Lost Lands: Redemption Collector's Edition is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 72.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long game, great puzzles Based on the full game: I'd give this a big thumbs up. This is another game in the Lost Lands games (I've played them all and liked them all) and think it's one of the better ones. There are some puzzles that will take a LONG time and some that are not as difficult. This is not the run of the mill HOP. I'd say it leans toward a puzzle game with HOPs (if that helps). There is a great map that you will need to use since there are a couple of times where you absolutely need it. The strategy guide is not as helpful as I'd like to see as they don't explain a lot of the puzzles. One of the guys that has videos on YouTube just skipped one or two of the puzzles because he couldn't figure them out. Not helpful! But another video is out there showing the solution. Keep looking because you might need it. Good luck and happy gaming

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the Puzzle Solver The standout to me are the many puzzles in this game, most requiring some thought, some a lot of thought, and some a walk in the park. It's one of those you'll feel proud of yourself if you can complete them all without any hints or skips. The boy character is kind'a whiny and the mouths are minimally animated, looks kind'of bizarre not moving accurately at all with the voice audio. That being said it's a visually fascinating game. It's going into my list of favorites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DID MY FAVORITE DEVELOPER SNEAK IN A TEASER OF WHAT'S TO COME??? Completed Game approximately 8.0 Hours (including completion of all puzzles & Bonus Chapter 30 Scene Locations +12 CE Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Intermediate-Expert (& a great way to cut your teeth for beginners) Susan has been summoned to the Lost Lands once again, but this voyage stirs emotions of inner turmoil as she struggles to balance life in the Lost Lands as a Warmaiden, and life on Earth as a mother and wife. Neither life will matter, however, if Susan doesn't choose Maaron over Jimmy because Drak UL's heart has been uncovered on Earth and must be returned to the Lost Lands for safe-keeping. If the heart falls into the wrong hands, both worlds could be destroyed if Drak Ul the giants' heart and soul are reunited. I know most of us don't think about what goes on behind the scenes, and I'm not even sure the developers realize that they are light-years ahead of all others. Pay attention to the details folks, look at the graphics, the characters movement animations (okay, disregard a few creepy eyelid movements or creepy sign-language flitter fingers) Think about the work that went into creating those incredible morphs & interactive collectibles. (and think about the incredible price point for all that work!) Pay attention to the surroundings, the realistic atmosphere, and the realistic interactive tasks. These devs have been to Mars and back folks, they have looped around other galaxies several times, while others can only manage to come up with smoking out hundreds of beehives, placing a gazillion emblems, spirals & symbols, sticky note hints plastered everywhere/no grey matter required, and allowing players to click on a few neon-green lamps! (think about it) THIS is why this developer is my Number One all-time favorite developer, they know how to put the HOPE into HOPA games! However, did you have to make Jimmy's character so winey & annoying? He isn't a very likable person, just saying) Morphing Objects/Collectibles (CE version only) Whoa, hold on folks! Just when I thought these guys couldn't possibly make their collectibles any better, they made me start digging for gold by placing hidden Coins under rocks and other various nooks and crannies! There are 53 Collectibles total, 8 Coins-7 Giant's Mark-7 Susan's Photo Memories-8 Maps-11 Lost Lands Manuscripts and 12 Figurines (in the BC) Each scene also has a Morphing Object, 30 total. You can enable/disable the curser-hand change option when you encounter morphs & collectibles as well as show the scenes with missed collectibles & morphs on the map. Hidden Object Scenes: There are only 12 Hidden Object Scenes +3 in the CE Bonus Chapter, but don't let that deter you because these are some of the most interactive and lengthy, whole-room scene HO's you'll ever see, unless of course, you play other games by this developer. There are only 4 different variations, Interactive List, Interactive Silhouetted Shapes, Interactive Multiples, and Finding & Replacing. The interactions are multi-layered and do require a lot of thought processes because the interactions are not your typical cookie-cutter interactions. Did I mention how talented this team is? My only suggestion to them would be to offer an alternative game for players who may find these too frustrating, or perhaps a skip button feature? Mini-Games: Put on your thinking caps to solve 37 Mini-Games +16 in the CE Bonus Chapter. These aren't impossible puzzles, but they will require a little bit of thought and a little bit of patience. These aren't the kind of games that can be solved in one or two moves, and certainly not by luck of the draw. Did I mention how incredibly talented this team is? Even the Hidden Object Scenes are more like puzzles AND they have mini-games within them! Bonus Chapter: (CE version only) The journey continues right where you left off as Susan, Jimmy and Maaron retrace there steps to search for Maaron's Impaler that was dropped during the main game. There are 3 incredible Hidden Object Scenes and 16 Mini-Games across 12 familiar scenes. There are no Morphs in this chapter but you will search for the final 12 Collectible Figurines (of the last new character in the 3rd chapter!) Collector's Edition Extra's: 10 amazing Wallpapers, 10 Concept Art Pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, 17 Video Cutscenes, 12 Replayable Mini-Games, 20 Puzzles +5 Bonus Puzzles (you must complete collections to unlock) 53 Collectibles (8 Coins-7 Giant's Mark-7 Susan's Memories-8 Maps-11 Lost Lands Manuscripts-12 Figurines) 30 Morphing Objects, 3 very long Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide. Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can complete the collections! This confused me as well, the first time I used this feature. When you click ‘Complete Collections’ in the extras menu, the window will come up asking you to play the main game or the bonus chapter. Select one, and you’ll be put back in your completed game with all the locations open and a list on the upper right of the screen showing the items you need to search for. You can use the map to go to locations with an item and the hint button to show the item if you are having trouble finding it. Be aware, the item can be under the list of items in the upper right. When you’re done. ‘Save and Exit’ and you’ll be taken back to the extras menu. I love and own every game by this developer. Yes, it does take them a long time to tell the story, but that’s because they have a story to tell. Since I enjoy that part of games and I liked this story, it wasn’t a problem for me. As long as Five-BN continues to make great games like this, I will continue to buy them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and profane The game was beautiful done, amazing voice over, amazing music and game play.. Except for using God's name in-vain.. Is that really necessary in a game?! I guess if that's what you want then i am leaving!! To bad but i am chocked!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rare Game Thoughts shared This is my first and rare foray into a game review.Thank you so very much Five-BN for continuing to produce the best hidden object/adventure games, in my opinion. Let's face it, hidden object games are now a rarity on Big Fish these days. I had begun to despair that we would ever get any great quality games again (apart from the very occasional Elephant game) and was about to leave Big Fish. This is a great series and well worth the money. Thank you, thank you, thank you Five-BN. I now have a brilliant game to become engrossed in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ANOTHER AWESOME ADVENTURE WITH SUSAN REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS Wow, this game will get your brain juices going. There is something for everyone here. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Hard and Customer modes; * Interactive maps; * 22 Achievements; * Diary; * 12 replayable mini-games; * Find 7 photographs, 8 maps; 7 giant's marks, 8 coins, 11 pages and 30 morphs (in the main game) and 12 figurines (in the bonus). One thing I love about this developer is that you can turn off the cursor over the morphs/collectibles and find them yourself. So, you can make these as hard or as easy as you like. This is the only developer I know who does this - so thank you. The graphics are absolutely stunning and everywhere you look is easy to see and find all the items you need. These graphics are my most favourate - its like you are actually there. The music will be familiar to you if you have played the previous games to this series. The hidden object games are highly interactive straightforward, silhouette and putting items away. These are fun to do and I always look forward to them. Wow, the mini-games range from medium to hard. Some of them took me a long time to do (with RESET often pushed). However, they are all accomplishable with a bit of thought. If you get stuck, then go onto YOUTUBE walkthrough. There is one particular player (Pazu) who plays all the games and you can visually see how to do these puzzles. This will help newbies or casual players who want to gain experience without having to skip games. There is 1 collectible and 1 morph to find in each scene. Get them all and you get an achievement plus an extra 20 mini-games to play at the end of the game (which I'm doing now). All up the game and bonus took me well into double digits to play. The mini-games took the most time, but I'm glad I slowly nutted them out. Definitely comes recommended. The storyline is fabulous and there are lots of highs and lows. If you haven't played this series before, I advise you to get the earlier games because they are so worth playing. Stay safe out there fishies. With New Zealand on lockdown for at least another 3 weeks, I'm sure I'm going to be playing a lot of games.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic 5-BN is a developer that has resisted the cut in quality of most BFG developers over the years and I hope this continues. Everything about this game is fantastic...graphics, storyline, challenge, and pace. They've also deepened the color scheme over the prior games which definitely gives it a greater richness. My hat is off to them for this excellent game. Give it a try. I think you'll like it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Loved this game! Reminded me of the older games when you had to work to solve a problem(Myst or earlier MCF). Tricky, but very well designed puzzles and interesting HOPs. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This game made me very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IT’S BEEN A LONG WAIT FOR A NEW LOST LANDS GAME BUT REDEMPTION IS FINALLY HERE At the end of another successful foray into the Lost Lands, Susan is met by Maron who has another mission for her, this one somewhere on Earth where an ancient artifact has been found. This artifact is the beating heart of Drak UL, who was entombed in the Lost Lands while his heart was sent elsewhere to ensure he never regained his destructive power. Susan must now find the heart and make sure it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands of it could spell disaster for all worlds. Although working on Earth will ensure Susan is around her family again, which might not be everything she hoped. I love this developer who is one of the few who has not fallen under the cookie-cutter spell. When I see a game from them, I know it will be content-rich and comparable to those games of yesteryear than many of us long to see once again. They do not release a game every month and we are lucky to get one from them maybe twice a year if we are lucky. Lost Lands Redemption is a long game with a well-developed storyline, and one that is packed with extra goodies, time-consuming HOS, and great puzzles. When I play a HOS from this developer it usually takes me a good bit of time to complete as we must find objects to use that will open other objects before we finally reach our goal. At least for me, it is not always easy to find that one elusive item that will get me started to find what I finally need to complete the scene. I am generally not a fan of puzzles or mini-games but I really, really enjoy the puzzles in games from this team. I enjoy puzzles that make me think and take time to solve and those are the type that you will find in Redemption. Lost Lands Redemption will probably be one of the best games I play this year and I know that it will be replayed again in years to come. When I see a game from this development team it is ALWAYS an instant buy for me. No questions asked nor need to play the demo because I know it will be a game that is exactly what I want for the way I love to play. That being said, I always recommend that you try the demo because what I like in a game might be different from what you are looking for so please do try the demo before you buy. If you are new to playing HOPA games, I highly recommend any game from this developer. Happy gaming!
