Profiler: The Hopscotch Killer is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A really fun game I like this kind of hidden object game because it has variables, which mean it's not a straight HOG. It has a screen that can be moved from left to right when searching for items and the side games or puzzles are a nice break from the normal hidden object goal. The story line is easy to follow and your progress in the game calls for you to answer questions about the investigation correctly. The game keeps your attention because each scene comes with its own variables and they are not always the same. This is a really fun hidden object game to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed this game, the story line kept me intrigued throughout the game and I like the fact they use an african-american as one of the main characters, this game is different from most ho games I've played but i recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but too short! Thank goodness I only spent $2.99 for this. Very entertaining and a nicely different storyline -- but too short. Played the whole thing in less than 2 hours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Hopscotch Killer Very, very, nice game. I enjoyed the trial, good detective story. I like variety, so keep them coming. This game may not be spectacular but I found it amiable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Way Too Short, but Somewhat Enjoyable Review based on one hour trial. Did not purchase. It's a shame that the developers didn't take this premise and use it to develop a longer version with a more challenging story line and make the puzzles and HO scenes a bit more difficult. This had the potential to be a fantastic game, but ends up being disappointing because the game is way too short. Do not recommend purchase. The overall premise is great. You are a new detective assigned to partner with a retiring detective. You move through a series of crime scenes to try to determine the cause of death for various victims, and try to solve the crimes. Graphics are a bit dark and depict crime scenes, but the blood and gore factor is minimal. Would not be appropriate for kids, though, since subject matter is murder and suicide and death and bombs. What was really great about the game is that there is a wide variety of mini-games between each crime scene, including match three in a row, slide the blocks to release a vehicle, find the matching pairs, assemble the jigsaw puzzle or mug shot by swapping out pieces and rotating them to fit, etc. The variety keeps it interesting and fast-moving, but I could tell that by the time I got to the end of the one hour free trial, that I was probably already near the end of the game. After reading some of the reviews, it confirmed my suspicions that even though this is a good hidden object game with a lot of variety and a good premise to the game, the game is way too short, and therefore not worth the price, even when purchasing at half-off or at a discount. I prefer games to be at least four hours, if not more. Really a shame. They have the right idea, but then cheat you on the game length. The hidden object scenes are relatively easy, the graphics are okay but not spectacular, the music is not the worst and can get annoying after a while, but the mini games are interesting and include a wide variety. Storyline doesn't matter to me, but it's also okay. If the game was at least twice as long, and had better music, I would be giving this game four stars, and would definitely purchase the game. However, based on the short game time and rather annoying music, I give this one only three stars. Could have been so much better, if only they had taken what was good about the game and expanded it, and worked a bit harder at providing decent background music. It was entertaining enough to keep me busy for an hour, but not worth purchasing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Full Game Review I dont think this game is as bad as some of the previous reviews have stated. I purchased the game after the hour trial was over because (no spoiler) I was convinced the killer was the male lead detective, and I just HAD to know. However, this is a very short game. I downloaded the hour trial at 8am, it is now 10:19am and the entire game is over (AND I took breaks, so its even shorter than 2 hrs). The storyline is great, although the title of the game doesnt have anything to do with the actual game itself. The graphics are so-so ( I've seen worse), music gets to be annoying after awhile, BUT this game does have a few good points as well. Its simple, which is nice if youre just looking for something to play without having to think. The mini games are actually pretty good, better than the game itself in my opinion (especially the firing range). In the first 3 cases you have to make a guess about how the victims died. if you make a wrong guess you are penalized with a match three game! Not kidding either, you'll be taken to a match 3 game and told to "think about why you guessed wrong" lol, I felt like I was put in a time out for guessing wrong. There is also a lot of pointless clicking, ex: you have to find 10 clowns that have nothing to do with anything just so you can go back to the station. The game wouldve been a lot shorter than it is if these two detectives were good at their job...lol...they leave a lot of things unsearched, which you end up having to go back later to look at. Then there is a language issue a little bit...ex: youre told to look for a torch, which turns out to be a flashlight. That happens a few times throughout the game with different objects. Overall the game isnt a completely horrible, but I did find myself just wanting it to be over as it got closer to the end. After you complete the game you have access to all the mini games as well. I cant honestly say that I recommend this game, its way too short. Perhaps if the victims/scenes rotated or were different when starting over then it MIGHT be worth purchasing but I say save your money for something better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My 2 Cents I played the DEMO. I think this was a LOT better than other Hdo games I've played - not enough for me to buy it though. A really good story mucked up with teeny, tiny HO's that you need a magnifier for, and things that simply aren't what they say they are: standout is mistaking the Chrysler Building for the Empire State Building. This could have been a really fun game. But it was basically a chore. . .
