A cloaked figure drags road spikes across a dark highway, causing a mother to crash. When she regains consciousness, her young daughter is gone from the seat beside her. As the mother searches the adjoining woods, she comes to an abandoned house containing evidence of a mysterious tragedy that struck the family that lived there, and details about a strange fog that crept out of a nearby military base.

What macabre threads tie these seemingly unrelated events into a single, terrifying story? To find out, play The Fog, a captivating hidden object game with more than a few surprises lurking along its misty paths. As you search the corridors of an empty hospital and the decayed remnants of a demolished military base, you'll search for useful items, solve cleverly designed puzzles, and play mini-games unlike any you have encountered. When fear threatens to overcome you, and you want to turn back, remember: the answer to the mystery lies within the haze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Game The Fog is one of the very best games that I have ever played. I am on the level of intermediate and I found it to be challenging throughout the game in a GOOD way. The graphics are some of the very best that I have ever seen. The music is perfect for the story line which is excellent. Even though it isn't a collector's game, it is long enough. Beware, there isn't a jump map. The going to and fro is needed for the game; however, the distances are not that long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very eerie and creepy SE But so marvellous! It isa straight forward HOG with interactive HOS and not too many of them. The HOS have more items to pick up than most HOGs though (15 different items and usually 3 of at least one item) and can be quite challenging. The graphic is superb and really adds to the atmosphere. I am a little bit fed up with collectibles and morphing objects and this was a nice pause from that. I bought it on a weekly sale and I must say that was a real bargain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Creepy and very long... Low tech for sure, no transport from place to place, but very creepy and weird....Lots of stuff to do, excellent music....reminds me of insane asylum and such, creepy and slow...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, underrated game I am finally getting around to posting reviews, primarily focusing on writing reviews for games that I feel are either over or underrated based on my personal experience. This one looked hokey, and I only got it because it was on sale. I really enjoyed it, though! I don't feel that it was overly gorey or anything, either. I mean, don't let your kids play it, but it doesn't have what you would consider "adult" themes by any means. Sadly, the ending is much too abrupt, given how well written the storyline is #even if it's not the most creative storyline, I felt that it was still better than most - and most importantly, well-executed!# I normally tire of too many HOS #prefer the adventure portion & a good story, followed by mini-games/puzzles, and just a smattering of HOS; personal preference, of course.# I didn't think this one had too many HOS, and what it had was interesting enough to keep me engaged. I liked the little toy box that you add to throughout the game. It also had a bit more challenge than some, in a good way. Try out the demo - I think you'll like it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A unique game This by far the best game I have played for a long time. It was interesting and varied. There were standard type scenes but always a slightly different twist. I found it easy to play but also reasonably challenging as well. I sometimes continued puzzles even though skip was available. There were some pretty gruesome scenes so be prepared. I tend not to use sound so can't comment on that. Visuals perhaps a tad old fashioned but ultimately the story got you hooked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from REALLY DECENT GAME AND WORTH PLAYING REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME I enjoyed this because it had everything that I liked in a game. There is: * Novice and Export modes of play; * Journal; * Map (not interactive); * A special box to get certain items from. The graphics are okay - not crystal clear or bright like you see in other games, but you do get used to them pretty quickly. I didn't realise the game was so long and you will be going to a lot of locations. However, you do everything before you move on, so there is no long traipse backwards and forwards to locate items you need. I don't remember there being any voiceovers. You will be reading the journal a lot, especially when you come across pieces of paper that get put in the journal. This will come in handy in complete some of the mini-games. This doesn't take long - you can just quickly read it and move on. There is a colourful box that you will find items for. When you have found a item, then the box glows and you will then know to use it. When you put that item in, then it will give you another item or gadget to use to carry on. I really liked the straightforward slightly interactive hidden object games. These were not too hard and I found most items relatively easy to spot. There was also a spot the difference HOS as well. There were a good variety of mini-games to play. A couple of them were quite hard and took me a while, however most of them were the standard HOS we all see and didn't take long to do. I enjoyed them all and got stuck into them. All up the game took me about 7 hours to complete, which is quite long. I tried the Hint at the end of the game and it took about 30 seconds or so to refill. Overall, a really good game and definitely worth playing. I personally love these sorts of games which are just a bit out of the norm and quirky. Go and have a looksie and give it a try - I'm glad I did. Happy playing fishies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't normally do reviews...but OK,here goes,I have never done a review before, but I do read TONS & TONS of them when I get ready to purchase a game(I buy a lot of games-I read a lot of reviews) and honestly the reviews are what tipped me over the edge for this stand alone SE...I love CEs and this one dont have a CE,so I thought, hmmmm, lets read about it before I do the trial...I did my studying, then my trial and just as others have said, just a short time into the trial and I stopped and went ahead and bought it !!! I love the story line, the graphics are really well done and the atmosphere is really freaky/spine tingly and the game keeps you moving on at a good, steady pace so you can solve the mystery !! There is a map,but it's not one that "jumps" you around and there is a hint system, but I never use hints,so I can't tell you about it...You have a journal,it helps you follow the story and you find a box that you have to collect items for and it seems to give you things you need in return...I really like this game and totally think everyone should give it a whirl !!! Happy Gaming Everyone !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for the Faint Hearted This is an excellent dark, eerie, and creepy hidden object adventure. Warning: It is not for the faint hearted. In the 1st 2 scenes what appear to be a mother and child traveling in a beat up sedan, stop for lunch, get back on the road, and then have a wreck when a shadowy figure lays down a spike strip and causes their car to crash. When Mom comes to, the child is gone. Very creepily and expertly done. The visuals are very realistic down to the last details. The soundtrack is ominous and lends more of a "creep" factor to the game. Hidden object scenes were great. Some objects interactive, some used in the storyline, which is excellent. Mini games were okay, kept me busy. This is a game of secret rooms, trap doors, safes, chests. I came upon tortured dolls and toys, creepy drawings, and letters describing a demon child. The creep factor was in this one: dark, eerie, and creepy, just the way I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where Is The Fog? I didn't see much fog in this game, but it is by far one of the best no frills hidden object games I have played in a long time. Seriously, this is my kind of game! The introduction trailer alone was fantastic, creepy and eerie, no words of explanation needed, it made me sense the fear in the atmosphere as I watched a mysterious man drag a tire spike to the middle of the road just before a mother and her young child are about to arrive at that very area! The road is in the middle of nowhere, not a car or person in sight, and then the unthinkable....the car spirals out of control and crashes. The driver wakes up, injured and foggy, what happened? The panic sets in when she realizes her daughter is gone! The story alone was enough to convince me to buy this one and I actually like the no frills approach, no collections, no morphing, no transport map, that's right, you'll have to go old school and travel back and forth from room to room, front yard to back but it somehow just makes it creepier. The hidden object scenes are interactive and very well done, some items are extremely well hidden and the interactive areas require a little thought as to what and where they are used. The mini games are fairly easy, most are codes that are used after you discover them throughout the game others are flipping tiles to change all to a certain color but each tile may turn several other tiles. You will discover an interactive box that has several compartments and as you find the parts throughout the adventure you can open up these compartments one by one. I know this is a stand alone standard edition but it's well produced without glitches and well worth the buy, enjoy!
