Phenomenon: City of Cyan is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 240.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A GAME THAT IS BACK TO THE BASICS - GREAT HOS, PUZZLES, JOURNAL & STORY Only because recent games (2015-2017) have become so carbon copy and because they have deviated from the great HOS of earlier years, I decided to play through my gaming library and I am so happy that I made this choice, not only because it will save me money but because it refreshes what has now become very boring. Phenomenon City of Cyan is not only a gorgeous game but it has terrific HOPS that are multi-tiered. Not only are the HOS creative the items are not always in your face easy to find. I have always loved finding objects from a list rather than by silhouette or by reading through storybook pages, or those tedious match scenes where I must find the matching pairs stashed behind the leaves in a tree or behind items in junk piles. The puzzles are interesting and fun as well as a bit challenging. At least the puzzles are not used to replace the great hidden object scenes. The only downfall in the game is the rather abrupt ending. Honestly, I didn't realize I had finished the game until I found myself at the main screen. I wish there had been some sort of wrap-up to the storyline but perhaps that will come in the next game. If I had my way, the current batch of HOPA developers would take a look at some of the older games that have very high reviews and then perhaps go back to the basics of these excellent older games. Of course there are things I love about some of the newer games but, IMHO, I wish more of them were like City of Cyan. Yes, maybe the voice acting needed some help but I could get past that. I love having a real journal that gives information rather than links to videos within the game. Until there are changes to the newer games, I think I will have to content myself with the older HOPA games that really were worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent oldie I discovered I had never played the third installment of this series, so I started back at the beginning replaying this one. I didn't expect much since it is at least 4 1/2 years old, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed and appreciated it! The scenery was colorful and so beautiful, if not always as sharp as today's graphics. The Hidden Object scenes were interactive and included a scene-within-the-scene feature. The mini-games were innovative, with multi-step jigsaws and logic-type screens to light up with various lanterns. The only things I didn't appreciate, which I remembered from years ago, were the irritating sound each found object caused in the HO scenes, and the abruptness and incompleteness of the ending. But then, it is just the first installment in the series. On to the next one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great This is a fantastic game. The puzzles were just hard enough and the graphics were great. I fully enjoyed this game and plan to purchase more of them

Rated 5 out of 5 by from creative puzzles, nice plot Feeling rather jaded to all the versions of the same few themes, and stumbled across this series. I really enjoyed it; I liked the creative puzzles which I mostly was able to solve. I immediately bought the next two in the series, and am rather sad that there are no more at this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CITY OF CYAN: A CLASSIC GAME AHEAD OF IT'S TIME Although purchased over a year ago, I just got around to playing this game. Plays more like an Adventure--which I LOVE! There were just the right amount of hidden object scenes. I really enjoy futuristic stories and this game does not disappoint. Gamer is immediately drawn into the story and transported to the City of Cyan--almost an Alice in Wonderland type theme--where things are not as they seem. Moral of the story? Science and Governments simply should not experiment with the unknown. Built-in Strategy Guide is a special perk at BFG's awesome regular gaming price. This game will be around a long time for many to enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from what a good and different game Great graphics and voice over. Good music also. The HOS are pretty good and not all that easy. The puzzles are different, new and good. Lots of integrative in this game. Hint button is good and has a map. This is different than most games and is enjoyable. Just a really new game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Different Puzzles, Loved It :D It was so refreshing to have such different puzzles. I have played/purchased enough Big Fish Games that sometimes it gets to be "Same ole, Same ole" with different pictures, but not with this one. I was pleasantly surprised to see totally different puzzles and unique challenges. Yes, they are still hidden object but with very refreshing twists. Well done, to the whole game building crew.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very creative game At first I wasn't impressed by the voice acting, but once I got used to it I discovered this is an amazing game. The puzzles are unique in that there are many interactive areas, with puzzle-within-puzzle challenges. There are clever implementation else where, such as when you have to complete a puzzle on your map. The graphics are also pleasing to the eye. The color scheme makes striking use of cyan, as per the game title. I like that the scenes are not cluttered, so the frustration level is low when you need to find an object.
