Amaranthine Voyage: The Living Mountain Collector's Edition is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 61.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful graphics, a long satisfying game This game, with many scenes and incredible graphics, is challenging but not impossible. On easy play the hints recharge quickly, and you have the option of doing a bubble shoot if you want to skip any of the puzzles. It also has a map feature which is very helpful. You do need to follow the Guide pretty closely. After completing it, be sure to play the bonus game, and throughout playing, collect the dog biscuits!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great game...fun extras! I had somehow missed this installment of Amaranthine Voyage, so decided to catch up! This is an all around great game, with inventive puzzles and graphics. I particularly liked the extras in this one, particularly going back to each scene to find "souvenirs" and being able to collect items missed in the regular and bonus play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORLD CLASS GAMEPLAY SUMMARY: Flawless gameplay; outstanding graphics and color palettes. Well thought-out story development and exceptional production values. Lengthy game with plenty to do and see. A nice day of exciting gameplay. GAMEPLAY: Immediately grabs and holds your attention. Superb artistry - full of color. Special effects are outstanding. Voice overs are terrific; music is compelling; lots of HOS (list and silhouette; very detailed and not too crowded, with nice color palettes); fun and interesting puzzles (wide variety of difficulty). Play bubble shoot instead of HOS if you want. BASICS you get: map with objectives and active areas (you can turn off); journal; 3 standard plus one customizable difficulty mode (turn on/off only those aspects you want, including time sets for hint and skip recharges); hint shows snapshot of where you should go; helpful messages. Helper dog (but he won't dig, only fetch). CE includes achievements; collect fairies, souvenirs and dog biscuits; making of; pictures of process of drawing characters, et al.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'll shout it from the mountain top: A Must Buy Game to Add to Your Collection!! This game has got it all, folks. I don't know but I think finally the developers are taking heed to what we like and this is a winner for sure! I just finished the main collector's game and will be playing the bonus game soon. Since I'm called the professor in this highly, creative game, I rate it an A+ in every category. Delightful, engrossing, fun-filled, visually beautiful, sound effects awesome and realistic, a full variety of HOS with silhouettes, regular/interactive HOS, HOS with poetic riddles; and you have the option of switching to a bubble shoot in place of the HOS if you want. I preferred this game's HOS, very unique indeed! Eventually, you'll have a companion--a cute dog named Bonnie to help retrieve items that you can't reach--she'll bark if you ever need her assistance; there's a great hint button; same for the guide; great storyline; wonderful VOS with text as well. Great game-flow! Read the journal; read anything in sight. It's good for ya' and helpful, too! Find 20 tinker bell fairies; and don't forget the doggie bones too. And this game is not impishly silly either. Very intelligent script, I must add. I played this in expert mode but play it anyway you wish. Loved this game. Now let me get back to the bonus game--Jonathan and I have to find the Sun Diamond. I highly recommend this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Gotta Get This One! Wow, am I having fun! I'm only half-way through this CE but I had to stop to type a review. First off, I have never turned the music UP during a game. I am during this one. My hat is off to the developers on this! In fact, the music is so good it will make me want to play the game again. It's kind of a new age tribal sound on certain scenes. But it changes often as you go from scene to scene. I want to know who did the music, for sure, so I'll be checking the credits. I would absolutely buy this soundtrack on CD. I suggested a few months ago that developers should give new composers a chance to showcase their music via online games. Whether they listened to me or not, I'm experiencing much better music, and I haven't even used headphones yet. I plan on doing that soon. Besides the great music, this game is so much fun! Puzzles go from easy to quite difficult and there are some new ones. It's not loaded with HOS, which is great for me. I'm a puzzle person. I'm really loving this developer. I don't normally buy CE's, but I will from this company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HAD ME HOOKED FROM THE BEGINNING!!! This one has excellent graphics, very clear and bright colors. Only a few dark places, but not too dark to see. Game play was excellent as well, no problems at all. I usually turn music down, but I liked this one. Glad I left it on. Music changed with each scene and mood, so was not boring at all. Voice overs were very well done, with emotion to match facial expressions and what was happening at the time. I liked that you could "click" through the dialogue, for those of us who read faster than they talk. There is a locking inventory bar, and a very nice jump map. Hint system is very helpful and filled quickly. HOGs were very well done. They switch between silhouette and standard. You can also change to a bubble shooting game! Each HOG has a riddle to solve at the end, which gives you an item that you will use within the game. The attention to detail was amazing, e.g. using a spoon to crack an egg. I liked the way an item is automatically removed when you "put the pieces together," rather than having to click on it again to remove it from the list. You also have a little dog, Bonnie, who is quite helpful in obtaining hard to reach items within a scene. She actually barks when you can use her. You also have a bow and arrow that is quite helpful, but it doesn't bark lol. There are the usual achievements, along with collecting 48 dog biscuits, which are easy to find, and 20 fairies, which are not as easy to find as you may think. Hope you enjoy the game as much as I did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Living Mountain? The Living End! I have played a lot of HO games. Most are good, some are great. This one has the best of all of them. Good story, bit of mystery to it. It does not have all those the frequent "better hurry" warnings (ugh). There is a lot of variety. The HO scenes have some easy-to-find items, some that are hard to find. Some puzzles are simple (tho not too easy), and some puzzles are tough! The bonus game flows nicely with the main game - it doesn't feel contrived, like it was a failed SE tacked onto the end. But there are even more bonuses. You can go back to find all the dog treats you missed the first time around. And there is a separate souvenir search that takes you back through every scene. So cool!!! I cannot recommend this game strongly enough. There is something for beginners and veterans to enjoy!!
