Witches' Legacy: The Dark Throne Collector's Edition is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional graphics and excellent, entertaining storyline. Overall: At the start a book explains the previous storyline so you understand the backstory. Looked forward to where the tasks took me and how the storyline moved forward smoothly. Well- developed graphics with a variety of interesting scenes. One of the most enjoyable games played in a while with a mix of anticipation and curiosity where the journey would take me. Graphics: Excellent, great color. Very well developed game. Sound Music: Appropriate for task and scene and often pleasant. Hint: Excellent took you where you needed to go. Sometime a real challenge guessing the why of some inventory items collected, but the hint took care of any confusion. Hidden Object Games: Good variety, quick hint return, beautifully crafted scenes and objects Objects easy to see and some force you think how to complete them. Mini Games: Nicely done. Most are logical and fun. A few more difficult and will be enjoyed by mini game fans. Morph and puzzle pieces: Collect for achievements. Map: Map was excellent and a good resource. Strategy Book: Was there if you needed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Witch Hunter saves Witch, Thwarts Otherworld Takeover - News at Eleven Several months have passed since Lynn destroyed Morgana [is she really gone this time?] in Slumbering Darkness and she is trying to settle down to a normal life with her husband, Edward, Witch Hunter, but no such luck. Lynn and Edward have established the Tom Charles Museum of Magic to honor her brother. At the opening, Lynn notices a stained glass window that has an affect on her and she is drawn into it. Carrie, her adopted mother, is thrown into a locked room and a skeletal creature emerges and captures the Imp. As Edward, you have to free the Imp and Carrie and find out what happened to Lynn. Carrie has been incapacitated by a sleep spell so is of no help but you find a tool called the Glass of Truth that will show the true nature of what is displayed in it. Discovering that the stained glass window is actually a portal to the Otherworld, you and the Imp must enter the portal and find Lynn. As you explore the Otherworld, you soon discover that when Lynn destroyed Morgana, Ruler of the Otherworld, it left the Otherworld in chaos and seeking a new ruler. You also discover that the sorcerer, Mathais, has resurfaced and is helping Lynn, who is under a spell, to become the new Dark Queen and ruler of the Otherworld and does not want to be rescued. Mathais, of course, has a hidden agenda of his own where he plans to kill Lynn at the moment she is crowned and absorb all of her magic into himself making him extremely powerful. You have your work cut out for you. Being the sixth in the series, don't expect much change from previous episodes except a new story and more troubles for Edward and Lynn. You are provided with the background story in a book "Witches Legacy Book" located at the beginning where the "Play" button is located so even if you have not played any of the previous episodes, you will have a basic understanding of what went before now. The expected excellent graphics, animations, music and voice overs are there as well as the hidden object scenes and puzzles. The Imp helper is there with his usual need of help from some device to accomplish his tasks. He has to be getting old to require so much help. There are a lot of objects in the game that you can interact with that have nothing to do with accomplishing your goal and apparently are there as 'bling.' It does give you something else to do in the game if you like that sort of thing. There are 35 morphing objects, 36 puzzle pieces and 14 Imp helping items that can be found. I must admit that they have made the morphing objects a little easier to find without having to sit and wait for it to morph as in other games. The puzzle pieces are used to construct 4 puzzles at the end of the game in "Extras" that, when completed, give some background about the subject in the puzzle. There is an excellent jump map provided also. Hidden object scenes are some of the most interactive I have played in a while and provides some nice variations that make doing them more fun and interesting. I especially liked the where everything is up-side down on what appears to be an island. It added that additional challenge that made it more fun. There is the choice to play a match game instead. BONUS CHAPTER: In saving Lynn, you were required to cleanse the crown of the Dark Queen in the water of the Well of Truth but, by doing so, you unknowingly tainted the water with that evil and now it is causing the creatures in the Otherworld to turn evil and now they are trying to break into our world. Now you have to go back to the Otherworld and cleanse the well with waters from the other three magic wells. A nicely done extra for the Collector's Edition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific game! The lil' imp is too cute for words, too! While the thoughts are still fresh in my mind, I have to tell you that this game rocks! At least it did for me! I'm almost at the end of the Bonus Game. You get a lot of bang for the buck in this game. There's