Hidden Expedition: Smithsonian Hope Diamond Collector's Edition is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value Loved how many times the storyine changed the venue. Also LOVE that the collector's edition allows you to play all the hidden object scenes repeatedly and records how well you do. Also love that you can replay all of the mini-games. The games that give you all the hidden object scenes as a group are my favorites. You don't have to replay the whole game to play the scenes again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Entry My favorite type of hidden object game plays more like an adventure, with the search elements blended into the storyline. This game does that in spades, and creates a very fun environment that also gives you plenty to think about in terms of storyline. Anyone familiar with the excellent "Hidden Expedition" series likely already knows how fun that series is, but in case you have not, you generally head to interesting parts of the world in search of artifacts. This installment ups the ante, starting you right off toward the end of the tale and working your way back up to that point. It gets the pace and excitement going and I really enjoyed that. The Smithsonian signed off on its inclusion in this tale about one of the world's most mysterious artifacts, the Hope Diamond, and you can see why. In addition to giving you a solid scholarly version of the action hero, you will collect cards giving you facts about the museum that are truly interesting and add to the story. The tone was just right as it never hit you over the head or made it a book report. In the CE, you'll also collect Smithsonian symbols and the standard morphing characters. Bonus chapter was one of the few letdowns for me, as it took what up until that point had been a science-based story and turned it into complete fantasy. You can also gather "souvenirs" from the various places you've been too, but it's just random stuff without much explanation. Given that this is based on a museum, that could have been done better as well. But these are minor quibbles. The game itself moves along nicely, involves plenty of minigames that are just hard enough, and keeps the HO scenes interesting with different layered versions throughout. Graphics and sound are both well done. If this is what we have to look forward to from this series, count me very much in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game of the Year Candidate! I haven't given a 5 star rating in a long time. This game deserves it. My fellow reviewers have written great reviews with all the details. I just want to thank the developers for giving us a game that doesn't rehash stories with witches, monsters, lost sisters, and dark locations. I don't think I'll be buying any more of that kind of game. It was fun to have a modern story in modern locations. And it was a hoot to see a couple of scenes from the original Hidden Expedition HOG's!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smithsonian Hope Diamond- Hidden Expedition game- SUPER! The Smithsonian Hope Diamond hidden adventure game is exactly what I hoped it would be-well done! Particularly like the Hidden Expedition games-the graphics are outstanding and bits of humor thrown into the storyline equals great fun. From the Amazon to DC-having fun and genuine challenges with these excellent games. Thanks so much for series...have to say, love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Hidden Object Game I've Played This is my first review, despite the 100s of games I've played. I just had to mention this is by far my favorite HOG thus far. It's not creepy yet fun, vibrant and challenging. Love the graphics, does not drive you crazy looking for the next clue and everything is visibly clear. This game is "just right." More games like this and less creepy, gory, dead and ghost-themed games please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent game I just played this game, I don't know how I missed it when it first came out, but it is so worth it. Absolute joy to play. Love the graphics and cutscenes. I also really liked learning facts as you play. Game is not very hard, so it makes the game flow easily. lots of locations and things to do. Mini games and HOSs are very interactive. Watch for morphs there. Never once got bored or wanted it to end. Like many games, once I get bored with them I don't even bother playing the bonus. You can replay HOS if you missed something. This game is a real joy to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly Epic game This has to be one of the best games around. A fabulous adventure with outstanding graphics, voiceovers, and great fun. Mini games for the most part were easy enough, and the HOS were clever and innovative. Credit to all involved in an outstanding game

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hidden Object game I really enjoyed this game. Puzzles and hidden objects were fun. It wasn't too challenging for first time play and you can change the difficulty you prefer. After you finish the game you can go back and complete goals to master all the achievements. For me the game flowed well and I was glad there was an extra episode at the end. Good buy in my book.
