Customer Reviews
World's Greatest Cities Mosaics 8 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Upside down The finished picture of the 'multiple colors' is shown upside down. While this doesn't effect the game play, it's just irritating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NO TROUBLE STAYING FOCUSED I had no trouble staying focused while playing this game. The variety of puzzles and levels of difficulty provide lots of different options for game play. All the games in this series start out easy, but get more difficult the longer you play. I am not going into any detail about the game as another reviewer has provided that level of information. I will say that I am definitely adding this game to my collection of this series. I highly recommend this game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Released with a serious bug I don't believe Pennmom36 mentioned this, so either I missed it or she didn't run into this problem. When I played the demo, the first column was almost entirely covered with a brown strip. It made it very difficult to play the game. I buy every one of these games, but this one is a nonstarter because of that flaw. I love this developer, and they put out a lot of mosaic games, but it's their Pixel Art games I wish they'd make more of.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from THE PUZZLES ARE RATHER EASY AND I GOT REALLY BORED I love solving puzzles of just about any kind, and I especially love Mosaic puzzles as long as they are solved logically rather than making you guess or use a bonus of some kind. I usually enjoy World's Greatest Cities/Places Mosaic games, so I figured this one would fit the bill as well. After solving several puzzles my mind began to wander, and I had to keep trying to focus on the puzzle, so I figured I was just distracted and I quit the game, determined to revisit it a little later. The following day I tried again and realized they were really easy to solve and didn't require a lot of thought. By the time I finished the demo, I had no desire to purchase the game even though the demo ended mid-puzzle as usual. I play Mosaics for relaxation, but at the same time, I still want a little bit of challenge, so my opinion of this game is just a personal preference and others may very well love it. The main feature of this series is that they take you to the World's Greatest Cities and tell you some interesting facts about the city you are visiting. You can play in a Casual, Normal or Expert difficulty mode, or you can customize the difficulty mode by choosing if you want to play in a timed mode, if you want bonus points as a time bonus, whether you want numbers crossed off one by one or only when the entire row has been completed, and you can set the number of mistakes allowed from 1-5 and how long it takes for the hint feature to recharge from 30-120 seconds. The controversial Segment Length Checker feature has returned. You can turn it on or off, but when it's on, it shows you how many cells there are in both the column and row (with directional arrows so you won't get confused) some reviewers loved it, others hated it on game number 7, but you don't want the intrusiveness, you can always turn it off. There are 3 different types of Mosaics offered in this version: *Traditional (multi-colored) which has different colors to switch between to help you solve the puzzle. In some of the puzzles, some sections may be locked, requiring you to complete a different color to unlock those sections. *Mystery Lands which fills in each cell with 3 different kinds of pictures that when complete forms a beautiful scene, often with swimming fish, turtles, boats and even ants and bugs crawling around on the lawn. *Labyrinth Game is similar to Mystery Lands, but after completing the puzzle, you guide a ball through the maze from point A to B by clicking on intersections of the maze. The filled-in cells on some of the Mystery Lands and Labyrinth style mosaics are very similar and it can make it difficult at times to tell where one color left off and the other begins, and it's easy to make a mistake. You can choose between 10 different Tilesets, but I didn't notice any new features this time around.
