Customer Reviews
Les Miserables: Cosette's Fate is rated 1.7 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Old fashioned HOP Game It never fails to amuse me to see people who downloaded a hidden object puzzle game complain bitterly when the game they downloaded has lots of hidden object scenes. On the other hand, it's too bad when these people tear a game apart because it is what it is and not the type of game they prefer. It isn't the game's fault they wanted a HOPA and downloaded a HOP instead. This game's quality is not accurately reflected by the ratings it has received from people who downloaded a hidden object game in spite of not really caring too much for hidden object scenes. It is an older game. Whether or not you think it's fair to put it out as "Today's New Release", as Big Fish did today, it's silly to rate a game based on your annoyance at receiving an older game instead of a brand new one. The game doesn't deserve the poor ratings it got from people who don't think it's fair to call it a new release and are venting their annoyance in their review. The graphics are very sharp and visually appealing. Game play is straightforward with HOS at every turn, frequent puzzles, and a very minimal "adventure" component. Unlike many modern HOPA games with amazing graphics and childishly easy HOS/puzzles this one has great HOS to match the great graphics. Things are well hidden but not small. The scenes are clever but not cluttered. The puzzles are generally easy but fun to do. The story is a good one borrowed from a major classic novel. The music fits the theme and is unobtrusive. I didn't hear any baby crying noise or any other sounds that were a problem. Drawbacks include a mildly laggy custom cursor that cannot be traded for the system cursor and an inventory that won't lock. I really like this game. I have purchased others designed like it in the past and had a lot of fun with them. If you're a fan of HOS games and would like a break from the tedious to and fro running around in more modern HOPA games you might like this one too. If you don't like HOS you should give it a miss...what you shouldn't do is download a game you know you won't like just so you can pile on and complain about it. And hey, given that it's being released in December it's also a very, very welcome break from the deluge of sappy Christmas HOPA's that Big Fish has been shoveling out lately. Quite honestly, that alone is enough to make this game stand out as desirable right about now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lighten up guys! I looked at the reviews before I played the demo and expected the worst mess of the century - it wasn't! Yes there was an awful lot of HO's and most were repeated but the complaint that objects were too small and difficult to find suggests that you lot have had it way too easy of late because although hard the HO's were not impossible, you just had to get used to the way the dev treated such scenes. The game followed a logical sequence and though I didn't like the absence of voice-overs I found the overall feel of the game to be quite charming in an old-school kind of way! It was also a refreshing change to find a storyline that had no hint of the supernatural (I think there are far too many fairies, dragons, witches, goblins etc etc these days) and no "little helper" either!!! I only played the demo so I have no idea where the story went which would have been the main point of purchase. Overall not a great game but not as terrible as some suggest, but I would only recommend it to players who are nuts about HO's. I may consider buying it as a freebie or on sale but not at the moment. Try it and see is all I can say!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was OK I'm afraid this game wasn't for me, the characters don't speak, there are only words on the screen, and although I do love hidden object scenes, there were to many for me! Others may enjoy the game, but I'm afraid I didn't.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too many HOS, but... it isn't a bad game at all, if you like HOS. Unfortunately, I don't. I am more for the adventure and puzzles, and this one doesn't deliver those. There is no adventure, to speak of, and the puzzles are way too easy. I am one of the few who actually like quite a few Hdo games. They tend to be short, but otherwise are pretty well made. This one, well. Pros: Decent artwork and graphics, decent storyline (well, sure, it's a classic, LOL), and decent audio if you can ignore the short loops. HOS were quite challenging. Cons: Few options. Slow transitions. Rather melodramatic, which fits the story, but not to my taste. One of my pet peeves: anachronisms. A wooden toy airplane in 1826?? Really?? If you like classic HOGs, then you may find this quite to your liking. Do try it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Little HO This game would be good for beginners and some of us HO puzzle doers. The graphics are very good. Easy game good story line. Only thing to complain about is some items being too small in HO's.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Les Would Be Les Miserable The father of Fantine's daughter has abandoned her, giving Fantine no choice but to leave her daughter, Cosette, with the innkeepers as she searches for work in the city. Fantine has no idea that the Thenardiers have turned Cosette into an all purpose maid. This is yet another old fashioned click and drag HdO with mundane tasks, repetitive music, sluggish mechanics and bland graphics made up of brown and gray hues, nothing more, nothing les! Each scene has a Hidden Object Scene, you do have the ability to zoom into the scene, but all of the items simply blend together because there just isn't any color. To make matters worse, the HOS are repeated in the same location at least once. Each scene has at least one simple mini game such as arranging matryoshka dolls on shelves according to color and size with the clues given. The only feature even remotely interesting in this game is the fun facts given about the author, and characters in the original novel. There are several opaque butterflies that will give you fun facts when clicked on, and the butterflies can be found within the HO's as well as the main game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wanted to like it. There's nothing to do but follow the arrows. Nothing the explore that isn't pointed out to you. You can't pick up items until you need them. The HOs are grainy and monochromatic and hard to see the objects. The ones I completed were mostly luck from clicking on random things, not because I saw what I was looking for. It is too bad that none of the amazing developers stepped in to help on this one. I didn't even finish the demo, it just wasn't fun.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lame! Lame!!!! I know I was prolly expecting too much....but what a let down... The story line is sketchy and the graphics are not very good...like a bad cartoon... The hints were hard to see and took a long time... The reason I needed hints was that they were calling things strange names... All in all....I came out of the game way before the trial was thru....the mini games weren't bad....but just not good at all.....even for $6.99 club price...not sure that I would play it even if it were free!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Miserable This is a very old game, I played it many years ago, it is not fair that this could come back now as a new game. BF knows that we are playing their games every day so please do not take us for...
