Awakening: The Redleaf Forest is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Actually like this one alot I have struggled in the past with the Awakening games, not enough guidance on what needs to be done. This one has a map that takes you where you need to go which I don't remember from the others. The story is good for me though to be honest I don't really cue in much to the storyline all the time. Graphics beautiful, challenging enough without making me want to hiss...well worth it. Maybe people with more expertise think this one has been "dumbed down" but I really like it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Adequate ending for the series I thought this was a good ending for the Awakening series. Not great but good. The graphics and sound are fine. The puzzles are the standard ones, which after as many games as I've played are getting pretty easy. I do like the HOS mix - sometimes words, sometimes images, sometimes you are finding objects, sometimes putting things back. A few times the story flow didn't quite help with telling me what I had to do next and I had to resort to looking at the map but not that often. The length was good. I'm glad I didn't let myself be put off by the negative reviews and plaid the series to the end.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from FELT LIKE AN EXTREMELY LONG GAME... Took me weeks to finish because I didn’t find it that interesting, exciting or relaxing. The only Awakening game I HAVE enjoyed is Moonfell Woods. Note: you can’t change your level of difficulty once you have started playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To do that, you have to start as a new player. SETTINGS, ART and GRAPHICS: Outdoors, cliffsides, valleys, tents, centaurs, dwarves. Nice backgrounds in parts, but otherwise VERY CARTOON-LIKE in many parts. Very clean and suitable for kids of any age. STORY: Dreadmyre has cursed Sophia’s parents and now they are in an eternal slumber. You must go on a quest to find the centaur who can forge the sword to lift the curse from Sophie’s parent. HOGS & PUZZLES: Not too many HOGS. Lots of adventure and puzzle. MAP: OK, hover on a circle and a small picture will appear. HINT BUTTON: Good. (((BONUS game in CE edition only: The bonus game LOOKED so much better, both artistically and the quality and definition of the graphics. Why couldn’t they make the MAIN game of that quality throughout???))) TASKBAR: Stays visible at all times. LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY : 3 and NOT interchangeable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointing I have loved the Awakening Series especially the earlier games The Dreamless Castle and Moonfell Wood which is my favourite game ever. This last game was a bit of slog to get through and I needed the hint a lot just to know where to go next. There are far fewer puzzles and they were a bit too easy . It was OK but not great.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really good for a free game coupon I tried this game as a CE and could not get through the demo. I felt patronized. I do not like a game whose creator thinks I am a dimwitted dolt. Well a few months land many expiring game coupons later I decided to risk it. It was better than tolerable. I remembered what I had found enchanting about the first one or two in the series. I did also realize that I still did not really enjoy the insult to my intellect. Is this game geared towards the 10 year old? It was o.k. but I am relieved they are wrapping up the series. I think the developers are better than this creation and I look forward to whatever else they come up with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing Conclusion Awakening had been my favorite series so far, but this last episode really fell below what the authors used to give us: - The storyline is thin compared to the previous episodes. - The idea of tearing a soul in parts and putting them in objects is an obvious page-ripping from Harry Potter. - There is no explanation to the gap between Dreadmyre the supervillain and Patrick Dreadmyre who served Sophia's parents from the 4th episode. - Grimble's design has changed so much that he was unrecognizable. - And finally, the games were really unchallenging compared to those in the previous episodes. This game could be for beginners, while the previous ones were for intermediate to advanced players. I really have the impression that the authors just wanted to wrap up the series in haste and just be done with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Drag(on) Down Based on playing 30 minutes of the demo, I found this game to be boring and stupid in spite of all the supposedly exciting (?) action and disaster happening right at the beginning. There's too much dialogue, too many cut scenes, too many puzzles lacking sufficient instructions. Plus, in only 30 minutes, I practically wore out the hint button. I could hardly quit fast enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thank goodness for demos! What a disappointment! I was looking forward to another Awakening game but this is not the game I was waiting for. It was torture just getting through as much of the demo as I did, I couldn't finish it. Illogical steps, constant back and forth for one stupid little thing, exactly the type of game play I do not like. Glad I did the trial, almost used a game credit for this one just because of the name. What's up BoomZap? I love your games...just not this time.
