Chimeras: Cherished Serpent is rated 2.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the best but not the worst game I've ever played. I kind of liked it~! I love the Chimeras series, I own all of the games in this series. My favorite thing is they usually take place in regular modern day settings even if we are talking about a mythical creature. This game was not the best in the series I'll grant you that but it wasn't all that bad either. I enjoyed playing it. My only real gripe is it was a very short game and that is why I took points off. The graphics, music, hidden object scenes were all very good and the mini-games were ok mostly doable, nothing you haven't seen before. I purchased this with another game when we had the BOGO sale so I'd say it was well worth the purchase price plus it gave me a few hours of fun, easy, relaxing game play. I love Elephant games and they definitely have put out much, much better games in the past but I still recommend buying this one on a good sales day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from less stressful I have not yet played the full game yet...I played the collectors addition trial and enjoyed it enough that I put it on my buy absolutely when it comes out in regular game...sometimes harder games become stressful and I lose interest... I found it nice that I could solve the puzzles...I do agree with the fact that it is a slight bit too simple but I still found it fun and challenging enough to want to buy it to complete it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from EVERYONE LOVED TUNE OF REVENGE...PERHAPS YOU SHOULD TRY TO REPLICATE THE GAME MECHANICS (you've made the games too easy lately) Completed Game approximately 4.5 hours (including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter) 18 Main Game Scene Locations +8 Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Beginner What a long, drawn-out, boring story that makes no sense! Halfway through the story, I was still at a loss as to what the story was actually about. I arrive in a small town for reasons unbeknownst to me, I'm not in the least bit phased that a young man in his physical prime, just met his demise two feet in front of me upon my arrival because he was literally scared to death. Apparently, I don't actually know why I'm in town either because I've just assumed the position of Deputy Sheriff by the Sheriff's sister Amber whose now the acting Sheriff because her brother, the Sheriff, also died from getting the bejeebers scared out of him as well. (and I might add that she doesn't seem to be phased by the fact that her brother just died either, much less at the expense of such weird, extenuating circumstances) Are you just as confused as I am now too? Fast-forward a few scenes later and you'll start having a few hallucinations about giant Basilisks, no wait, that's just a doll, wait, what? who lets their kid play with a Basilisk doll? ??Morphing Objects/Collectibles: (CE version only)? There are 26 Morphing Chimeras one per scene, that is actually nicely blended into the scenery, not impossible to spot, but it doesn't slap you in the face either!. Each scene also has either a Scenery OR Zoom-Zone Jigsaw Puzzle Piece (sometimes both) that allows you to assemble Four 12-piece Jigsaw Puzzles. Some of the scenes also have Collectible Basalists Cards with descriptions. My two biggest complaints with Elephant Games is that they never have a Collectibles Indicator Option that tells you if the Collectibles/Morphs have been found in that scene, and they never give you an option to return to the scene to search for any missed Morph or Collectible! ?Hidden Object Scenes? There are only 11 Hidden Object Scenes +7 in the CE Bonus Chapter, + 6 Zoom-Zone HO's. These were some of the least creative, unimaginative, most boring un-Hidden Object Scenes I've ever seen in a HOPA to date! They are located in boring locations (I'm fairly certain most of them were located inside of a chest of some sort) the objects tiny, and at times are difficult to tell what they actually are. Most of the scenes are dark and void of color. Most of the scenes were Interactive List's, but there were a couple of Matching Pair Finds, a Silhouetted Shape Find, a Swatch Find, a Fragment Find, and a couple of Multiples of the Same Object Finds. There wasn't much of a variety, there wasn't any color whatsoever...in fact, one of the scenes required finding objects by sifting through the charred remains after a fire...I kid you not! ?Mini-Games? There are 13 Mini-Games +6 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Many of the games were original or newer games, and way more creative than the HOP's were! Here are some of my personal favorites: 1-Use directional arrows to guide 2 stars to their matching slots (use the stars as bumpers to stop them from moving) 2-Rotate fragment sections into place. 4-Place 3 light spheres so their rays cover the entire grid (x6) 5-Rotate parts to guide the electricity to all the batteries simultaneously. 6-Select directional arrows to move tokens simultaneously thru the maze to electrical barriers & bypass all locks at the same time. ?Bonus Chapter (Collector's Edition version only)? SAY CHEESE, There's a new Sherrif and deputy in town folks! Sherrif Amber has deputized you once again when fowl-play is running a-muck at the county Fun Fair at Serpent Creek in this equally boring chapter that takes place over 8 scenes. Everyone is in a frozen comatose state but honestly, the atmosphere is just as stale as the main game and they both move at a snails' pace leaving a trail of sticky oozy slime behind for the next Elephant games' task (to remove an object from the goo of course) There are 6 mini-games and 8 hidden object scenes and you will complete the final 3 Collectible Basalists Cards, 8 Morphing Chimeras, and 12 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces which allows you to complete the final 12-piece Jigsaw Puzzle. After completing the Bonus Chapter, you can access the Secret Room where you return to the scene locations to find Objects in a Timed Mode. ?Collector's Edition Extra's? 12 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 23 Achievements, 13 Replayable Mini-Games,17 Hidden Object Scenes 12 Collectible Basalists Cards (with descriptions) 26 Morphing Chimeras, 48 Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces (Four 12 piece Jigsaw Puzzles) Secret Room (Timed HO Objects) 3 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter, and a Built-In Strategy Guide.
