until you get all 3 stars, all you have to do is replay the level as soon as the star is deducted, but if you run out of time, this scenario won't work so keep your eye on the meter. I have to give Magnussoft kudos for "out-of-the-box thinking" where the Obstacles are concerned, my favorite being the ooey, gooey, sticky, green Slime that covers some of the cells, it even looks like it's oozing out and dripping all over the cells beneath them! There are also cells that are flooded with water, tiles that are frozen beneath the ice etc, and it just fits this game to the tee. When you make matches of 4 or more tiles, Potions will appear on the board, the larger the match, the stronger the Potion, the bigger the explosion becomes. You will want to use these potions as often as you can because this will help you earn those ever-so-important achievements I mentioned earlier. The bottom line here is that if you are looking for a fun Match 3 game with a different vibe, and has amazing and colorful graphics, then you really need to check this game out. I judged this game solely by the icon shown here on BF, which just goes to show you that you can't judge a good match 3 game by its cover icon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun and interesting I am not a big player of match 3 games but do try them from time to time. This one had me hooked from the beginning. Cute story line, interesting play, different levels of difficulty, lots of "other" stuff to do besides just match 3. Try it I think you will enjoy it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fun, relaxing match-3 game I enjoyed playing the demo, will probably buy the game. It's colorful, has a cute (sometimes funny!) story, fun ideas - a new match-3 game from Magnussoft. I'm sure the game play will become more challenging as I move up the levels. There are 3 kinds of difficulty, so something for everyone. Unfortunately, the music became annoying very quickly - but I'm certain everybody knows how to adjust their PC volume.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "Relaxed" Mode still limits time - Not Good for the Fun Factor Review based solely on Demo. I usually love games from this developer, but on this one, I seem to have a different concept of what a "Relaxed" Mode should be. When I see "Relaxed" as an option for the playing modes, I think of unlimited moves and time. I play games like this to relieve stress, not increase it. I think options for limited moves and/or time are wonderful for those who wish to play that way, but a "Relaxed" mode should remove those constraints. With this game, you still have a timer to beat and although there was no problem in the levels I played in the demo, I will not be purchasing this game because I want no timer to contend with as the challenges become more difficult in higher levels. The story is imaginative and fun and the music is bright and appropriate. The graphics are clear, simple and bright. There are good explanations and instructions. The dialogue is short, helpful and printed. Actual gameplay was smooth and easy. There is a nice sense of achievement as you earn the necessary resources to build and upgrade structures for the town. If the "Relaxed" mode was truly relaxed, I would have given this five stars and purchased it at the end of the demo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much like a clone of another This game is a clone like copy of the game released last month "Legend of Egypt..Pharoah's Garden" by the same developer There is nothing really wrong with the game and the graphics are quite pleasant. The only difference is in this game there are magic style tiles instead of Egyptian ones. You will get to choose blind from the fortune teller if you get a "perfect' wheras it was choosing a from lotus flowers in the other The pace of the game and the huge amount of levels you need to play to move forward to do your "building" get boring and tired after a while and become quite like completing a chore. I didn't even finish the Egyptian game. I guess its a "value for money" game with plenty of levels. Its ok, but nothing new here at all,

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me I thought this to me was just another standard match 3 , nothing like the class of Lauraville etc.As I am always saying we all have different views so some will like, some will not.Yes you have 3 modes but the relaxed mode is not what I would call relaxed, time still runs out and I would imagine once you get further into the game you will probably run out of time which is not for me also I hate hogs and the first thing we get is a hog, yuk, so that put me in the wrong frame of mind. Not for me I am afraid

Rated 2 out of 5 by from kind of boring I have been playing for an hour and mostly it is just match 3 levels over and over. Nothing much seems to change. Once in a great while you get to build something. After the first hour I have to say it is rather boring. Mini games, battles, something anything to break up the repetitive levels would be good. At the very beginning there was a hidden object scene and I guess I expected there would be more mini games. Maybe there are but if it is only one every hour or so of game play this is not for me.
