Spear of Destiny: The Final Journey is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from get the spear so it doesn't change history there is a custom level and interactive map. i didn't really care for the music but that is a small matter since you don't have to listen to it. during the war there has been a rumor come to light that there is an ancient artifact-the spear of destiny-that could change the course of the war. it is your job to find it and stop the enemy from getting it because whoever has the spear can rule the world. sequel? could be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Final Journey - A trip well worth taking! This is a great game offering hours of game play and a story line that links with historical events. There are a wide range of collectibles that keep you engaged and busy ( and are rather difficult to locate, I am my third go). Instead of hidden Objects you can try the new take on match three's with unexpected help from the fighter planes. Super value for money especially as it's not a CE and definately one to keep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good length and fun adventure Excellent SE, nice long game and good adventure without a million hops. The hops they had were not too bad and partially interactive. Wish it the visuals were a bit clearer and crisper though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Games's Features Puts Most CE Games To Shame Being an individual who is fascinated with the history of WWII, I was familiar with the story of how the leaders of certain governments were totally committed to finding "paranormal" or "magical" rituals and objects in order to help them prevail in this conflict. The story of the Spear of Destiny is one which long predates the 1930s and 1940s, but it was in fact searched for with great effort during the war. I was a bit disappointed with the actual amount of WWII history in the storyline. The developers used the Spear as just another "quest object" set against the backdrop of the war. Some of the backgrounds seemed "mythological" and at some times appeared as if they may have been designed originally for another game with WWII elements added. That being said, the graphics are excellent and the quest is as entertaining as any out there. What is most appealing about this game are the special features usually found only in CE versions. These include collectibles and achievements. The game play is fluid, the HOS are challenging and the puzzles are varied and require some thought. I tried very hard to find all of the collections and was distraught when at the end, I had missed three objects along the way. This is a quest game, however, it is unique in it's subject matter. I enjoyed it all the way through. I hope that WWII with it's huge number of fascinating true stories makes it's way into many more games in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best SE Ever!! I just finished this game and I am sad that it is over. It was the best SE that I have played. Stunning graphics and terrific game play. It even has collectibles to find (figurines, uniform items, and war implements like bombs, airplanes, ships a guns). I did not find all the bombs or ships, so I may play again to try to find those so I can watch the movies associated with them. Great, great game. More Big Fish please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should be a Collector's Edition Great story line, there is not a deranged ballerina or a pink and purple fairy anywhere! Elephant games should hire the writers. There are enough in game extras to make this a collector's edition. Love this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YOUR MISSION WALKER, DESTROY THE SPEAR OF DESTINY REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME AND EXTRAS What an amazing game - full on adventure with so much to do. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Expert and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * Diary; * Achievements Rooms. The graphics are superb. Everywhere is colourful and clear to see. Sound is excellent and the music is orchestral and piano. There are a good variety of highly interactive hidden object games which include straightforward and silhouette. There are also morphing objects in these as well. These had a good challenge and I loved playing them. The mini-games are fun to do and there are a lot of them. Some had a very good challenge and took me a while to do and to get in the right order and/or colour. I played them all and never felt out of my depth to defeat them. During the game you will be looking for WWII uniforms, bombs, tanks, ships, planes, etc which will go into the Achievements Rooms. A hand DOES NOT come over these, so keep a good eye out for them. When I found all the tanks, I looked in the Headquarters Achievements Room, put the tank on the table and watched live footage of tanks in action during WWII. Amazing. This also happens with the ships, bombs, planes, etc. I loved this. You can also replay any HOPs and mini-games after you have finished the game. All up the game took me a good 8 hours to play, not skipping or hinting anything, so well worth its money. This game definitely comes recommended. Don't let