Really Great Game!!Now this is my type of game. I don't know why I enjoyed it so much, but it kept my interest right until the end. The music was really appropriate for the setting, and that has a lot to do with the creepiness that I really enjoy. I also thought it was clever that the tasks had counters at the top of the page so you knew if you were done with that scene or not. Also, with the gold coins you had to collect. Some collection games don't even have that many extras. Didn't need the map, as it was easy to find your way around. Lots of clever and different puzzles to complete, and other tasks that kept you from getting bored. Would like to see more games like this one. I really enjoyed it.

Enjoyable GameThis game was fun! There are plenty of things to do...collect coins in each scene to build the map, complete iHOS, find an item or two in each scene that must be assembled by locating pieces of the item in the scene, playing the mini games, talking to characters to fill in the back story, complete your list of objectives/goals and complete all the tasks so you can destroy the evil presence in the house.
The graphics are pretty well done. You can also adjust the brightness of the game, which comes in handy in some scenes. The music is okay. The mini games are fun, some of the iHOSs are hard (which was fun) and the various items you have to assemble was entertaining. The ending was very satisfying.
I recommend this game.

Review of a finished game...Overall, this game is nothing fancy, but it kept me going as soon as I started playing. 89 Gold coins to collect, and it will tell you in the upper right of each scene if you got them all, one gold coin comes w/ a photo to add to your map. The map does tele-port, but it does not tell you anything more. The hint button was sometimes the same. It would hi-lite doorways but nothing more. You have to use your brain, but that is what makes this game a challenge. Plz. post ur fav game after u write ur review so that others can chk it out as I do.. ty
game on gamers...

Really enjoyed this game...I will always love this game for two reasons... one, it was the first BFG game that I bought and second because it was fun to play! The storyline makes sense and is easy to follow as long as you use a bit of common sense and logic.
There are of course a few areas where you'll become frustrated if you just try to zip through without paying attention. I don't recall ever having any major technical problems. The only time I did was when you have to use chalk to finish several images. If you run into the same problem, just keep trying and be patient, you'll get it!
I would certainly recommend this game! Its a great challenge for those who are just beginning and fun for those who are already masters at these games!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Unexpected funThis is based on only 1/2 of the demo time and I already liked this game! I read so many reviews (good and bad) and decided to try it. It will be part of my growing collection for sure!
Sound and graphics are great. I love being able to brighten scenes in options! My old eyes need that help. A definite plus on this one.
Like the search for fragments of puzzles, and the search for the coins to create the map as you go. Then it is an interactive map on top of it all - wonderful!
I do miss a proper journal, but that is probably just because most other HOPA have them. Map is far more important.
The music is repititious yet appropriate to create the atmosphere.
The hint button is useful.
Glad I tried this one! Thank you reviewers! It convinced me to check this one out.

Gorgeous graphics with a nice variety of gaming strategiesI thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this spectacular game! It has a very nice mix of adventuring, object finding, and puzzles so that there's not too much of any one thing to irritate the average gamer. I love vivid colors and this one has it in abundance. You can even adjust the brightness to your liking so even the darker scenes can be illuminated enough for you to see what you're looking for.
I thought the blend of snowy scenes with summery ones made for a nice changeup of scenery, as well as finding fragmented objects in addition to the usual word lists in the HO scenes (which are interactive). You can also create a map by collecting coins in each area so you can easily transport yourself to that location later on instead of walking there on your own, but the other option is still available for those like myself who prefer the adventuring.
At the bottom of your screen are three sections: Inventory, Goal, and Objects. When you do a search for fragmented objects, they first go into the “Objects” slot. Then when the object has been put together, it moves into the “Inventory”. The "Goal" section describes your tasks.
There are lots of places to go with lots of things to do. The music and voice over add to the atmosphere, and the refill times for the hint and skip buttons are reasonably quick. The hint button works outside of the hidden object scenes but is sometimes difficult to "follow" in snowfall scenes. It works like a shooting star and I had trouble seeing it in the opening scene when it blended in with the falling snow, but otherwise gameplay was smooth overall. I had a lot of fun with this one.

A delightful gem of a gameI loved this game! The graphics were beautiful, the plot entertaining, and the music was appropriate without being annoying. The storyline was great and the puzzles were challenging without being too difficult. I especially loved the interior shots of the house and the last section in the garden. The end of the game hinted at a sequel? I can only hope. I would love to see more games from this developer!
