Roads of Rome II is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replayable--over and over So fun. All of the Roads of Rome games are fun. For some reason the second in the series is the best for me. Challenging and always fun to play. I've beaten it many times, in expert mode, too, but I always got back to it when I'm tired of my other games. Just challenging enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you only want to buy one Roads of Rome... All three games were a lot of fun. Roads of Rome was really nice and fun, but I felt a bit slow paced. Roads of Rome II was my favorite - more features, a bit faster paced, and if you purchase just one, start with this one, but if you plan to get all three then play them in order. Roads of Rome III - I ended up always using the fast boots capability almost constantly because otherwise the game drug out and was boring. Roads of Rome 1 & 2 you build the city and the roads. Roads of Rome 3 you repair the city and roads once the barbarians have destroyed it. Thus in #3 you're putting out a lot of fires. However, that didn't bother me as some reviewers cautioned, and it can be fun figuring out which fire to put out first. All three games are capable of being conquered, but with #3 I had to replay more levels than in #2 in order to unlock the bonus levels ... #1 doesn't have bonus levels. #1 has a mini-game as the last level in each of the four 'episodes, which I didn't care for. It is a lot of clicking on color groups as they feed from the bottom - and you don't want any column to reach the top. I could have done without that. Also in #1&2 the 'fast feet' appear randomly. In #3 you build a cobbler hut and then they appear on a planned recurring basis. I like that you can go around some obstacles so you can reach other items and don't always need to take things in a specific order as some of the other time management ones require ...think Royal Envoy - you have to stick to the road and take things in the order laid out. And I love that you can chop down any tree that is in the scene. On some of the scenes I just spent time chopping away just to lay down an entire forest ...but you need 'food' in order to chop the trees.... You will recognize scenes across the three games. Sometimes there's significant changes to where the features are laid out on the land and othertimes the developers didn't bother to make many changes. However, it didn't bother me and sometimes it was fun to see what they had done differently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! I love this game. Can't stop playing. It is challenging, but not so difficult you can't finish. I like how you can choose the level of difficulty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great strategic game..Loved it! The game has many levels and they all are different in some way. I realised that in each level I'm supposed to use the resources differently and have a different game plan to finish it as expert. Otherwise you can go on playing the same way and finish the game in your lesiure time and enjoy yourself. I finished all levels once and then started again to achieve expert level in each to play the bonus level. Loving it.. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sequel - Highly Recommended! This is the sequel to the already brilliant game 'Roads of Rome'. It has many new features & challenges, such as the rope bridges, teleporters, fog that you have to clear by paying certain characters. Very similar gameplay to 'My Kingdom For The Princess' which I think this is a take off of, but I like them both equally as they both have different challenges and features. This game certainly makes you think about what you are doing as the levels get increasingly difficult, which is good for me as some other games I have played have been too easy and I've finished them in a couple of hours.. this one kept me going for week lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be a Road Warrior! This is such a fun time management game. If you like My Kingdom for the Princess, you'll enjoy this series. Graphics: Really nice, beautiful. Music: The music fits with the theme of the game and doesn't intrude on play. Game Play: You complete tasks such as building helpful structures such as sawmills, gold mines and pig farms; you'll also mine crystals and build roads, among other things. There are two or three main goals in each level and you accomplish them by gaining resources to complete them. Length: Several hours, especially if you replay a level to get Expert. There are 40 levels and 1 bonus level. Challenge: Some of the levels are pretty challenging to finish with an Expert rank, but I have completed the game with Expert on all levels and when you do there's a bonus level to play at the end. If you get stuck, there are great tips in the forum on completing the more challenging ones. Play Again: Yes please!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful varied levels and great gameplay! New buildings, new terrains, new options! The first one in the series was great already, and this one's even better with the new features added! The gameplay is very similar to My Kingdom for the Princess, but I like the Roads of Rome series more. I think it has prettier graphics and animations, and it's a bit less frantic and stressful. Also, there are no "in-between/bashing" levels to spoil the fun, as in MKFP. The levels are varied, lovely to look at, and very well thought-out. The timing to finish each level was just right for me, even though I'm usually not the greatest with timed games -- not frustrating in any way. You can't go wrong with this one!
