Surface: Mystery of Another World Collector's Edition is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 179.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wanted too see the beginning of the Surface Series Wow, what a great older game. I think it began in Feb 2012. So it's almost 6 years old. We have come along way since then but I don't think all the extras were standard at that time. It started out old looking but got better and better as I progressed. The changing rooms really Wowed me. Changing from Turtle room to Rat room to Monkey room to Eagle room. It felt Futurist. The Hops look analog and not HD but they are still Beauties. I especially like the hops with the jewelry, kitchen treats, Christmas scene, garden, dinosaur skull and frig. I counted 16 hops in the main game and 3 in the bonus. You have to use a few things from your inventory to complete them. I had to leave and come back to the hops several times and had more than one started at a time. None are replayable. No Map. Hints will not lead you. I didn't have a problem getting around. But I started playing games before this came out so I don't mind it in old games. It's not the norm now so I don't like it in new games. The puzzles I liked are Labyrinth, target, headless statues, canon. The maze and canon and one other are replayable. I also picked up 3 additional puzzle from collecting the flowers. There are 60 flowers to collect and you have the additional puzzles at 10, 25 and 50 flower marks. 4 long Chapters + Bonus. I wouldn't play this game without the guide. It took me awhile to complete this game. I found it pretty fun. Had no problems what so ever with this game on my Windows 10 PC. Has 8 Concept art, 10 Wallpapers, a screensaver and 4 music tracks that can be saved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING GAMES EVER!!!!! Mystery of Another World along with Grim Tales The Bride and The Legacy are the first hidden object games I was introduced to years ago and it turned me into a HOG junkie. The hidden objects, unique puzzles and unique storyline is what makes this game, its the whole package. It's like being part of an exciting mystery that I have to solve. There was nothing obvious in this game, the mystery did not unfold as you would expect which was great. One would think looking for your lost kid would be boring but not with this unique storyline. This is a fantastic game to play and I wish the newer games could be this exciting instead of the usual boring storyline and gameplay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyable game I really enjoyed this game. When I feared it was coming to an end, I would be pleasantly surprised by more game play. This was also the first HO game I've played where items in your inventory are necessary to complete some of the HO scenes E.g. if you don't have a can opener in your inventory, you can't use it to open the can necessary to complete the HO scene. This adds a level of challenge because you don't know what inventory items are for necessary for completing tasks and which are for completing HO scenes. Very interesting! Here are my pros and cons...take it for what you will, as my pros could be cons for others... Pros -Great value...this game lasts a long time (in a good way!) -Good graphics -Good story -Challenging -Plenty of scenes to explore, and each scene has a good amount of areas to search -Inventory items are needed to finish some of the HO scenes. - Map allows you to teleport to an area - Requires you to have a pretty good memory, as sometimes you'll find a necessary item 15 scenes past the room where you need it ("Finally found this button, now what door lock did I need it for?") Cons - The game map shows an icon that represents the area, In other games, when you hover on an area of the map, it shows a photo of the scene. This map tells you the name of the room. - Game map doesn't show active tasks - Instead of guiding you in a certain direction, the hint button tells you what to do next. E.g. "Go to the airplane and switch the cockpit button to "on" - A few of the tasks are a bit far-fetched. If I hadn't used the hint button I would never in a million years have guessed what to do. - There is some backtracking necessary ("what? I have to go all the way back to the mansion to use the item?") but the map has teleporting. One final note...who the heck keeps taking the handle off of the vice grip on the workbench? I feel like I'm looking for the darn handle in every game I play. People, please don't take apart the vice grip! (and don't even get me started on the missing drawer handles) ;)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnificent! Perfect! Out of this world gaming experience! This is one of the best games through history. It has it all. It is huge and lengthy, and has an awesome amount of locations. They just don`t make games like this anymore, and that is oh, so sad. It has so much to offer: original storyline, so much to do, great and challenging puzzles. This is my third time playing this game and it is better than all games produced in 2016 and most of the ones from previous years. Every adventure/puzzle gamer should have this one in their collection and will be playing it over and over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from what a waste of a day - I LOVED IT!!!! OK _ I hardly ever write these things but this was the best game I have ever played. It was different - not your standard HOS as you frequently had to use an item from your inventory to complete the HOS. The items in the scenes were not your typical easy to find stuff - some yes - but most were clever and pretty cool. The other thing I loved was the map - taking you to a scene instantly - the cut scenes were short and really clever puzzles and mini games. I only skipped one - and that made me want toplay it again in a few days and try to get through that puzzle! Good job - can hardly wait to start the new Surface game - I had to finish this one first! LOVED IT!!!! It was the best wasted day I've had in a LONG TIME.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bobby has a twin and the Evil lord as well? What begins with the abduction of Bobby on a train soon turns into an adventure you will never forget. This is so obscure and wonderful, I can't describe it any better than other rave reviews. This Elephant game was challenging for me but you have to play this to experience it. I don't know how in the world they conceived this one! It's a mind melter for sure. I loved everything about this jewel.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LIFE IN A PARALLEL WORLD CAN MAKE ONE GRUMPY Hi, here is an overview: - 4 chapters plus a bonus chapter. - 3 modes of play: Casual, Advance, Hardcore. - Achievements board. - A map you can use to jump to locations. - You need to find a total of 60 red flowers (including in the extra gameplay); - Voice Overs; - Live actors [why won't they choose me!]. - Integrated Strategy Guide. - Graphics and music are brilliant. - In the hidden object scenes, sometimes you have to use your inventory items to complete them, which can mean going to different areas of the game and then coming back to the HOS. - Three mini-games [these are linked up with the red flowers]. Hint/Skip also charge up in about 30 seconds or less. The hint can also be used outside the HOS if you get lost in the game. - Very long game, so money well spent. Overall a fantastic game. Haven't played a game quite like this before. Frustratingly I only got 58 red flowers [I'm hanging my head in shame and silently swearing], so will start again shortly. Definitely recommend this game. Go on - buy it.
