Stranded in Time is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I liked this game but..... I tried the trial version and was intrigued - so I purchased the full game. I was surprised that there only a small amount of the story line left and less than an hours worth of play....so I was very disappointed that the game didn't last longer! It was good - don't get me wrong, but not worth the purchase, in my opinion, due to the lack of content..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clumsy controls Its not that bad, controls are a bit clumsy, the hint is at an area, but u cant jump there. If the hint is over a hotspot, and u click it, it will exit to hotspot but DOES NOT take you to the spot where u hv to do something I was tearing my hair trying to get back to the jeep to get shovel, etc but I couldnt, tried like 5 mins, b4 I finally created another profile and this time round, note how I got to the cave site. Then I simply backtracked via the church, and truck! I kinda of love it although the conversation can be a tad longish, but is totally funny. Characters esp the female is very likeable

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I've Been Stranded With Worse Setting: your Uncle Peter is a sort of kooky explorer with a lot of "alien" ideas. He's asked you to come help investigate a surprising find. Upon arriving, you find that he's already enlisted the help of Nick, who is a writer about your age (est. mid 20's). There is a LOT of reading of dialog - but by itself that would not be too bad. Two things made it worse. First, the dialog window is a fixed size and is very large, able to show a dozen or so lines. But most communications are only 2-3 lines so there is a big empty space which looks awkward. Second, if there is going to be a lot of dialog, the conversations ought to be interesting. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. About 95% of the dialog is semi-inane and does not advance the story. I found myself clicking through without reading after a few minutes. As with most adventure games, there is less hand-holding than the typical HOPA. Unless you have a photographic memory, you'll need to refer to the included journal to know which items you're supposed to retrieve for someone or use to complete a task. The artwork is cartoon style, which actually plays well with the (semi-inane) dialog. There is very little detail, just representative elements in each of the scenes. But it works with the story and overall environment used. The demo is very short, and so game length is a concern. My opinion is that for adventure game fans, if the style appeals to you - or you can overlook it - this seems like a light, slightly amusing game that could return some snowy day entertainment value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun if you are used to this kind of game play If you are used to traditional HOGs... if you like sparkles to show you the way... if you want to race through each scene... if you depend on lots of dialogue and black-bar tips instead of reading... if you think cartoons are just for kids... this isn't the game for you. I like it! There are no HOS, but you still search for items. You search for reasonable items in reasonable places (for instance, look for the tool in the basement not the refrigerator). Take your time, look around, see what you can add to your inventory. There are puzzles, some simple and expected, others harder and more original. I wish the inventory was available without clicking the backpack, but I can live with that. The demo was a lot more fun than buying a husky a stereo system (alluding to one of last week's CEs)! Cartoons are NOT just for kids!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Will This Be The Worst Game Of The Year ... Graphics & Sound From Many Eons Passed ... I Love A Good Sci-Fi Game, And I Had Hoped This No HOG Adventure Would Have Had More To Offer ... Short On Quality & Game Length ... It Was Barely Worth The Voucher ...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A Classic Adventure Game? By Who's Standards? I'd rather be stranded on a deserted island (with no internet) for the rest of my life, than to be stranded in this time warp of a game any longer! The graphics are as basic as it gets, I don't mind cartoonish graphics, but these graphics are stranded in time, Atari time! Thankfully there aren't any voiceovers because I'm sure that wouldn't be up to par either. There are a ton of dialog boxes to read, which are mostly useless conversations, to make matters worse, there are several grammar mistakes. The story has been done, re-done, reheated, flipped over, boiled and recycled. Olivia has joined her eccentric Uncle Peter and his partner, Nick, on an expedition to prove that citizens from Atlantis had actually lived on this planet. Uncle Peter is an avid Conspirologist who believes that the pyramids were built by aliens from Andromeda, Olivia and Nick are more level headed however, they are too busy flirting with each other to form any opinions. You can consider yourself lucky if you find more than one inventory item per scene, although almost every item shown in the scenes will have a finger icon, tricking you into believing that the item is of some importance. To use an inventory item you have to click on your backpack every time to access the items and to use the items you have to drag them to the area. When you come across an area that you are acquiring inventory items, you have to re-click on that area after every item collected because each time you click ok, it zaps you out of that area even if more items need to be collected! I really didn't come across any Hidden Object Scenes, the closest thing to a HOP, was clicking on several items to move them in order to find 10 torn map pieces. There were several simplistic Mini Games or puzzles such as repairing a torn map, or swapping sides of black and white checkers. I will give credit to one game, using a slider bar to tilt a maze as you guide a ball through the maze that only partially showed the maze, as the ball progressed downward, more of the maze would be revealed. This game is getting mixed reviews so take my advice and play the demo before buying this game OR using a credit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I'm Stranded in an Awful Game - HELP! Need Rescuing! Wow! I was so surprised at just how awful this game was with all the amazing games that have recently come out. I cannot even begin to describe the storyline because there really wasn't one that I could