Iselin Saga is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lovely game to relax with One of the reasons I like Big Fish is that they have a wide variety of games, so everyone can find something to like. This is one of those games, looking at the review numbers, that you either love or hate. But keep in mind that just because you don't like it, doesn't mean its a bad game! Just move on and you'll find something that really suits:) This stand alone tale reminds me a lot of the beautiful old games like “Enlightenus” (fabulous game by the way and still available on BF!) It has some of the still, wonder-like atmosphere of the early days of classic myst type games, with that eerie haunting quality. A good balance between adventure/HOS and puzzles, great imagination and outstanding art work. All these work together very well in Iselin Saga. Be warned, it is a very short game, I think it took me about 2.5 – 3 hours. That being said it is beautifully done and a real pleasure to play, and because of its uniqueness, will be a nice game to replay every couple of years. The developers did an excellent job and I hope there are more coming from them. An excellent game to spend a free credit on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from old school I LOVE this game. It's like a gift to me this morning. I have been with Big Fish since they began and this takes me back. It's well done. I played only for 10 minutes and bought it. I really like the fragmented piece hidden objects. It's a simple game. Relaxing game and I recommend it to those who want to go back to old school types of play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Confused as to how you can play this whole game in the demo time or just after I agree with many here that this is a real retro game going back before all the bling came along. Although it is nice to have the bling sometimes, for me it is far better to go back to the days when these games first came out and we were all happy with them then, A few weeks ago a game came out with absolutely no hints, bells or whistles and got a similar response but that too was a brilliant game. I realise not everyone would like these games but I would love those who say they played the whole game in the demo time etc to explain how they did it? I have tried with several profiles and even using just hints I can not complete this game in any less than 2 to 3 hours. I agree it is short but not that short unless I am totally missing something. Others have explained all the ins and outs of this game so will not add anymore just that I am really enjoying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHAT A BONUS FOR US FROG FANS! Based on full game, all reviews read. 1. Nothing at all wrong with the graphics except maybe for newbies accustomed to big studio wowzer graphics or those who need a new graphics card. 2. Sound? While I gave Visual 5 stars, sound was meh... the speech volume differs between characters. Fiddling with the volume on my 'puter was not rewarding because I would raise the vol. to hear one character and have to rush for the lower button so my curlers weren't blown out of my hair while listening to the next. The loudest is Peach, the precious little fairy companion. 3. Admittedly, the game is short; however, I loooove FROG searches (FRagmented Object Games) and am hoping that this was just a BF tryout for Seven Sails. With any luck they will fully develop their genre offering and bring us many more FROG's. I mean, look what happened with the Paint by Number guy - ups and downs and experiments, but we all stuck with them and now we have 2 5-star games to totally enjoy every few weeks (Modern Art and Art by Number). Plus, at this point I've bought every single Dark Parables for the FROG's because there is nowhere else to go. :( So yeah - more please. PS. I'm all into retro right now, replaying my fav oldies. Recommended: One of the best game series from a while back - The Drawn Tower and its 2 sequels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm A FROG Fan From Way Back! I've Missed Them! I love the Seven Sails games I own. They are all fun and "busy". Today's release is no exception. This SE can compete with any of today's CEs and come out a winner! It even has the 4 game modes so we can choose our challenge. I hope more of this type HOPA game is on the come-back. How long since we've had a FROG? This one doesn't ribbit and jump around but it is lots of fun. The graphics are beautiful and there are no garish colors spoiling the scenery. And, as Sunnyglow mentioned, it is a fabulous trip back to the good old HOPA days. This game doesn't need all the bells and whistles to make it entertaining or a multitude of puzzles as time-fillers. There are just enough HOPs and puzzles to keep it flowing and they are all very creatively designed. I challenge any of the "other" developers to do better. A range of difficulty kept them from becoming boring. The HOP fragments weren't so easy to find, there was a fun variety of puzzles. For the price, you can't go wrong! I liked the story, the adventure made sense. I enjoyed searching each scene for the items to help Iselin on her journey to confront the witch and, of course, win the battle. The map is critical in your travels, it's quite basic but takes you quickly to your next active location. The dialogue doesn't ramble on with lots of reading or talking. Although, I thought I detected a slight Southern accent here and there, it didn't have a negative effect. If you haven't played a FROG before, please give this one a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised! It isn't fancy and the extras that might usually attract you aren't there, but honestly, I don't think they