Atlantic Quest 2: The New Adventures is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cleaning Up the Seas As the game starts out it seems that it was made for kids, but as you progress through the 124 Levels (it said 125, but I couldn't play the last one), the game becomes harder. You have three ways to play, swap, chain or group and you can change anytime. This game is timed to earn stars. If you complete a board within 3 minutes you receive 3 stars; within 3 min 30 seconds you receive two stars, and anything after that 1 star. There are trophies to win and powerups to earn. There are breaks to put together hidden objects to help the sea creatures. There are also some obstacles like oil and rocks. Overall an easy game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another Atlantic Quest Storyline is similar to first this but they've gone a bit farther in trying to develop the storytelling and fish characters. Their development falls flat for me personally. Like first game, you are not only clearing tiles on the board, but popping bubbles on fish/coral swimming in the background. It's unique and a good feature. The game gives you three modes of play- Swap, Chain, Group. You have the icons for all three at bottom of the screen and you can change modes within the game. You will most likely have no choice but to use the three modes in each game because, like it or not, this is a timed game. To beat the clock, I had to switch modes. There are Fragmented Object interludes which are very basic. Once you get the object assembled we get one screen where the fish characters say like "Yeah, we assembled the broken key so now we can open the gate" but we don't get any other graphic showing us the key doing it's job…. so the FO scenes just end up seeming extraneous and dull. By adding one more screen showing us what the key does, the game would have been improved dramatically. You progress along a map but the story relies too much on dialog between the fish characters & skimps on artwork depicting action. Pearls drop to the bottom of the board for get power-ups associated with our fish friends. Matching large number of tiles yields a "Charged Tile" but that tile is very hard to see. A major flaw. They just put a tiny white thunderbolt to the charged tile. Next to impossible to see… so they skimped there too. The music is quite varied and better than average. Overall, this game doesn't improve that much over the first, IMO. I recommend this with reservations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still great, but not in all areas.. I got the first AQ when I was going through physical therapy, and it helped a lot. It's still in my 'Top 5'. :o) This version is not better but not worse. The Good: * Beautiful artwork - just as the first game * New characters that also have powerup abilities * A few challenges thrown in * More levels to play * Background music; I found it relaxing. The Bad: * I miss the tiles from the first game; these seem slightly smaller. * Where's the 'breaking glass' sound? When you make a match in the first game, there was this cool shattering effect. The one here is not annoying by any means; it's just not the same. More pros than cons, so I can honestly recommend it. :o)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just one odd little... well, oddness... You can't beat this series for mindless. uncomplicated, relaxing fun. What else can I say really? Simple match 3 with a bit too much made of a hum drum story, but you can skip through all the dialogue. I do like a good story, but in match 3's, it really doesn't add anything to the game for me. So, I bought it. I'm playing it now, but someone please tell me if I'm crazy - the background music, tho relaxing and unobtrusive, is almost exactly, note for note, the theme from "Mr Brooks". So I'm playing my little fishy game and thinking of serial killers.... ahem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a good one This game has more good going for it than bad. Matter of fact the only bad thing in my opinion is the music. I think a little more variety in the music and I would have gave it 5 stars. The caricatures in the game are really cute and funny. The game play is ok with the powerups being hard to see at times. The graphics are really well done. I do recommend this game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Juvenile but fun Really for kids but a nice brain break from "doom and gloom" and other games that make you think. Similar to the first but more interaction with the fish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Time Waster Passable M3, nothing new going on here. There is no time limit however the faster you can complete a level the more stars you will get per level. It does get quite challenging if your goal is to get all three stars each level. You will likely have to rely on the power ups that you can earn. This game is just ok. My only complaint is that randomly during game play a window will pop up reminding you that you can change to another type of game (even mid game) ie: chain, group, etc. The option is great but I don't need to have my game play continuously stopped for it. I have to admit I am wondering if I am doing something to cause this, I don't think so but please let me know.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh... semi-impressed Pros: - The game memory management is very good; no lag time. - The graphics are well-done, even if unappealing (to me). Cons: - The game tiles are too small. - There are not enough (or obvious enough) indicators for achievements/bonuses. - The power-ups are not visible enough. This is yet another in a long line of passable, but not truly worthy-of-a-purchase non-HOG games. The market is inundated with HOGS with not enough variety of other games. I'd really like to see some quality match-3 games being released. There haven't been any exceptional ones in a long time. This is no exception.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from New Adventures? So new it's not really. But it's fun. The graphics are nice. The music ok. For the meantime quite well. However, I had expected more. It would have been much more possible.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR I would have given this game 5 stars hands down except for one big issue. Using the swap mode, just moving the cursor over the board actually moves tiles, making matches that I never intended to make and that weren't necessarily the most advantageous. This drove me crazy. I finally just gave up and ran my cursor all over the board, letting it make matches without me even looking for them. This is not even playing, it is just acting as an observer as the game does its own thing. I tried to play only in the chain mode, but this is not possible. There would be no matches available under this mode, forcing me to switch to the swap mode, and again activating this automatic matching frenzy. So, no challenge to this game at all. What a disappointment, as it is one of the few games that uses the chain style of matching tiles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible If you have children then this would be fine for them, but for me it was sooo boring I couldn't even finish the trial. The gameplay was beyond simple, even mind numbing. The overall feel was dated, and childish. It seemed the maker had no real concern over making this game, and it showed in all the aspects of the game. A no go for me.
