Laxius Force is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adventure Game! The story will pull you in. There are quests to complete, secret rooms to look for, fall or walk into. There are strategies to plan and the intrigue of this being the first of a 3 part series is something to look forward to. The challenge is whether you are up to it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, Not Great It's easy to see what people like about Laxius Force. It's a long game with lots of side quests. The problem for me is there are too many things that really reduce the enjoyment of the game. First, the game requires way too much leveling up. I spent about a third of my time replaying the same area over and over in order to level up my characters. This sucks the joy out of the game very quickly. After a while, the game seems more like work than play. Second, the game requires way too much trial and error. One example is triggering side quests. Sometimes a side quest is triggered by talking to a particular character after you complete some action. Since you never know which actions and which characters are involved, it means that every time you do something you have to go and talk to everyone in the game. It gets worse. Sometimes in order to trigger a side quest or to complete it, a particular character has to be in the active party. For much of the game, there are eleven characters in your party. Since your active party can only hold four characters at a time... Well, you get the idea. And, as if that weren't enough, even if you do have the right character in you active party, you still might not be able to start or complete some side quests unless that character has more than a certain level of some quality - mind, resistance, strength, etc. The trial and error carries over to the battles. Not only do you have a lot of characters, you also have a lot of weapons and various types of protective equipment. Aside from the different attack and resistance levels, each piece of equipment has different attributes - air, thunder, holy, etc. To survive many battles, you need to figure out the right characters and the right types of equipment for those characters. Some of the advanced players may love all this trial and error. But, if you're like me, it just turns the game into drudgery very quickly. The third problem is context. This game contains Chapters 1 through 4 of a cycle of Laxius Force games. Since the developer saw this game as a piece of something greater, a number of side quests started in this game can only be completed in Laxius Force 2. Or 3. I could go on but I will end it here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Zelda Game puts you in mind of the old zelda on nintendo which I liked. Only problem is the game is not an entire download. Just when you really get into the quests and are starting to get into it the game stops you and say game over just before a big fight you see coming which was VERY disappointing. I can say what i did when it happend with out the bleep machine going off

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating and full of bugs - a dud This is a frustrating game where it is extremely difficult to advance or progress in any way. My team is constantly being killed, and each time lose ten percent of all my "golds" (as the game calls them). The graphics are ugly and amateurish and the style in which characters are portrayed is very inconsistent. There is a lot of blood and violence, including disembowellings. This game contains a lot of wordy dialogue. The dialogue is badly translated from the French and is occasionally incomprehensible. There is some insulting language that some players may find objectionable. I've encountered a fair number of bugs. Frequently the game will not open on full-screen and the computer must be restarted in order to get it to open properly. The latest bug has me stopped in my tracks - I can't go any further until I reach the "Institute of Modern Science" but the pop up yes/no screen to enter the Institute won't come up. I've tried reloading the game and shutting down the computer. Nothing works, so I guess for me this game is over. I was hoping for something in the mode of Aveyond, but this game isn't it!