are needed. This is a great HOPA game, a good length and it didn't leave me feeling cheated after purchasing. I'm very satisfied and hope you'll give it a try. And, for once, the synopsis wasn't over-blown with a bunch of untrue claims, which always led to someone being disappointed in the end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ribbit Retro I had to try this when FROGS were mentioned since I've always loved that aspect of games. This is the kind of old school game that we are seeing more often these days, but it is a nice one. The look is rather bare bones at times but maybe the devs can add more sparkle to their next game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OH, WHAT A FUN AND RELAXING GAME! As most have stated this is an old school type game which makes it all the better. This is a game you can take your time with and enjoy the beautiful scenery and pick up items in your adventure and play the Frog HO's. I have to admit I was never a fan of FROGS but this game changed my mind. It is actually fun to find the fragments in the HOs. The puzzles are also very well done and not overly hard. Some take a bit of thinking and figuring out but the challenge is perfect for me. Try this GEM of a game and see what you think. I love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern Twist on the Classics No long exposition here ---- just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the game with its classic feel but done in a modern style with crisp, clean graphics. I have liked the fragment games since Briar Rose and was happy to see this one. I wish there were more games of this style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A FANTASTIC, “FROG” LADEN GEM SET IN AN ENCHANTED KINGDOM REVIEW BASED UPON THE ENTIRE GAME (My Time: 5 Hours) Ribbit! Remember FROGs (Fragmented objects games)? This game is overrun with them – one “hop-ping” up in every scene! Enjoy an exciting adventure seen through the eyes of a sixteen-year-old, Islelin, as she battles to save her world from an evil witch. This is a basic, no frills HOPA game, and for me, a nostalgic trip back in time to when HOPA games were simpler fare. It is a quality game, and although it is missing all the extras seen in the Collector Edition games, for this game, less is more. Comparing it to those from the major developers is like comparing apples to oranges. This game is not in the same league. However, for the price, it is a little gem, especially for those who miss FROG games. There are no extras in this game. There is no strategy guide, nor bonus chapter. There are no puzzles to replay (although I wish there were), and no achievements. However, the player has the choice of 4 levels of play. The map is crucial in this game as it informs and transports the player to where there is an action or activity which needs to be performed. I feel that graphics are beautiful, and a great deal of work went into designing this game. It is a nice, no frills HOP game, and to me, it was a joy to play. There are thirteen (13) HOP scenes within the game. You search for fragments of some inventory item. I found some of those difficult to locate within the scenes. Many are well-hidden. There are eighteen (18) puzzles as well. I feel the puzzles are creatively designed. There is a nice variety of puzzles from easy to difficult. The puzzles in this game are as good as, or better than, those in the collector edition games from some of the major developers. The best part of the game, for me, was where I began the game. I played the beta for this game and was pleasantly surprised the downloaded game remembered me from the beta. The game started where I left off at the end of the beta. I wish more games from other developers would provide this feature. The one think I dislike is having to replay the beginning of the game (the demo) which I already played as the beta. Nevertheless, anyone can start the game at the beginning. Watch out for your inventory! If you collect too many inventory items, you will be forced to use them before being able to collect any more. VERIDICT: For the price, this game is a steal. It is a piece of nostalgia for those of us who remember HOPA games without all the “extras.” For FROG lovers, this is must-have! For puzzle-lovers, there are some little gems in this game and at least one which is a nail biter. Seven Sails has done an excellent job with this game and personally, I hope BFG will offer more of their HOPA games in the future. SPOILERS: HERE ARE SOME OF THE 18 PUZZLES WITHIN THIS GAME: A. Coloring/strategy puzzle. Color triangular segments of a large triangle so every color has four squares colored and the shape of those four squares are different from each other. B. Gear puzzle. Rotate gears so each red mark on a gear is next to a red mark on the grid. C. Rope puzzle. Adjust candles attached to ropes so none of the ropes cross each other. D. Weights and balances puzzle. Place weighted bird statues on 5 scales so that all the birds, when placed, are level with each other. Green lights will light up when each bird is placed correctly. E. Rotating tiles puzzle. Rotate 3 rings so that colored roses are next to one of a matching color on the outside of the grid. F. Chess/Strategy Puzzle. Reverse the positions of 6 tokens (3 on the right and 3 on the bottom of a grid). Clicking on each token provides several positions for it to move on the grid (or zero as well). Move the tokens into different positions until they are reversed from the original layout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Iselin Saga I enjoy playing games by this developer and it makes a change to play a relaxing game rather than one that rushes you off your feet every so often
