All things considered, worth the CE
**I will not share much more in the way of "spoilers" than what you can see in the demo for yourself. I did read some of the 1-2 star reviews and am giving you my take on their complaints as well.**
You are a young dark skinned Louisiana maiden (which in and of itself is refreshing), you've been proposed to in a weird and awkward manner but now you're planning a wedding. Some drunk looking fellow throws himself on your tent and instead of checking on him, you finish what you're doing. This mysterious guy attacks your hubby to be, he says you'll talk about it later and leaves. Obviously in the real world you'd be more concerned and expect some answers but instead you're cool with it and after some more drama you go to the club. Skip to the club, only maybe 20 minutes has passed and this huge gig your fiance has done as a favor is already over and he's gone somewhere. Anyone with a musician hubby knows they get there hours early, sets last a couple of hours and they're are always easy ways to find them. Again, this is a fantasy story so they had to make it fit the game. It still keeps you engaged with puzzles and has you on the end of your seat a bit wanting to protect/find your fiance.
That's about all the major stuff I'll give up but will go on to tell you that the puzzles do get better as the story goes on. I was a bit peeved at the rear of the van door and finding a box at the front of a fan boat later in the game so I had to look those up. Once you're in the van, however, it's a showcase of why MadHeadGames RULES the HOG genre. It's not your standard point and click, as you have 3 items to find and each gives you a part to something else. Once you gather three more things you're given a map of stars on the drum (which if you just look at it you will see that in the exact places on the drum, in the exact shape, are the stars you click). You move on to another 3 items, click all 3 on the finished ring and you get the handle to get into the front of the van. In ordinary HOG you may still have to put two things together or move an area around to find items. Several times you will point and click to match two items or find 3 of the same mushroom before continuing.
If you are a completionist, like myself, you'll spend the whole day playing this. Finding every ticket (and some are in the second side to the same area) to open the bonus level, finding every morph in the HOG scenes, trying to figure out the mystery, etc. The bonus game was..meh. Again, completionist wanted me to finish up and get the remaining badges. The best part in the Extras was getting it all done and going into a match 3 game or going into an area where you could replay the HOGs to get 100% or 3 stars.
Sure, there are parts of the game that's completely unbelievable. At one point a doctor has you not only help with a body to discover a kiss mark but also lets you use her equipment to match the two samples chemically. Because THAT happens in reality. Also someone mentioned the punching scene. 1)Only one time in the beginning do you have to slap/punch someone and he's an attacker who clearly states he's going to kill you. Yes, you'd slap and punch that person. Sorry if that's a little real and not to your liking. 2)If you've played other HOGs you know that they always have some hokey shoot at someone, cause rocks to fall onto them, have whatever mystical pet following you attack/distract the bad guy...this is really no different but is more realistic.
I, personally, found this to be one of their better CEs. I played Beyond:Light Advent as a tester and immediately bought the CE the day it came out. No regrets. The second in the series I thought the CE was a colossal waste of time but may go back and revisit it. I did not play the first one of this series but may go get that today. Yes there are quite a few cut scenes but not so many I banged my head on the desk. Some of the puzzles are terribly easy, especially in the beginning, but are well worth sticking with to the end. It had its moments where I rolled my eyes but good graphics, interesting and hardly used storyline (not ooo I'm chasing ghosts...again) and while I usually can't stomach most jazz, even that was good. I didn't keep going because the puzzles where compelling but to find out where the story went. I LOVE a good murder mystery and that was a GOOOOOD murder mystery.

I have been playing games here since 2011. I hardly ever submit a review, but I do read all the reviews. This has got to be the BEST game I have played since 2011! I just bought it 2 days ago and finished just now. WOW WOW WOW! A Big Thank you to Mad Head Games and all who worked on this. Ya'll ( yea I'm an Okie girl) really outdid yourselves. I plan on purchasing all of the Cadenza games. Thanks again! Fantastico!!!!!

