Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst ™ is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 205.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exciting, Addictive and Lots Of Fun Just loved this atmospheric game with its dark humour and old school graphics, sound effects and style. You will find yourself going back and forth a lot though. It doesn't play in a very linear way, quite the opposite. You think you've finished with one scene/section but you never are. That has a certain appeal, or else, could understandably frustrate some people. I had to look at the walkthrough a couple of times but it didn't affect the play too much. Very long hint recharge on HOS. The puzzles were unique, interesting and fun for the most part. Seemed like a very long game to me. It was challenging, exciting and addictive in equal measure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST GAME I EVER PLAYED!! I don't know why I passed on this game, but I decided to replay all my MCF games, as the new games out are so boring. So I bought all the MCF games, I didn't have. Well, I was so surprised, at the puzzles and the graphics inside the puzzles. They were fantastic. The clips of the twins, Victor, and Charles were so spooky, and added so much to the story. I just didn't want it to end. The final puzzle was a real brain burner, but I finally got it, and I just can't say enough good things about this game. I will be playing this one over and over again. Mmm.... maybe that's why they don't create games this good anymore, cuz they don't want us to replay them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd In The Series & It Gets Better!!!! More interactive gameplay, more creepiness by exploring the Mansion and grounds than the first one. The Ravenhearst series really goes all out with their puzzles, it is not easy at all and sometimes I needed to skip it which I hate doing. Creepy, challenging game plus you learn more about the Ravenhearst story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite of favorites I spend most of my time playing big fish games.( I am retired and disabled, ) This game is the reason I became hooked on video games. Unfortunately there has never been another game as good as MCF: RETURN TO RAVENHEARST. Since I have installed windows 10 , I can no longer play the game. does anyone have the same problem? Can anyone help me get it working with windows 10?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Standard By Which... It's an old game now but you wouldn't guess it! IMO this game is THE level which all following games hope (HOPE) to aspire. I played it 8 years ago as my first HOPA entry, and just played it again last week, and it was the same thrill. The story can be fuzzy at times, but when isn't it, right? But it is an excellent looking and sounding game. It's an older game so you aren't given Difficulty options. Everything sparkles but the game definitely does not hold your hand. There's no 'Maybe I should move this' or even 'I wonder what fits into this space..' It also isn't like a lot of the newer HOPAs are, when EVERYTHING you can see is interactive, missing a piece, and the entire game is a chore of finding missing pieces in ridiculous obscure places.' There are enough HO scenes to make it a HO game, but if you enjoy HO I think it's the right amount. There's no jump map so there is B&F, and it is a pretty big game, much bigger than, say, Phantasmat. There's no task list but the game does use a journal that keep notes for you. Live actors are used, and there are no cutscenes to sit through. The HOS are on the challenging side, much harder than standard fare games. Puzzles include tiles, logic, inventory, connect the wires without crossing any, and finding clues strewn about that if you miss you won't know what to do. You also don't need to read entire books in this game, so if reading journals in a game turns you off, RTR could be a great choice for you. The game is FUNNY, too. There are little jokes and funny things everywhere, a lot of which actually made me laugh, which is nice for a change. They call these games 'creepy-lite' and I guess that's a good description- it's kinda creepy but also somehow kinda funny. I think RTR is at least worth a demo if you enjoy these types of games. It's a huge improvement over the first one, which was just HO and assembling torn images. It's a labor of love and, I think, set the standard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mystery Case gets better and better. My first casual game was Mystery Case and I was hooked. This one is the best yet. I love the items changing instead of hidden objects and the puzzles are great a very challenging. I skipped 2 out of frustration. The story line was excellent and the old guy playing the son deserves an award as does the villain of the piece Marcus. The only nit is the strategy guide is vague. Can't have everything. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it is still The Best! if any others come close (besides Dire Grove, Escape from...13th Skull, Madame Fate/ Fate's Carnival, etc.....) let me know...so many imposters out there ...love the art work: especially the dust + darkness + detail! the challenge the length the story ....all superior!
