Still Stands As One Of The Creepiest Hidden Object Games Ever Made!!!Even though this game is 7 years old, I HIGHLY suggest it for lovers of truly scary hidden object games. It's like "Picture of Dorian Gray" meets "House of Wax" by way of "Silence of the Lambs". WARNING: This game is not for the faint of heart...there are well over a dozen corpses in this game and some of them you'll come on quite suddenly.
It's about a narcissistic psychopath that's kidnapped your girlfriend and forces you to go through his house of horrors in order to save her. There are hints and skips available for the mini-games (which I REALLY enjoyed) and as you move from room to room.
The only real downside is the map. You won't be able to jump around from point to point but will have to backtrack manually and this estate is REALLY huge (3 maps worth). I didn't mind because I think it adds to the tension.
I've played this game multiple times over the years and I still never tire of it. If you occasionally get stuck Big Fish has a decent walk-through. If you like happy endings then don't EVER play the bonus chapter that comes with the CE. I prefer the SE ending myself.

A Grown-Up Game....Finally!Other reviewers have laid out the plot, so I'll skip right to the important stuff.
This is an entertainingly dark, brooding game with tons of unique puzzles, a fantastic, coherent storyline and a suitably creepy and menacing protagonist. Graphics are so visually appealing, voice overs deliciously sinister and music is nicely subdued.
Story takes place in an extensive old mansion and grounds that seem to go on forever. There is a non-interactive map, meaning you can't jump from one room to another, but I was rather glad that you had to traverse the entire house to move about. The map does tell you when there is an item of interest but doesn't give anything away.
Puzzles are my main interest in games of this sort and there are a lot of them here. They range from one or two ridiculously simplistic to tearing my hair out hard (which I live for) and playing in advanced mode gave me no SKIP button. The puzzles are unique and extremely entertaining.
I highly recommend this game for all of you out there who still like to think for yourselves.

Buy this or BUST!UGH! This game is FANTASTIC. Creepy, engaging, beautifully made, and accompanied by a compelling story with three dimensional characters brought to life by stellar voice acting. I regret NOT purchasing the CE because I wanted more.
An excellent HOA for adults.

Creepingly fantastic! A Thriller Chiller of murder mystery!Completed SE . I recommend this game for those looking for a good, creepy murder mystery. But WARNING: This game is not suitable for younger audiences or those sensitive this kind of genre do to the graphic and real like nature in some of the scenes. This game is fantastic. I was enthralled all the way through. The story captured my attention and held me to the end. The graphics and sound was excellent. All the puzzles fit perfect with the games theme. The characters were captivating. I thought Vincent Price took the Oscar in the original Portrait of Dorian Gray but I can say this Oscar took the "Oscar" for being just plain pysco and creepy.

Best game so farI was a bit sceptical at first and tried to save money. But after completing the game i had to buy collector's addition (not only for the bonus chapter, but i also enjoyed the wallpapers and the soundtracks). Though the game, probably, meant to be scarry i found it very cozy, relaxing and entertaining.

What a great game!!One of the best games I have played for a long time, Graphics Storyline and Music Excellent. Lots of puzzles ranging from easy to perplexing. Not too many HOS. - I really enjoyed this game, it is quite long, if I had to say anything against it then It would be that there is a lot of going back and forth, but there is a map, so it is not too bad. I would definitely recommend this game - lots of fun. wish I had bought the collectors edition now.

Love itNice graphics, well done HOS, interesting puzzles, good length and chance to use your memory skills. The only complaint are the sparkles for HOS even in advanced mode.

This sets the bar high...This is currently my favorite game that I've purchased from this website, and I really can't recommend it enough. A big factor for games of this ilk is "How immersive is it?" Is a world being created that I enjoy exploring and interacting with? Is the storyline engaging? Are the puzzles and HOS well integrated? This game has all of that and then some. As mentioned in other reviews, the voice acting is incredible. And the tension you feel while playing is palpable. There's an actual urgency that creeps over you while you're playing that you have to temper so that you can focus on the tasks at hand -- brilliant! This is the game to beat as far as I'm concerned, and I'm really disappointed that the follow up doesn't measure up to this one in terms of quality, immersion and engagement. In fact, it feels like a totally different game, with very little in common with this one. I recommend this game, and I'm actively searching for games I'll like as much as this one.

Creepy HOGAThis game is a dark psychological thriller in the form of a hidden object adventure game. Admittedly it is a similar story of someone is kidnapped and only you can save them. However, the story telling and the voice actor they used for the bad guy give this one a nice creepy atmosphere.
This game is more adventure then hidden object which I personally liked. The hidden objects scenes are well done though and not difficult but a nice little challenge. The mini games are great and definitely have you thinking. Overall great game that I will be playing again.
