Shattered Minds: Masquerade is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 60.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised Me! I wasn't expecting much from this little gem, but I ended up really liking it! I played it straight through in about 3 hours; so not a long game, nor was it so impossible to solve it took all the enjoyment out of it. The story line is a bit shaky, but I found the hidden object scenes to be surprisingly difficult at times. They are very sneaky, hiding things where you'd never think to look. I think what I liked the best was the Music, which is a surprise for me, because sometimes music in games can be downright annoying. Think "'50's Detective" with the music. The game is set in New Orleans, but none of it is familiar. This is a great rainy day game, with a bit of challenge thrown in. I have over 300 games, & I think I'll keep this one around for awhile. It definitely has re-play value, as long as it isn't too often. I didn't see any map, but then I really didn't need it. It flows well; there is a bit of back & forth, but not as much as other games I've played recently. Yes, give this one a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this Game! This is why I play HOGs. OMG this has so many HOS and they are loaded and not easy. It also has a great story. I think there are 20 objects in each HOS and they aren't repeated (although they could be). Most of the objects are really hidden well, but as you get the hang of it, finding them gets a little easier. Great designs!! The story takes place in the beautiful city of New Orleans where Visage is causing chaos and you, as the detective have to solve his plan for global fogging! Lots of scenes and every new room has a HOS. After all that's why we play these types of games. You'll love this game from beginners to pros.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some Tough HOS Scenes! The story sometimes took some rather bizarre leaps, but I found the puzzles in this one to be do-able with a little thought and fairly minimal aggravation. The HOS scenes, however, is where this one shined. They were some of the more difficult I have encountered. Some of the difficulty was the description of the object, always accurate but often evoking a different image than I had in my mind, sometimes there were a bit dark, but mostly, it was just very, very skillful design that concealed them. Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really enjoyed this game I really enjoyed this game. I almost didn't try it because of some negative reviews. Then I realized this was the same company that developed the Nightfall Mysteries series which I have played and liked. The graphics do seem a little old school compared to some other recent games but the story and gameplay well make up for it. Everything is integrated in a way that keeps things moving. The voice-overs are also well done. The HOS are fairly standard with some interactive and challenging items. Puzzles aren't too easy but not difficult. There is no map but the backtracking isn't severe. You complete a general area then move on to another. The Hint let's you know if there is anything to do in a scene. The only complaint I have is that sometimes an unwanted inventory item would stick to my cursor. Mildly annoying. I had fun and I definitely think this game is worth judging on your own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great game, great graphics the game is really good and the HO scenes are pretty crowded but the graphics are so good that that is not a problem. the skip/hint button charges in about 30 seconds. no map, there is a diary. i had to cheat a few times because the hint doesn't hand-hold you so you sometimes have to really think what to do. it isn't hard....just logical and that is where i sometimes have a problem. i had to skip a good many mini games. i can't tell you about sound......didn't use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT IT Beautiful New Orleans. Mardi Gras. Sinister villains cloaked in gorgeous costumes and masks. Skeleton heads appearing in the midst of fog. People looking encased in a nylon stocking, like popped bubblegum. Sometimes surprisingly funny - like a clown exploding on a slot machine. Game is a marked contrast of attributes. The graphics are delightful and top-notch. Even the puzzles are brightly colored and superbly done. HOS are well delineated and gorgeous with good visibility. No backtracking. Unique storyline with satisfying ending. Developers put a lot of thought into making this fabulously polished game. Kudos to them. Can’t say enough good things about it. No cons. Took me 4 ½-5 hours on casual mode, taking time to look at the picturesque scenery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, original cast of characters There were some beautiful locations and interesting puzzles in this game, but I think its strongest point is the characters. Not giving too much away, the back story was great, and I loved the voice acting, which added so much to the personalities of these villains. The only downside to this game is that if you used an item in an incorrect place, you were stuck still holding the item, instead of it being returned to your inventory. This could have been cleaned up a bit. However, worth playing for the great story.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FUN Hidden object puzzle adventure!! I REALLY enjoyed this game so much! The graphics are amazing and the storyline was excellent! There are the 2 usual modes of gameplay for this game. The hint button refills fairly quickly and the skip button fills fairlly quickly as well. The HOS are interactive, some of them are junky, but objects aren't terribly hard to find. There were too many HOS for my taste, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the game. I'm just one of those gamers that prefer fewer HOS. The puzzles range from easy to hard. I did get frustrated during one puzzle and I ended up hitting skip on that one, which I never do. I think I was probably just tired, because I had been playing non-stop for a very long time, because this game just drew me in! I really enjoyed the story and just couldn't, or wouldn't, stop playing! :-D There was some backtracking, but not so much that it got frustrating or I lost my place or forgot what my objective was. It's not a game where you find inventory items much later in the game that have to be used in areas you came through much earlier in the game. The inventory items are, for the most part, used in the general area or building where they are found! The hint button is helpful, but does not tell you exactly what needs to be done during gameplay. It will tell you if there's nothing to do in that area, but it shows a shattered glass section of the screen of an area that needs attention. The excessive clicking penalty is a fog that comes across the screen with a foggy phantom skull that laughs, which I thought was pretty cool, so I found myself clicking during HOS just to see it! :-) I can't comment on the CE, but I can say that I didn't find myself needing guidance or wishing I had the SG at all. That being said, the ending of this game was somewhat anti-climatic for me, so maybe the CE offers bonus gameplay that offers more of an ending. Don't get me wrong, the ending wasn't horrible by any means, I just felt it was somewhat lacking. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game! I loved the puzzles, I enjoyed the HOS, although I felt there were too many of them and I really enjoyed the story! I would definitely recommend this game!! Oh yes, I almost forgot, in the SE you do get the sneak peek for an upcoming game, "Nightfall Mysteries: Black Heart" and the description of that game looked very promising, so I'm looking forward to it coming out and playing the demo and hopefully playing that game as well! I hope this review helps my fellow gamers in making their decision on downloading the demo of this game and giving it a whirl! I hope everyone enjoys playing it as much as I did!! :-D HAPPY GAMING!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fun -- well worth price! Shattered Minds: Masquerade is one of the better offerings from Big Fish lately. It kept me entertained throughout with a good mix of not-terribly difficult puzzles, but terrific scenery and smooth and rapid scene transfer. It was over too soon, as I was enjoying the game so much. It had a terrific spooky atmosphere and unique storyline and it being set in New Orleans was just a plus for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes the Cake I waited for the S.E.After playing the trial version. I couldn.t get enough ,Played the whole game all at once,I'll rate this game in point version. Sound-was great, had to turn it down or up at times Graphics-crystal clear, stunning Voice over- well done H.O. scenes-clear and precice , not a "church rumage sale" Story line-has you guessing as to who the villian is[I was wrong] Difficulty-you decied for yourself[I consider myself very good at this type of game and at times I had to use the Hint ] Length-sorry can't say,I do so many other things at the same time[cooking, laundry, animals wanting in and out etc.] Mini games-some are easy others extremely difficult Morphing objects-there are none in the S.E., and believe me I looked,so don't bother looking[doesnt take anything away from the game. I really enjoyed this game and hope you do as well.I will replay this game ,as I know most of us do[I have a habbit of memorizing the objects so I let some time go by first] All in all it is a keeper ,,so enjoy fishes!!!
