Rated 2 out of 5 by from IT'S IN THE TITLE DIRE Oh dear I saved this game to enjoy later . That was a serious mistake it is dreadful . Remember the beautiful graphics of the early games Since Eipix got involved the games have steadily declined . I got to the end of chapter 3 and gave up yes it truly was DIRE please, please why have Blue Tea games let this beautiful series slip from their grasp

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the same Dark Parables I loved the Dark Parables series, but since Epix has become involved it has not been the same...I used to just purchase the games without preview, I knew I would enjoy it...now I won't even bother after this one. I was dragging myself to get through this game...not the first time this has happened. When I played Queen of Sands I couldn't even make it through the bonus game, as I usually buy the collector's editions...didn't with this one and so glad for that. The overall feeling of the story is boring and uninteresting. There is little hidden object puzzles, which is becoming more common with the new games...Just the typical find a key go back to some room open this, pick up whatever go back again...the other puzzles were overkill and some repeated the same puzzle over and over...unchallenging and basic. Sorry, but I just can't get into this series anymore, and that is a shame because I looked forward to each new one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Game for Kids As most of the new games that are coming out now, are so incredibly easy, they must be geared toward young kids. As soon as the pop-up chapter book opened up, it proved my point. Why would any developer think gamers would enjoy something so cutesy as cartoon pop-up story puzzles that are so annoying, and little animal or robot helpers, unless they are targeting a very young audience. Why can't games have an option for challenging puzzles or easy, like the Nancy Drew games. For a few games awhile back some of puzzles were super puzzles that had a bunch of things to solve, and I thoroughly enjoyed these types, and now they don't have them anymore. Instead you have story lines that have been done to death, and puzzles where all you have to do is count to 4 to open a lock, and they call that a puzzle. So disappointed with all the new HO games that are out now. Still waiting for one that I can say, wow finally!! Maybe next month :)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Enjoyable I am in the middle of playing this game and am not enjoying it at all. Am a big Dark Parables fan and own them all, but wish I had played the demo first. Won't make that mistake again. Very few hidden object scenes and have skipped half the puzzles. Way too much talking by the characters. The last game in this series was not as good as the others and this one is even worse.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worst Game I'm a Dark Parables junkie, but this game shouldn't be in the family of Dark Parables as the story line is awful and not enough hidden object activity

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I like the Dark Parables but this one is not up to par This was the worst Dark Parables. All I did was use hints and the skip button, Could not wait to get it over. I do not do reviews but this was one I thought was awful. I enjoy a fun game that makes you think but is fun this was not. I hope the next on will be better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What it could have been but was not There's just so much that could have been done to make this better. The art and animation were choppy. Usually I'm drawn in by a lot of details, but I quickly became bored with it and had to force myself to actually finish the game completely. I think what I disliked most is that it felt so short to me. I was disappointed with the time jump. I would have given this game one more star if they focused on the journey getting to the Dire Tree. It's not worth it. If Blue Tea doesn't take the dark parables series away from Eipix, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some who stopped buying the new games. Turn back now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money This is all over the place. The tasks don't really follow the story line. Nothing makes since. The mini games instructions.. aren't instructions. I don't want to spend my time trying to figure out how to play the game I want to spend my time trying to beat the game. It had potential to be a great game...but its just all over the place. Very badly done, feels like a rush job. I give it 1/4 star. I quit the game...not worth finishing.
