Dangerous Games: Illusionist is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This game is in my top 10 of all time favorites. I'd rate it higher than 5* if possible. BASED ON COMPLETED GAME & BONUS PLAY This is a 2015 game and it was in my top 2 favorite games for that year. The SE portion of this game took me 4 hours The bonus play to the CE took me 1 hr. 45 min Total play for me was 5 hours 45 min. This is one of those games that just gets better after the demo which is a rare thing. The graphics are clear and colorful. The cut-scenes are amazing. It's funny because in Chapter 1 (pg 6 of wtg) there is a poster on the wall of a woman in the hotel. She looks exactly like Gene (Eliza)Tierney. Even though she is decades before my time, I've always been a fan of her on the silver screen. There are several great HOS here & a storybook type with pop up paper type characters the illusionist does tricks in. The game feels as if love, time and money went into every detail is thought out. It is a long game compared to those coming out in later years. You collect morphing trick cards. I absolutely adored this game from beginning to end and would rate it higher if I could. I will definitely play this game again as the replay value is super high. Thank you to BFG and Blam for this beautiful game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alakazam One, Two, Three And.... Poof! Tonight is the grand re-opening of the Taylor Hotel. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself as it hosts the Second Illusionist Championship. You remember that fateful night very well, because you are the journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for the coverage of the First Illusionist Championship. Unfortunately, things don't go well this time either, because that wouldn't be very "dangerous" so now you must play a wicked game with an Illusionist who has some pretty deadly tricks up his sleeve. Can you survive this terrifying ordeal and separate what is real from illusion? I loved the fact that every puzzle and hidden object scene kept true to the genre with magic tricks and illusions. You will find a pair of Truth Goggles that will reveal hidden doors, passageways and hidden props, before using them you will have to recreate images shown by combining several shapes. The Hidden Object Scenes range from interactive list finds, finding multiples of a single item, to progressive silhouetted shape finds. Each HOP has codes to decipher and small puzzles within to add more interactive features. The mini games were all based upon illusionist tricks and very creative. One such game required you to synchronize two clocks to show the life cycle of a bird. The left clock shows changing images of a birds life, and you drag tiles to the clock on the right to create a matching life cycle. The Collectors Edition has 20 Morphing Trick Cards, Wallpapers, Concept Art, Music, Videos, replayable Mini Games, Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Will Draw You In The story line is very easy to follow and makes sense. Too often games are over complicated in that they are all over the place rather than consistent in storyline and flow. One step at a time. As well, the mini-games in this one are entertaining and have some variation. The levels are easy enough for the less experienced while challenging enough for the more experienced. Well balanced. It is very easy to get drawn into this one to see the outcome in the end. Well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Graphics! I played the Beta version when it came out. I was anxious to see when the full version would be coming out. The demo is only 30 min so basing my view on beta and demo. The graphics are beautiful. So far the story line is easy to follow. There is a interactive map that lets you jump and shows where you have something to do. The HOS are varied in types. Some straight hidden objects and some you have to find one thing to apply to another and some are shapes. Great variety. You can also customize your playing level. I knew when I played the beta that I would be buying when the game came out and glad it is on sale this weekend! I don't think you will be disappointed if you buy this one!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was ok. I completed the game. The game was middle of the road. The HOs were good but most of the puzzles not so much. The game lagged some and having to change scenes so often was a pain. The story was good at times but didn't stay consistently good. Most games I either love or hate but this 1 does fall right in the middle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Um, is that it? It starts off so promisingly, but then just turns into a mess - it's as thought someone had lots of ideas but not enough to make each into a full game so they've just thrown them all together here. And I am SO SICK of SE games being only half a game - it stops so suddenly you just know it is because the next scene is the CE extra bit - there is so much left unexplained, although the explanation is clearly important to the game. It's not fair - if you don't want to make a full SE game, don't bother - I feel ripped off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Delightful! The artistry of the middle east! Enjoyed each step in this game, the graphical representation of the east is something I don't want to see end with this delightful game. Thank you.
