Haunted Manor: Queen of Death is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 150.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from really enjoyable!! I thought initially that I had wasted my money when I bought this game as the graphics weren't the best I'd seen but I persisted with the game and I am glad I did! It was a very long game and the storyline was great and well-presented. Some of the hidden object scenes required a good bit of concentration on my part as objects were cleverly hidden. The music throughout especially that of 'Spooksville' by Ross Milligan which was mainly heard in the HOS really set the tone for the rest of the story. This game provided me with hours of fun so I am looking forward to playing others in this series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun game Finished it fairly quickly, but I used a lot of hints. Kind of lame story but I would recommend this game to anyone that likes hidden object games

Rated 5 out of 5 by from anything with a haunted theme gets me playing... This game had great scenery and a great atmosphere. It was fun wandering around and the hidden object scenes were good. I especially liked how at the end intead of running around like mad collecting something, you got to revisit each scene and do a hidden object puzzle. This game was well put together and enjoyable enough to be played over and over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Haunted Manor: Queen of Death Originally i didn't like the fact there was no journal not realizing this when i purchased it so i uninstalled it, but i did miss the game as it had a good storyline, graphics & haunting music which drew be back so i reinstalled it and completed the game and glad i did..despite all this i'll most likely play it again down the track as i enjoyed the way the story took you not just inside the house but in the mines, woods & crypts too. Recommend.. Thank you Bigfish:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good story, with great visuals The story is thrilling enough (while not a sequel, it is related thematically to the first Haunted Manor by its twins motif), and the visuals are stunning. They are right for the atmostphere, and they are both beautiful and creepy. Because of this, the HOS are easy to deal with (HOS must be beautiful since people will be staring at them for a while). The minigames are OK and you do not need to do much skipping Somehow keeping track of where things were and what was needed was not too hard. I would love to see a third installment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from tough but superb! This is one of the better ones. Loved the story and how it ended. I've played it 5 times now and will play it again. The puzzles were very difficult. The whaling of Stella in the nursery was great to hear. I love spooky stuff and "B" horror movies. This is not an easy game. I would have the collector's edition to have the strategy guide. Overall I love this game and will play it often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good enough. The best thing about the game is the high quality artwork. The story is good, and the scenes are well thought out. The puzzles are sometimes unique, and better than average, yet not extremely difficult. These games tend to become so tedious, eventually, as you move back and forth, over and over, hour after hour, just burning game time up. this one avoids that trap somewhat. Overall, a good game written for grownups.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good fun game Not a bad game. Has no voice over. The HOS are pretty good because you need to look hard. The puzzles are not bad. There is running around to find things but still has a good flow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit morbid but high level of fun guaranteed I had the privilege and pleasure of beta testing this second installment and was, right from the start, struck by its beauty. Mozart's Requiem acted as an indication my initial feeling wasn't wrong and what was to follow should be good. Well, it IS good, very good ! So good that I purchased the CE, although I don't usually buy Collector's Editions. I made an exception this time and I am glad I did as I found that the bonus chapter provided a much better ending, not to say the logical conclusion to that quest. Nonetheless, the ending in the SE is very satisfactory. Either way you can't go wrong. Here is what to expect from the game: - a very good intro and good cutscenes - stunningly gorgeous graphics, richly detailed and worth interrupting your search simply to enjoy looking at them, - an eerie, atmospheric music, which, for once, I didn't have to turn off, as it is never disturbing and fits in the overall climax quite well - lots of puzzles and minigames, some fairly easy, others more tricky but not to the point of driving you nuts, and all can be skipped; . - plenty of HO Scenes that are not mere junkpiles requiring a microscope to find the items, - many splendid locales to explore and re-explore - lots of tasks to perform, all of which are good fun, not far-fetched, challenging enough to require some thinking without playing with your nerves - a friendly hint system with a decent recharge rate, helping you to find items and decide what to do next - hence a well-balanced challenge level, - clear objectives and clues given on screen and in the journal - and a coherent storyline, which unfolds well and is quite interesting to follow However, there is no voice-over; personally I prefer none to amateurism that doesn't sound natural. There's no map and quite a bit of bouncing to do from scene to scene; but that's no real problem: it's easy to draw your own map as you go along, and backtracking cuts off the linerarity anyway; the game doesn't babysit you thereby ensuring a better challenge. Add to that a few ghosts, a deliciously macabre climax, creepy but not excessive, hidden passageways and a more than decent gamelength, around 8 to 8.5 hours for the SE, even a bit longer if you don't rush through the game and linger as I did to admire the artwork. The SE deserve 4.5 stars which I round up to 5.