a wide variety of tasks to complete and it's so much fun. The HOPS are varied and unusual. You'll learn about the characters as you piece the puzzles back in place; morphing objects to locate and when you have a game such as this one that is intriguing, one can get engrossed on the tasks and forget about the morphing objects, so I'm getting better at that. Your well's been sealed with dark magic and you've got to remove it by finding the healing mushrooms to dispel it, just one of the fun things to complete. The storyline is great but it's the same genre--witches, ghosts, demons, whatever! One of these days, I'm hoping these developers can create a game about a jewel heist with the most beautiful scenery our eyes ever feasted upon! A change of pace/scenery would be good; nonetheless, this game does have stunning scenes. Your helper, the lil' imp, is so cute and if you click on him, he'll perform different functions--for instance, he'll get out his guitar and play a real quick tune; spin the top; at one point he took out a pendant on a chain and almost hypnotized himself; and other cute and fun things that I got a big charge out of! The only thing I would change on the imp's appearance is I'd get rid of the horns and give him brown or blue eyes! Still, he's too cute for words, and truly a great assistant. The developers really put in a lot of thought and work into this game. Bravo to all! The artwork is stunning; the music/special effects are terrific; the text didn't always jive with the voiceovers, but that's a minor thing. The actors were very good, too. Oh, you also had the option of playing the matching game instead of the HOPS, and just for the fun of it, I would from time to time. Everything flows so well in this game. I'm giving it a 5-star rating and highly recommend it as it is compelling and fun game to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Give This One A Chance I just about gave up on this one way too soon. It turned out to be a great game, fully worth the effort and the bonuses made it worthy of being a CE. I'd give it four stars but the bonus game kicked it back to five. Pros: Great graphics, lovely colors, and LOTS OF PLAY! The latter is all too rare these days, but it went on and on and got better and better. Plot decent and coherent. Puzzles just about right level of difficulty, HO's of several different styles. Cons: Too many cut scenes, especially in the beginning. Completely took the rhythm of the game off the rails. Assistant is less annoying than most but didn't seem all that necessary. In the first "alternate world" the direction was occasionally not very logical, you often didn't really know what to do next. Overall, though, stick with this one. Full value for length, full value for bonus game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Witches' Legacy Dark Throne left me spellbound, it's Fantastic!!! This is the 6th installment of the Witches' Legacy Franchise. In this edition you play the role of Edward "Lynn's husband". I was thrilled with the reversal since I am male and tire of always being in the feminine character. This time Evil Morgana curses Lynn and her mother Carrie and you have to save Lynn from the other side and cleanse the world of evil. Not an easy task in the least. Appearances made by some of your favorites, both friend and foe include.... *Imp "who helps you 14 times" *Wolfgang *Elizabeth "Wolfgang's sister who was changed to a witch in one of the first installments" *Mathias the Evil Warlock *Thetis Evil Witch *Morgana Queen Witch The gameplay is incredible with awesome graphics, and excellent sound/SFX.The back story of the series is revealed nicely as you go, so even if you haven't played any of the previous games, you don't feel like you're missing anything too important. I have all 6 of these releases, someday I will binge play all of them. This one really exceeded my expectations and the bonus play and CE bling was more than average. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent puzzles and nice flow.... Nothing was annoying about this game, it flowed nicely, I did not get bored because the puzzles and HO were great...Loved the map, the Imp is not a pain, all and all a very pleasant experience, for once I feel I got my money's worth.... The story line is the usual witch business but it is very modern in its ways of dealing with the enchanting world.I liked it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another fun game in the Witches' Legacy series. This review is based on the demo hour and the previous beta survey. I was thrilled to see that all three of the main concerns I listed were addressed. Nice. Anyway, I have this whole series. Yes, Imp is back. I'm open-minded on helpers -- I only care if they helpful or a major distraction. My opinion of Imp is that he's more helpful than distracting. The graphics in the opening scenes are not my favorite, but after going beyond the mirror, new areas open up and that's when it started to get much more interesting! I enjoyed each new area I encountered. There are morphing objects and puzzle pieces to be found. As I explore, I always click on the various plant/animal life and see what they do. I like the little touches that add "life" to the gameplay. There are achievements, some