Detective Quest: The Crystal Slipper is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 77.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quirky yet awesome! This was a quirky spin on the Cinderella tale, but it was great fun and good value for money. There were some fun and imaginative fantasy monsters. The length was just right, the puzzles interesting, the HOS were excellent with a few variations on how to complete them, and the game was not too linear in it's approach. I would happily play this one again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A magical game This is one of the best games I've ever played. The graphics are exceptionally beautiful. The sound effects and music are also good. The hidden objects are great, with animation making them more interesting. The storyline fit well with the game. The only thing I think could have been improved is that the mini-game puzzles are a little too easy. I played the standard edition of the game, and the creators of the game obviously put a lot of work into it. Definitely good value for money. If you like magic, fairy tales, and unicorns, this game is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very enjoyable game! This game is a takeoff on the Cinderella failry tale. The prince asks you to help find the beautiful girl he danced with last night. But there is a wicked fairy trying to take over the kingdom, and she has kidnapped the girl and taken her to a secret place. Your job is not only to find her, but to defeat the wicked fairy. You have help along the way from a pet ermine. The hidden object scenes require you to replace objects where they belong rather than finding them. The way you play the game is rather standard: look for objects that will help you, then try to remember where you have to go back to in order to use them. The hint button recharges fairly quickly in casual mode though, and if you have trouble deciding what to do next, the hint button is very helpful. You can also use the interactive map to see where there are objectives to meet, and even click on the map to travel to those places. The art work in this game is very beautiful which adds to the fun of playing the game. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEYOND AWESOME This is a breathtakingly beautiful journey through a fairytale storybook brought to life. You feel transported into another world as the stunning visuals bring you through palace treasuries , forests filled with classic medieval creatures like Griffins , Harpies and unicorns, Dragon lairs filled with gold and rare objects, and so much more as you quest to find Cinderella.. she's not called that in the game, but it's the classic Cinderella story in every way except the name. The hidden object scenes are wonderful. Rather than the normal hunt-and-click hidden object scenes, you are provided with an inventory of objects that "fit" into the scene and you have to place the objects into or onto the correct object in the scene in order to complete the scene. Every time you place an object a clever and fluid bit of animation accompanies it, such as placing a sword in the hand of a knight causes him to swing the sword. It's total high quality from beginning to end. The map in the game allows you to jump from one location to any other location you have already visited which saves a lot of time, and the map also clues you in to where there are still tasks to be completed, so if you get stuck just look at the map and it will tell you where you need to go. The puzzles are excellent, not too hard and not too easy. I averaged between 5 and 8 minutes per puzzle. Most of them are moderate in difficulty , a few are simply easy. But mostly the puzzles strike exactly the right balance to make them enjoyable without being frustrating. This is everything that a hidden object adventure game should be. I very highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game - Highly recommended I won't rehash things people have already said. I did love this game because of the way they handled the HOS. Yes, the graphics are beautiful and pretty much everything i dislike in other game was absent here. :P The fact that Giselle's name was pronounced differently didn't bother me. We Americans must get used to the fact that all our great games are produced in other countries. For all we know we may be pronouncing it incorrectly. Anyway i loved the game and hope for more like it. I wish i had bought the CE and perhaps i will.  I highly recommend this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Darkness - What a treat! This games was fun, even a little silly. But that is what I liked best. With the glut of dark, creepy AHOG's out there over the past bazillion years, this was just fun. It was a good combination of linear and "having to think about it." There is a lot of hopping around, but the map can be used to travel, tells you the tasks that need to be done at each location and even provides "reminder pics" to help remember the place. Puzzles wise, they were pretty easy. But, that was in line with the good-spirited fun this game is all about. A cold Saturday pleasure.. .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game with a twist I really enjoyed playing this game. The storyline was not terribly original, but it was still enjoyable. The game play and "kingdom" were involved and engaging. The twist was that instead of finding objects, you were shown objects that had to be placed into the scene in their correct locations. I thought the game lasted long enough to be worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wonderful fairytale Love the game. I'm not fun of spooks what usually gamers of Big Fish prefer. Very relaxing for girls who has intellectual work in real life :-)))). it's very lovely, very girly and and the same time very brainy. story line is interesting, played the game in one breath. puzzles are unusual and not boring (tired of different modifications of the same puzzles). HOGs are brainy as well - you have to find without special hint where the objects belong to. Story line isn't boring - starts from well known Cinderella story and ends up in total magical twist. level of challenge not that complicated - well.... I was happy about not to going around from one screen to another to submit the objects. but very much predictable which doesn't make this game less fascinating :-) Graphics are beautiful, characters are well done and nice. Voices over not overdone. I recommend this game for people who like to keep their mind outside of dark deeds. In another word for people who like to recharge their emotional batteries in beautiful world :-) Simply loved it and will play it couple of times again for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from loved the game What a bargain for a game. I did not purchase the CE game but thoroughly enjoyed the game. What a fun way to spend some winter hours at play. I cannot say anything bad about the game. I really enjoyed all of the puzzle games and especially the "hidden object" games because they made you think about where to place things. The graphics were fantastic. Have nothing bad to say about anything about the game except "Bravo".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lovely fairy-tale!!! (Differences to the CE...) This review is based on playing the complete CE, with 7 chapters plus the bonus-chapter. Played the demo of this SE to find any differences… Wonderful settings! With elements from the cinderella fairytale. I love fairytale based games!! There are 3 modes to play, I played the 2nd mode. Hint refills quickly and is also helpful outside the HOS. HOS are different to the usual ones: You put items out of your list into the scene. Lots of minigames, some new. The inventory comes along with a flashlight and a camera. With this camera you take pictures of 30 fairy-creatures hidden throughout the game. Those pictures are collected in a photoalbum. Nice: We have an interactive map together with a task-list. - All in all this is a very beautiful game! And for those, who are still hesitating: This SE is still a very good catch, because the only difference is, that there is no bonus-chapter and no SG.