this one pass you by - its a cracker. Well done Boris and the team - you've done it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ancient Artifacts a Focus in WWII-WELL DONE! At last requests for a more realistic gameplay backdrop are answered! Game was executed in first class style with impressive research, cut-scenes, and voice overs. A very touchy subject, war; yet developers reached into the depths of our fallen heroes to present a game befitting their honor. It's no secret that mysticism, ancient technology and extra-terrestrials played a very big part in Hitler's gestapo war and the spear of destiny is especially well written as one of those possible scenarios. Proudly, my father won six major European war campaign medals and I was pleased that the French underground was correctly portrayed in assisting the Allied Forces. This is the first time in my personal gaming career that gamers actually kill a human enemy and not a dragon or evil wizard so it was quite a sobering experience that brought home the fact that war is real and we rarely, if ever, embrace that reality--unless we have loved ones in law enforcement or the military. Bravo to the developers whose genius aptly wove together a war and a game. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plays like a CE...Wish more SE games were like this one! In the fury of war an amazing discovery was made. The Spear of Destiny has been found after two millennia. It was believed to have been lost forever. Some even decided to describe it as a myth. However, it is real and as powerful as stories say. The Spear of Destiny can change the course of war and the enemy knows it as well. You are sent on a dangerous mission to find this powerful artifact and destroy it. As you travel across the battlegrounds in France, in your search you will face death and destruction on every step of the way but you must succeed at any cost. You don't have much time to lose. If the enemy gets their hands on the artifact, the world as we know it would be completely covered in darkness. Really enjoyed this game - drew me in very quickly. Tons of HOS & doable puzzles, and the music & effects match the game perfectly. Clear graphics, good voice acting and a jump map which is always a plus in my book. Thanks again Big Fish for an outstanding SE. I look forward to more Standard Edition Adventures of this quality. I really recommend this game!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from He Who Wields The Spear Of Destiny Shall Rule The World The Spear of Destiny, the Holy Spear, the Lance of Longinus (named after the soldier who used the spear on Christ while staked at the cross), The spear with powers many leaders sought to possess in order to rule the world. It's no secret that Hitler ordered his men to find the Spear which he believed would end the war, in Germany's favor. Many conspiracies formed around the belief that Hitler did find the Spear of Destiny, but shipped the artifact to Antarctica along with other masterpieces when he knew the war was lost. The Spear is believed to have been in possession of General Patton as well, but the Spear is thought to be cursed, anyone who loses the Spear will die an untimely death, and of course both men were victims of an untimely death. Many churches and museums around the world claim to have the original Spear of Destiny, none of them however, will allow carbon dating to be performed, which means that the gems from the true Spear of Destiny could very well still be guarded by Colossus as interpreted in this fantastic WWII era game. The graphics are absolutely fantastic, the characters are extremely lifelike, and the story is so cool (obviously I'm into this topic) My favorite feature is the variety of Collectibles, starting with Uniforms for the Army, Navy and Marines, Collectible Tanks, Bombardiers, Weapons, Ships and Submarines, and 17 Achievements to earn along the way. There's nothing boring about this game, and a must have addition to almost everyone's collection. The Hidden Object Scenes are very interactive, with listed items as well as silhouetted shape finds, replacing items into the scene as well as progressive interactive scenes where you find the first item that matches the silhouetted shape and use that item in the scene interactively to expose the next item. You can opt for a Match Many game where you click on groups of matching tiles. The Mini Games are really good, but not really anything new. The following are brief description of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Use levers to adjust the mirrors so that the light reflects from all of them and create a beam that will hit the flowers, one lever affects others. 2) Choose the correct spike in order to climb out of the pit, choosing the wrong spike will take you back to the previous spike. 3) Click on the round spots to determine the path the cart takes, without intersecting the line path. This game has the following extras: 8 Wallpapers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 8 Concept Art pictures, replayable Mini Games and HOP's 17 Achievements, Collectible Uniforms, Collectible Ships, Tanks, Bombardiers, Subs, and Weapons, collectible figures, and a war room headquarters, enjoy!