even skill-based! There is a locked section in "Extras" that says Puzzles, so I assume (dangerous I know) that the puzzles may be replayed after the game is completed. I'll be getting the game, probably this weekend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why this game pulled me right in and did not want to let me go. This review is only based on the demo period, I stopped, but I did not want to, even though the story is related to five previous games, some of which I haven't played. The premise is that, talented witch Lynn is snatched away at a museum opening, and her husband Edward is left to rescue her. Other reviewers have described the features of the game better than I can, so I will instead explain why this game sucked me in (and therefore why I’m still awake in the middle of the night). The first, introductory movie is perfect. It just tells you a very little bit about previous stories, and then stops. So many opening movies are too long, IMHO. Then, on the title page, there’s a storybook that tells you more history of the games, given that this is the sixth game of a series. What a great idea! I have not played all of the previous games, but I think that I am sufficiently caught up by the storybook that I will enjoy playing the rest of this one even out of order. After you start the game, there is just a bit more explanation about the opening of a museum. Then, talented witch Lynn is spirited away, and the action starts right in. There are no unrelated tasks to let you learn how the game works--by trying to find a key to get out the door or by making you find your car keys. I didn’t realize how tired I was of those learning scenarios until I played this game. Also, actions are complex enough that they are games, though they may not be hidden object games or mini games officially. For example, in the first room, you move a series of items on a table to sort them. It was fun! The idea of the items ties right in to the game’s theme, too, helping to explain the world you are entering and adding to the experience. From that moment of sorting objects on, I was hooked. Then there are little touches, like the magic flowering bush in the den, that don’t seem to really advance the story but are just charming. And the bonus items look as if they will be excellent, with a bonus chapter and puzzles, as well as the usual art and music. I could not find a single annoyance with the game in the time I played. Game play is seamless and logical, and I was not using the hint constantly. Yay! Clicking works well in places where you should need to click as opposed to some recent games where you had to really be accurate with the mouse. Double yay! The hint function works perfectly. Great game all around. So, dilemma--do I buy it now, or do I wait to see if there's a 2 for 1 sale for the 4th of July weekend? It's so good that I want to buy it right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The New Dark Queen Morgana has finally been defeated, and the dark world of magic must crown a new queen. Unfortunately, the dark magic now possesses Lynn and she is ready to take the throne. Edward must enter the other side and find a way to save Lynn from the dark magic coursing through her veins before she becomes the Queen of Dark magic, never to return! This episode of Witches' Legacy is played as Edward Watson who is Lynn's husband, I'm not thrilled with that aspect, but it's still one of my favorite series. One of the coolest features this game has to offer besides the wonderful graphics, is that almost everything can be interacted with, especially the magical flowers that put on a fantastic display whenever you click on them, The Imp is back, once Lynn's family dog, now a comical Imp who is ready willing and able to help you at a moments notice. You can click on him as well and watch him ham it up for you with several props he uses to entertain you and himself. You are equipped with a Glass of Truth which lets you see the "real" image of the characters you meet along the way. There are Achievements to earn, Plus Sign inventory items, and 35 Morphing Objects available. There are also 36 Collectible Puzzle pieces that can be pieced together in a jigsaw puzzle that will create 4 different Wallpapers when finished. The Hidden Object Scenes are interactive list finds, after finding 4 silhouetted shapes to uncover the list. Each item that is found usually reveal fragments that form a picture or necessary inventory item, and you can opt for an alternate Matching game where you flip over two cards at a time to make a match of identical items. There are 29 Mini Games, ranging from simple jigsaws to repeating the sequence of feathers lighting up with a specific color pattern. This Collector's Edition has 9 Wallpapers, 9 Art Gallery pictures, 3 Screensavers, 6 Soundtracks, Achievements, 36 Jigsaw puzzle Pieces, 35 Morphing Objects, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST GAME THIS YEAR This game was so much fun for me that I didn't want it to end, and this is the first time in five years that I have really enjoyed playing the Bonus Game. The main game finishes perfectly and the Bonus Game is an interesting, but not necessary, additional pleasure. I think this will be the Number One Game of 2015.
