Forgotten Kingdoms: Dream of Ruin is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Puzzles Ever If you like puzzles that make you think, this game is for you. I spent two hours on one puzzle and at least an hour on another couple. I very rarely skip puzzles, as they're my favorite part of the game. I believe I did skip one in this game, however, because I knew I wasn't going to solve it and I had already spent considerable time on it. The rest of the game is fun too, and it's a long one, but not because I spent so much time on the puzzles. There is lots of play time (and HOP's) in this game. Just a really fun game for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hidden gem HO game Excellent game. Starting off with the bond being created between your character (the ambassador) and the princess with the importance of your mission helps influence you to work through the game as fast as possible to ensure you both survive. Really enjoyed the HO scenes where you had to put items back in their place, made you keep your eyes on little details through the worlds that would help you with those scenes. Mini games were sometimes easy, sometimes difficult, had to use the skip button more than what i would like to have. Overall a really good game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Favorite This is my new favorite game to date! If you played a lot of hidden object games, you will love this. They don't make it too easy, this game will take time to complete. They keep you busy with different objectives and keeps you interested in the game. If you get stuck, just look in the guide and you will move on. Being so disappointed in how non challenging some games have been lately, this is a nice surprise. Can not understand the negative reviews for this game, except if you don't purchase the collector's edition, you don't have the guide to look at right away if you get stuck and that could get frustrating, but that is our choice as players and has nothing to do with the game. The game is just amazing!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When Dreams Become Reality King Rigel of Aeria has sent the Ambassador to deliver a marriage proposal from Prince Armus to the beautiful Princess Selena of Tida. Unfortunately the Princess declines because of recurring nightmares of this very day. In her dreams she vividly sees her kingdom in ruins and her mother Queen Beatrix murdered at the throne! The very moment the Princess declines, magical chains bind her and she falls into a coma that not even Maera the Healer can cure. In a fit of rage the Queen casts a binding spell upon the Ambassador as well, if she dies, so shall you! You must now travel the globe in search of the cure that binds the two of you both physically and mentally, you only have two dawns before the life elements are drained from the sleeping Princess! (try kissing her it's worked before!) What's not to love about a game filled with Kings and Queens, Prince's and Princesses, magic, deceit and flying tigers? You can use your wicked fast winged beast to transport you instantaneously to other Kingdoms any time you want by simply clicking on the tiger and then choosing the desired location. As soon as you arrive at Vivid Basin the home to temperamental but wise dragons, you will find a very useful tool, the Legendary Gauntlet of Elements capable of using elements such as fire, water and wind. Simply choose the appropriate icon located on the bottom right of the screen and blast away! The Hidden Object Scenes consist of slightly interactive list finds such as clicking on a box to reveal the contents inside or picking up several miniature planets and placing them onto an astrological chest. I will admit that some of the objects were so well blended that I had to use the hint button (did anyone else find the letter T on their own?) The mini games are clever and entertaining, some simple puzzles such as swapping identical sized tiles to complete a picture, some more complex and frustrating such as guiding three different dragon figurines along sections of a path that are turned individually, but it is sometimes necessary to backtrack in order to get to the correct pattern. The Collectors Edition was more entertaining in my opinion with Collectible Nobel Kingdom Cards, Achievements, Unlockable Bonus Trivia, Wallpaper, Concept Art, Music, Art Gallery, Extra Hidden Object Scenes and Puzzles, a built in Strategy Guide and of course a Bonus Adventure Chapter, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE FLYING TIGERS What's wrong with you people? These flying tigers are awesome and magic mirrors are just a staple of this fantasy type world. I love the story line. I like all the water pouring down these devs have created a new world for us to enjoy.I didn't get as far as the magic mirrors before I bought it. It's beautiful and fun to play as well as having an intriguing story line. I say go with the flow, buy it you'll love it,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lacks the polish of the sequel. Based on the completed game: My actual rating is about 3.5 stars, give or take. While I enjoyed most aspects of this game, there were some I found distinctly irritating, & by the time I finished (played it all in one go), I was somewhat relieved to be done. One of my pet peeves when playing HOPA games is HO scenes where some of the objects are ridiculously out of scale, & this game has instances of that, such as an easel the size of two toothpicks; there is also one scene where some of the items you're looking for are so faintly etched, they're very difficult to see (since all HO scenes in this game are visited twice, I found this doubly irritating). ;) Mini-games cover a range of both type & degree of difficulty, but lean more heavily toward the difficult end of the spectrum, & there's one point where you get hit w/ two fairly intense mini-games, one hard on the heels of the other. While I enjoy challenging mini-games, I don't like playing them back to back like that; I like a bit of a breather in between. ;) There are also some activities thrown in which really only serve to add padding. The storyline wasn't entirely predictable, but some of the characters used to flesh it out weren't as interesting or involved as I'd hoped they'd be; one of the characters shown in the trailer at the end of the CE demo just gives you a few words of advice, then disappears altogether. The graphics are mostly quite good, w/ the noted exceptions in the HO scenes. All in all, you can see a lot of effort went into making this game, but a bit more could have made it more enjoyable to play. I'm still glad I got it, but if choosing between the two, I'd probably recommend the sequel over this one...or better still, get both on a BOGO sale. ;) Happy gaming, all. :)
