Otherworld: Spring of Shadows is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 153.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Watch Out For The Creepy, Eyeless "Shade"!!! I hesitated to begin this series, since I knew Big Fish cancelled the series before it was completed, but I certainly didn't regret it. This game was rather lengthy and chocked full of activities for a standard edition. There were LOADS of achievements to be had. My favorite was when I tried to use my knife to shear the sheep, and I was given the "meanie" award, LOL! What struck me as unique about this game is that you used the same knife and pitcher throughout the ENTIRE game. It's always kind of bugged me that we throw away objects in these games that we usually need a few minutes later. I also liked the hidden object scenes. It wasn't just the usual pile of junk, but each and every HOS was different. I found the "shade" to be rather creepy! If you have too many "mis-clicks" on the HOS, then it comes jumping out at you! All in all, I found this game to be very entertaining and definitely worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely Other World Fantastic! And the Shade with that creepy smile! Boom Zap strikes again with 5 stars in my book. I really like this game. I found the story captivating and the puzzles not so easy but moderate. The scenes where awesome. Having to solve all the different puzzles to collect the flowers to power the locket to save Fiona was awesome. Collecting the hidden faeries was fun too. So if you like this game check out Boom Zap's other game Series. What I have played of them have all been great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, great story Beautiful graphics, great storyline, good puzzles and tasks to complete. I wish it went for a bit longer. One of my favourites, will be getting the other titles in this series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the most beautiful games I have played Not only was the game fun and the challenge level good, this game is really beautiful. The length of the game was good, it didn't drag on forever, yet I felt I got my money's worth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awful dreadful terrible voiceover i loved everything about this game with the exception of her voice! what is it? it seems to change alot-halfway through a sentence it will go from pronouncing every word properly to being a very bad 'cockney' accent. ridiculous. and not even in a funny way.......just terrible

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I've played in a long time This is absolutely the best game I have played in a long time. Excellent story, lots and lots of new puzzles, great graphics, achievements to find and accomplish, and it took me 11.5 hours to complete. I'm not sure what more the CE edition could have added to this great version. I went back and played it through again to see how long it would take knowing the answers to everything and even then it took over 4 hours to finish. What more can I say. If you are looking for a HOG this is not it. If you are looking for puzzles and adventure, you have found it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely one of the best all-around. I just finished playing this one over the weekend and I am very impressed! Always a sucker for the prettiness of a game, this one delivers in spades. Each scene is uniquely beautiful and the puzzles are challenging with an interesting storyline interwoven through it all. The look of the villain leaves much to be desired but I did immensely enjoy having to confront him at the end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT long, engaging game! I am pretty picky when it comes to considering an adventure game GREAT - I try to choose carefully which ones to buy, but usually don't bother rating them once played through to the end - mostly because most non-Collector's Edition games end abruptly with almost ridiculously quick resolution, as if the developers suddenly got bored with their own game and had to finish it. Often also, the Hidden Object scenes become boring obstacles contrived just to delay your progress. THIS game, however, was filled with intriguing mini-games (very intuitive in casual mode; I did not play expert), excellent and carefully spaced hidden object challenges (for example, finding objects based on clues given or finding pairs based a common trait), and a great variety of puzzles, games, and tasks. Most importantly to me, the game was gloriously long, with 6 unique chapters and lots of logical puzzle solving in each chapter. There wasn't a lot of built-in backtracking and retracing steps within chapters, either. It was a long game because there was so much to explore and do, not because the game developers made it hard to do simple things. There is also a concurrent system of earning achievements for things like solving puzzles without hints, finding little fairies hidden in scenes, etc. Nice little bonus. Boom-Zap did a great job with this one. It's one of the rare non-Collector's Edition games that had a very satisfying ending, and attention to detail and good game play throughout. And... they left behind a wide open door to a sequel. Thank you, Boom-Zap! So, if you love games with beautiful scenery, excellent game play, a fanciful story line that's also a little creepy, and a stockpile of magnificent, creative, and varied puzzles, THIS is a must-buy game. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Otherworld - Spring of Shadows This is a fantastic game! The graphics are stunning and all the characters look really crisp and fresh. The characters are of a wide variety and there are some magical and non beings in this game which I like. The graphics of the areas are very crisp and look perfect! There is a wide range of areas in this game and allot of which are different and unique and each has its own flare. Each of the areas is beautiful (even the slightly creepy ones) and each has its own kind of beauty. The main bad guy in this game (The Shade) looks really creepy and the way he just keeps popping up in the game when you don't expect it is fantastic! The kind of bad guy he is is really fresh and new and the way he looks is both unsettling and really intriguing at the same time, which for me is really good. I honestly cannot find any flaws with this game as it has beautiful graphics, amazing characters, an intriguing and (sometimes) creepy storyline and not too easy or too hard HOS's. I would recommend this game to fans of magic, mystical beings and stunning graphics mixed with a really intriguing storyline. So go on, take your mouse, press the BUY or TRY buttons and go save Fiona from The Shade!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow - much more than I expected I love this game. I have been playing for hours and am only half through. The puzzles are very interesting, unique, and fun and well integrated with the story. Nothing is too hard, but not too easy either. Please more games like this. I love the light and brightness of it. I am so tired of dark, dingy mansions.