put my finger on. Disappointing. The graphics were good but, in the options I muted the music but not any other sounds. So, while I can't comment on the music I CAN say that there we NO voice overs, no sound effects. NOTHING! A LOT of reading but that's all. It was incredibly strange. There was NO tutorial so going into the game I had no clue what I was doing! There was a house, a van, a backpack. Ok. Now what????? Just incredible. I finally figured out that it was just point and click ..... everywhere. It appeared that there was possibly a lost civilization .... possibly aliens and possibly a budding love match??? Confusing. I didn't get the story (what little to none that there was not of), what I was supposed to do and what anything had to do with .... anything else. And, what did all of this ..... whatever ..... have to do with the games title? For all of the above reasons, this is not a purchase for me nor will I recommend it to anyone. It's definitely not cohesive .... nor does it flow anywhere. Very confusing and disappointing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from WAY Too Short I enjoyed the retro style and a break from the ghostly lover/lost children HOGs. However, I finished the entire game within my hour demo - 54 minutes to be exact. Buyer beware. It was a mildly fun (and at times frustrating) 54 minutes, though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stuck I played for only a short time as I got to a place where the only thing to do was open a box in the storage room and I had no idea of how to do it. Also even for someone like me who doesn't mind doing a bit of reading. There is a lot of conversation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This is a good game for children I think this game is for children what with the cartoony graphics and corny dialogue. I would let a 10 year old play it, but it might be too easy for them. It is a lot of reading for an adult, never mind a child. The story is ok if you don't mind sitting there reading a mini novel in the conversations between the main characters and sometimes one can be unsure of what to do next. Definitely a game for kids or newbie beginners.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What Year Was This Made Because It's Not 2015! I played half the demo and just didn't want to play (read) any more. There are no choices for level of play; sound and music is either on or off; no voice overs. Lots of dialogue to read. The hint button works outside the HOS. There is a skip button and I used it. Too much dialogue to read. Unclear of task -- had to use the hint button. I didn't like the way the HOS wasn't one at all but a list, kept in the journal, of items to find in different rooms of the house. I just got tired of using the hint button for directions of what to do and of the endless dialogue. Please play the demo before purchasing this. As George Washington would say, I cannot tell a lie -- this is a stinker!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The time is going to remain stranded This is what I would class as a ‘b’ game in that whilst it is a solid game of its type there are too many ‘little niggles’ to warrant the game to be in the same league as the ‘big hitters’ of Big Fish. The main problems were that because it was that there was a lot of reading to do and there was a lot of dialogue to read which sometimes felt unnecessary. Also because I have a feeling it was translated from another language (and not very well) some words that were there meant the opposite to what they actually wanted to say (because of a missing suffix), this meant that it was even more confusing with regards to trying to follow the story. Even with the dialogue problems the overall gameplay was not brilliant, there wasn’t really any clear direction as what to do and when. The story whilst long and rambling didn’t really move the game on as such so in my opinion there was no real cohesion between the dialogue and the actual gameplay, had this been a TM game it wouldn’t really have made that much difference, but because this was in the Adventure genre then there should have been a lot more cohesion. In the 20 minutes I played (that is all I could cope with), there was one mini-game, which was slow and not very imaginative. The rest of the time was just spent wandering aimlessly between room to room trying to figure out what to do. The controls whilst not poor didn’t really do anything to enhance the overall gameplay. I can’t recommend the game, even though I downloaded the trail when it was the ‘deal of the day’, because of the cheap price (because it was the ‘deal of the day’), I would have given the game a lot of slack as it were and accepted one or two ‘errors’, but because of the fundamentals of the dialogue being very poor along with the inadequacies in the gameplay, this is one game that I am not going to solve. I can’t recommend this game at all.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What was that? Okay...I've played a lot of these and this one was just weird. Poor inventory management, childish graphics, really really reallly short demo, poor storyline....challenges were not challenging. A pass for adults.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This game STINKS!!! I have never played (or bought) such a totally junky game!!! Graphics where sub par, sound track was hinky and over all fun value is "NOT FUN"!!! It was a very short game as well (Finished it in 1.5 hrs). There was so much more that could have been done with this game to make it more fun. What about the Caveman and the octopus?? The crocked shop owner, the sheriff and the guy at the pub?? Could have had more involvement with them. I could go on and on but I am getting angry at myself for buying this junky game. I won't even let my nephew play this!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gave it an honest try... At first I thought it looked like it may be an interesting game, really good graphics and for once a theme that doesn't involve witches, werewolves, vampires etc. which I am so tired of. But right from the start the dialogue was way too much, I found it hard to navigate, got stuck in a few places which I did eventually figure out on my own because the help button was really not a lot of help. Sorry guys, not for me

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the time or money This was probably one of the worst games I have ever purchased from Big Fish - pathetic story line, clumsy navigation. The only plus is it was over very quickly.
