Rainbow Web 2 is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST This game combines Match 3, HOG, and a hybrid Hangman puzzles. The spider is back at the Rainbow Kingdom and all the webs must be eliminated. The Match 3 board is a spider's web of various designs. Each puzzle has a phrase that must be filled in with letters that are in the web. By matching three balls of the same color that contain a letter, the letter is released. Once all the letters of the phase have been removed from the web, the puzzle is over. The game play is in the Rainbow Kingdom Palace, which has been striped by the spider. Each location has multiple puzzles that once solved, adds some item to the room. The last puzzle adds a rainbow to each location. Also, at the end of the set of puzzles for that location, there is a fragmented HOS to complete. All these steps are used to remove the spider's web from the palace and add furniture, windows, etc. to each room. There are lots of rooms, because the palace is 4 stories high. The HO item is the location of the bits of the incantation that must be completed in order to open the time portal between worlds. I played the timed mode and as the puzzles got harder and harder, I ran out of time quite often. The very last puzzle in the wizard's tower was the hardest. I had to quit and come back the next day to finally finish it. I thought I could switch to non-timed mode to help me with this one puzzle, but if you do that, it starts the game over at the very beginning. I did not like this game as well as I did the first in the series. There is much too much irrelevant dialogue to read. I also don't think the times allowed for the puzzles were as long. The graphics were somewhat brighter. But it still pulled me in and kept me interested and wanting to finish it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from More Than A Match 3 Game! If Rainbow Web was a triple threat, than this version is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Storyline: The Evil Spider is back again and has shed his web over the Rainbow Kingdom and you, the hero who restored the Rainbow Kingdom last time are on the job of restoring it again. Graphics: Here's where I took away a star, again. The graphics in the match 3 portion of the game were wonderful. However, where it counted most - when the Rainbow Kingdom was being systematically restored - the colors were drained and dull. Very disappointing. Even items referred to as "noon-day sun" didn't look even remotely sunny to me. Sound: Background was lilting and soft. Enjoyable. Game Play: Rainbow Web II is beyond being the triple threat the last version of this game was. It has it all more of everything and then some. This is a match 3 game embedded in a word-type game embedded in a game of intense strategy embedded in a hidden object game embedded in mini-games of puzzle-making. As in any match 3 game, you must match 3 or more ball colors to remove them from the web. However, there are also balls containing letters that MUST be removed from the web by making match 3s (or more). In order to do this, you must make strategical moves that will enable you to remove all those letters to complete the level. One move can impact several different colored balls, as well as balls with letters. You must always be thinking several steps ahead. At the completion of several levels, you have to play a hidden object game in which pieces of an item are all over a room and you must find them all before proceeding. In addition, you will have to restore pictures by swapping tiles. Oh, and as you level up and the game gets harder, it changes on you - the web design changes! AMAZING GAME! If not for the poor graphics when rebuilding the Rainbow Kingdom, I would have given this game a solid 5 stars. Normally, this would not be a purchase for me, only because I don't particularly like games of strategy. I prefer my M3s to be more relaxing, but this version of Rainbow Web has me hooked. I do hope you will try the free demo. It's an hour of your time and, who knows, you may find that you are the king/queen of strategic, match 3, letter-word type games that contain puzzles and hidden objects - lol. HAPPY GAMING TO ALL!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful and great room-scenes! This being the second of the three Rainbow Web games brings more of a challenge to the game, which also has some really nice scenes of the places you go through. The webs can be really hard to clear in some places so it's nice there is no timer. All in all a great game with great graphics.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from time consuming Well, I have played all three now and Rainbow Web III is the one to buy. All the Rainbow games are a unique match 3 challenge. However, both Rainbow and Rainbow II have no way to progress if you don't hit the exact combination of pre-programmed moves. Rainbow III provides a "hammer" that allows you to break free if you get bogged down which makes the whole game exciting to play. I have restarted and restarted several levels trying to complete it. Very frustrating and tedious. These are terrific fun games...but get Rainbow Web III...don't frustrate yourself on I and II.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Surprise !!! When I first started playing this, II was somewhat disappointed. Too easy. But just you wait Bubba - it gets tougher. The first half was fairly easy and then somewhere ( I forget quite where) I had a real Brain Strain. It took me somewhere around 5 hours to get to the next level. Others were difficult as well but one is a REAL HEADACHE. If you manage to pick this up half-price or get it free - you will not be disappointed. Go Bananas, eh ...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as good as the 1st or 3rd Rainbow Webs I loved the first Rainbow Web game and have played it through several times. I also like the third game, although not nearly as much as the first. Unfortunately, what was charming in the first game is missing in the second one. While the first game was set in pretty, quirky outdoor settings, this one is set entirely in claustrophobic castle rooms. Also unlike the first game, there is a lot of wordy narration which I finally stopped reading. Events are described which you never see. It was pointless, and the ending is very anticlimactic. I also got tired of matching and matching trying to get the last few letters, or trying to get the stone letters, which you can't match, to drop off. In the third game, you can use a hammer power-up to bash those things, which is a big improvement. But Rainbow Web 2 made me feel bored and frustrated most of the time, and it was a big disappointment compared to the first game.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this after having played Rainbow Web. (I had purchased that game long ago, reinstalled it recently and enjoyed playing it again.) However, I disliked the storyline, and the mini hidden object and slider (not sure what they should be called) puzzles in this one (Rainbow Web 2). You can click past the storyline, but not the others. Seems like a quick 2 made on the success of the first one.