Cadenza: The Kiss of Death CE
"Great and Fun series of games." First I love the music in the Cadenza series of games it is never boring and goes well with the story lines. The story lines are always believable and move along quickly. The real advantage to this series is not requiring a jump map because of redundancy, and the inventory bar is never over filled because of all the unfinished business in a scene.
The Hops are really different and GREAT fun because they are interactive, with Morphs to find in every scene and because you get collection under the items to find to build on something that requires to open in order to collect the last items. There is great variety in the games to solve and HOPs to find. I love the characters the developer creates allowing you to experience the anguish some characters are going through. The graphics are always crisp and clear so there is no eye strain.
I have been a game club member for over a decade, own lots of games and this particular series to me is an instant buy without even needing a trial first. There are never any performance glitches with this series or error messages along the way. The scenes flow without loading delays, and the ambiance is always appropriate for each scene. In most games I turn the music and sound off because they are annoying but this series I never get enough of because of the audio and music are great!
Keep up the fantastic work Big Fish because you always have something for everyone. Thank you.
This all being said I hope you all try this series of game because it is a lot of fun and I hope to see more of this type of game!

Love this series!
Great game, it does not disappoint. I will say it was a short game. It plays quickly and there are extra hidden tickets and morphing objects to find. The music is good and the story line interesting.

Totally immersed in the music and action
This series of games is one of my favorites. I want a bit of a challenge, but I'm more in it for enjoyment, distraction and entertainment when I come home from work and need a few moments just for me. This game fills the bill. The music alone is worth it, filling almost the entire game with a musical score ranging from southern romance to sultry jazz to suspenseful and evocative of imminent danger, and giving the player the feeling that they are involved in a movie-like experience. I was reminded of old movies, maybe from the 40s or 50s with Bogart and Bacall. And I will say again, I loved the music! It underscores everything going on and puts you in the mood for the storyline. New Orleans, jazz, murder, redemption. It's compelling and visually interesting and I sat down and ended up playing from beginning to end in several hours at one sitting because it was so interesting and fun, and I was enjoying myself so much. I had only intended to play for a short while and then get on with other tasks. But I gladly yielded to the game and was happy I did so! Thanks to the Big Fish team who created the Cadenza series. I look forward to many more of these (hopefully) soon!

THESE DEVELOPERS ARE TAKING THE LEAD!!
Keeping this short and sweet, I am in agreement with Ziggy_Zigster .... if you loved the first Cadenza game, you will be in "HOG" heaven with this game. The graphics are AMAZING. For a Collectors Edition, it has all the bells and whistles, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Most of all, the story was logical and complete. Thank you Big Fish!

It's "The Bomb"
AWESOME, AWESOME game. I loved it! I was hooked the moment I watched the little video. The Cadenza series ROCKS!! It was a little short and the bonus didn't really fit the main game ; however, I immensely enjoyed it.The graphics blew me away and the music is wonderful. Bring on more Cadenza!

Fun...Sealed with a Kiss
Cadenza returns with another story of love, music, betrayal, crime and death set in New Orleans. You, the player, play the bride to be (and heroine) preparing for the wedding when your beloved fiance Anthony appeared to be caught in a shady business along with some friends. Eventually, Anthony ends up as a victim and it's up to you to race against time to save his life. Main thing that I loved about this game is that the storyline is more improved and more well thought of compared to its predecessor. The graphics appear to be more polished. Not that the first Cadenza is shoddy but this one seemed to have stepped up in the game.
Few FROGs here but rather unique in its approach.
The voiceovers are not wooden (I felt like I'm in a mini movie!) and you get to involve in deciding on what actions to take which gives the game a more realistic and more proactive approach. The music: I think it's one of the pillars of this game's popularity. A little less pronounced compared to the first Cadenza game (where it's more prominently featured) but the seductive and soothing vibe is still there. What can I say? Encore!!
