Rated 5 out of 5 by from DESTROY THE DARK STONE REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME What a terrific game and I really enjoyed it. Now, this is a really long game, so you will need to get comfortable. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual and Expert modes of play; * Diary; * Interactive map. The graphics are okay. Some scenes are a bit dark and cluttered, but I was able to easily get items that were needed. A few scenes looked hand drawn and old school, but as soon as I got off the ship (eventually), the graphics became much brighter and more crisp. The graphics are not to everyone's taste, but I was so engrossed on playing the game that I really didn't mind. Sound is good and there are a variety of pieces of music to listen to which play quietly in the background. Now, if you like hidden object games, then you will love this. There are a phenomenal amount of them - two per scene. These are slightly interactive. If they are highlighted yellow, then you know there is something to do with that item. I really enjoyed them as they were challenging without being frustrating. Remember, this is a long game so there are plenty of them. The mini-games were fun to do. I've seen them all before but there were a great variety and had a few of my favourite ones in them. Some took me a while to do. What you think is easy can have a twist to them to make you think. I played them all and loved it. The interactive map works well if you need it as there are a lot of locations to go to. I played on Expert mode, so there was no icon to tell me where tasks are to do. I'm pretty sure there will be if you play in Casual mode. All up the game took me a good 9 hours to do. I thought that when I got off the ship, that would be the end of the game - boy was I wrong. Overall, a fabulous game. Honestly, when I bought the game I just thought it would be a fill-in between all the big games we play and be over in 3 hours, but I was proved wrong. This game kept going and going. I could have gone another 9 hours because it was that good. Definitely worth having a look at and putting in your collection. Please forgive the graphics, but the ambiance and fun you will have playing the game will make it more than worth it. Happy playing fishies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sargasso Sea, The Dark Stone, and an Island of abandoned ships! Mystery of Sargasso Sea is a LONG PLAYING adventure game for Hidden Object Enthusiasts. For an SE I give it a 4.5 rating. The intro cut scene captured my attention and after finishing the demo I knew I wanted to purchase or use a game credit. The graphics were good. Mainly pseudo-realism, the graphics could have been better but I was still enthusiastic enough to continue. Cut scenes remain the best visuals. The wind in the background is suitably ghost-like. The voiceovers were good, while I quite enjoyed the accents, some many not. We seem to have wandered into a ships’ graveyard, haunted by a ghost/Pirate who needs souls to feed the “Dark Stone” that rewards him with eternal life. We meet other ghosts who help in whatever ways they can. The story and game play running time is around 8 hours. The directives are linear and clear but you have to concentrate and remember places and inventory because you don't get the jump-map. I don't remember even seeing a map? As you progress thru the objectives you soon realize this is mainly a HOG game, very few puzzles. There is some adventure, but basically this is a save yourself and defeat evil story wrapped around a framework of HOPs. There are interactive lists, with some interesting activities, each visited twice. There is not much animation, which makes a game feel flat but if the developers had a bigger budget this could have been marketed as a Collector Editon. As I say, there are only a few puzzles so far, but there is a fair amount of (easy) adventures, finding a key, getting into safes, that sort of thing. My final verdict is that it's a wonderful game to spend many, many hours of casual game play. If your on the fence play the demo. The story is original and I look forward to more from this developer. Give it a try, players of every level can enjoy this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasant Surprise I really, really liked this game. For me, it was quite challenging and is a bit different from the bigger name game developers. My single reason for playing Big Fish games is the Hidden Object portion thus the reason for my high rating. The game is filled with wonderful HOs. To the Developers: Good Job!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved Sargasso Sea Absolutely loved this game, solving problems was not always with the obvious choice of tools, plenty of puzzles, game flowed well from one place to another. No bugs. Well worth the price. Just one thing, the ascent was a little hard to understand but then you could read the text if you needed to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Hidden Object Game I like this game. Cozy atmosphere and soft music. Interesting navigation map reveals the structure of ships. Enough new story - the game runs on ships from different eras. Hidden Object caught with interesting puzzles. Puzzles unobtrusive and awesome graphics. The game is played not so long. Learned a lots about ships of different years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Haunting nautical tale I beta tested this game over a year ago and have been waiting for it ever since. I have literally been haunted by it, remembering the scenes all this time. Wonderful detailed graphics and spooky atmosphere. Many HOPS but mechanical puzzles are few and far between. Being a musician I appreciated the piano tuning puzzle--it is exactly how you tune an instrument. Immediate buy for this long awaited pleasure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Have Until Midnight! You are sailing your small boat when you come across an eerie graveyard of ships, there is a strange green fog surrounding everything, is that an abandoned cruise ship? Suddenly out of nowhere green lightning strikes, you are tossed about and knocked out cold. When you finally open your eyes you are gazing into the cold green eyes of a sinister man, "you have 24 hours before you die!" Well that gives you plenty of time to snoop around the abandoned cruise ship in search of clues and inventory and possibly escape this madman. The HOS are very well done, they are interactive and I for one had a hard time finding a few hidden objects! They do double up on the scenes so be sure to backtrack occasionally. The music is good and the atmosphere is creepy although some of the graphics could have been better. There are a lot of HOS but not a lot of mini games. Nothing new pick a lock with a file and hairpin, or tune a piano one key at a time by turning the wrench, the key you are tuning will turn red if incorrect, yellow if close and green if good to go. The map doesn't show areas of interest at least in hard mode it doesn't but you can use it to travel. A really interesting game for a stand alone standard edition, it is well worth the buy, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from **IMMERSIVE STORY GETS 5 STARS** Sailing alone on your yacht, your entire boat literally gets pulled into a graveyard for ships. Among the other fallen vessels, you see a much larger steamship, "The Sea Pearl" that vanished during it's 1923 voyage. More of the same where evil spirit#s# needs living souls, but there is an intriguing story that elevates the game and makes gamer want to proceed and learn more. Ambience is hauntingly noteworthy with eerie background piano music which lends an urgency to the fact you must find your way out before the moon is full. Hurry! Hidden objects can be found--not too difficult--not too easy, and are time era appropriate and interesting. You get to open drawers and doors and boxes to find hidden objects. Developers did their homework and put a lot of work and effort into the game--it's not just another cookie cutter, dog and pony show. Razzle dazzle 'em! Way to go, BFG! I love your games and appreciate more of the standard edition games released lately. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
