Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 163.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! A Great Game, For A Change! It's been a long, long time since I have played a really good Hidden Object (HO) game, and this was it! The underlying theme is familiar, as you can tell by the game's description itself. Your loved one (in this case, fiancé) has gone missing, and you have to go find him, only to learn he has been captured by an ancient evil which intends to use him for its own dark purposes. Not really a new idea, yes, but it has been presented in an original way. It even - nicely - blends this familiar idea with another one: fighting an oppressive society to secure true freedom for the oppressed. But, again, the presentation is quite original *and* interesting. I should also note that if you don't like the idea of an underwater world that the description has mentioned, don't worry! You will be on dry land soon enough, even though it is all still supposed to be taking place underwater. So you get to enjoy both those features: underwater and what appears to be a quite normal world. Except for the "wraiths," of course, which are definitely *not* normal! In addition to the storyline, the music and the graphics are all quite wonderful. The puzzles are also quite reasonable and interesting. The HO scenes are easy enough and actually fun. And if you dislike all the gimmicks we see these days (for example, morphing objects within the HOPs), don't worry. The HOPs are just HOPs with no such nonsense mixed in with them. Finally, I would like to point out that this is only a standard edition. Apparently, Big Fish doesn't even have a Collector's Edition - at least, not just yet. But I was lucky to find a Collector's Edition of this game. So I can assure you (especially to folks who like to play only Standard Editions), the main game is complete in itself. The Collector's Edition does have a (brief) bonus chapter, which tells us just how one of the characters who helps us in the game got to be in the position that he is in. So it is a kind of prequel to the main game. And, yes, there are achievements too in that edition. No morphing objects, collectibles, or any other such nonsense, however. Just straight achievements based on the game itself. So, yes, it's all quite interesting and fun, the bonus chapter as well as the achievements. But nothing really *necessary* to the main game. In other words, you don't *have* to get a Collector's Edition, unless you really *want* to get those extras I mentioned. In short, I really loved this game; and I hope you will too. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's an amazing story I love underwater and space stories or any mystery. I have a nice goose skin and a desire to be with the actors in solving mysteries and mysteries. This game is great in all directions. With each click, it brings new and new tasks, levels of action and surprises. You do not know until the last moment how to continue to develop and what to bring. Sometimes you're trapped in the storm, you're relying on help to find another way. I am surprised to miss this game for several years and I did not buy it earlier. And it is a great pity that these games are so few! Thank you very much to the creators and I wish them many successes in creating more and more similar games. Velmi doporučuji tuto hru.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Addictive, Awesome Highly Recommend !! This game had me addicted !!! Good Lengthy Game that held my attention till the very end which left me satisfied-> ( not wanting more or Less) Good selection of mini games some look easy but are strategically challenging H.O Scenes can be switched to a Domino's game (preferred as I felt H.O scenes were are a little to easy) I have purchased hundreds of H.O games and I have to Rate this one HIGH, as it held my interest & stole my spare time. Huge WOW & THANKS to the Creators~ ( I be looking for that red eyed Rat in the sequel) I have a Massive Collection of these games --> Although I may not leave Reviews for every game. This Game is deserving of My Review HIGHLY RECOMMEND...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hit the mark - underwater adventure in a hidden city dealing with the tyranny of a police state Your fiance, Robert Marceau, disappears while on a dive in the ocean exploring a mysterious wreck. You decide to try and find him by diving down to the wreck and see if you can find him. After entering the wreck, you discover it is a vessel from a secret, hidden society based in an underwater city named Eden. Your movements inside the wreck causes it to shift and plunge into a deep ravine causing you to lose consciousness. When you awake, you see a humanoid creature with glowing eyes and dressed in long flowing robes heading into the underwater city of Eden. After entering the city and riding the airlock elevator to the upper main landing, tremors wrecks the elevator trapping you in the city. You find evidence of Robert being here and that the city is under quarantine for some reason. Posters and other debris indicates that something has happened to place the city in a police state patrolled by these humanoid creatures called Legates. It seems a resistance movement has also started against this oppressive group. You must find Robert and save him but to do so means dealing with the Legates and the resistance. The graphics were very well done providing just the right ambience for this underwater adventure. Sounds and voices were excellent and made the game so much more enjoyable. Music was varied and non-intrusive and was very plesant throughout the game. There is a journal that provides a nice summary of the story with notes and an objectives list. The hint button works well and you do receive a map after a bit into the game that shows locations requiring action but is not interactive so you wind up back tracking a bit. The map does show a thumbnail of each location when cursored over. The graphics are so nice that you don't really mind the traveling. There are plenty of HOS and puzzles to do and items found are usually used within a few screens. Puzzles were fairly easy and fit the objective requirements. HOS were list type and included interactive items in each scene including some just for fun. For those who didn't want to do the HOS, there was an option to switch to a domino game instead. As I like HOS, I did not play any dominos so not sure just how it was played. There are also some achievements to earn such as not using hint, no skip of puzzles, etc. And a very well done bonus chapter that provides a beginning story on what led up to the current situation. When you finish the game and return to the start screen, be sure to click on bonus chapter to play it as it does not start automatically.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Underwater Adventure This game is unique and different. I has a good balance of HO and adventure mixed in. In this game you have to find the missing fiance in a variety of different underwater scenes. I plan on buying this game because I was hooked on the 60 minute demo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a smashing little game I really enjoyed playing this game. The Graphics are very good and the storyline compelling. The Hos are not difficult and are made quite interesting. The puzzles are not too difficult but are quite interesting. I particularly liked the inclusion of "The last Chapter" An extra playable game section which updated what had gone on before. the what had happened. All in all a thoroughly good enjoyable game, I would recommend this game to any one.
