Rite of Passage: Deck of Fates Collector's Edition is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Something different for a change I just finished this game and it was fantastic. I've played a lot of HOGs, and they tend to be pretty predictable. Someone goes missing, you have to investigate, you drive a car somewhere, etc. This one is different. While you have to find someone as usual, you get sucked into a sinister game with creepy characters. The Deck of Fates game occurs in rounds, and each is a little more interesting than the last. I really liked the way this game progressed. The mini-games and HOPs were better than average with a good level of challenge. Great story with an interesting twist, vivid graphics with beautiful detail, and excellent voiceovers. I highly recommend this one. Plus, I'm so glad to be able to play as a male! Why does practically every game have a female protagonist? It would be great to be able to pick whether to play as a male or female. So far I think I've only encountered one game where this was an option. Come on, developers!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Madhead Does It Again! I play for the storyline, mostly. The puzzles and the games are fun too, but mostly play for the storyline. When I first started playing it was like a good book that you can't put down. I couldn't stop playing! The story had me hooked. The graphics were great but felt it could've been a pit more polished. The sound excellent and yes the puzzles were fun! This game is highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One Of The Best Games Of 2016 I agree with all the wonderful things that have been said about another fabulous and innovative game by MadHead. Loaded with puzzles. Love it. Love it Love it. Also, liked that there was only one collectable to find. I like finding morphing items and collectables, but spending so much time on finding these items, I find it distracts from the overall gameplay. The ending of the main game was such a surprise. I was stunned and a bit apprehensive. Wow great thought went into making a great ending. I especially liked the bonus chapter. It was a delight. Loved the little feisty imps. Greedy and snarky little guys. Cake they demanded and I made a great one. MadHead, I continue to applaud you. You have a great team of gifted and imaginative people. Thank you Big Fish for all the outstanding games you provide to your customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior Game of All Games This is one of the few games that I felt that I HAD to write a review. Every aspect of the game of stupendous! It held you captivated from the beginning to the end of the game. It is a game that would be awesome if they actually made a series for it by itself. They could develop many, many more; starting with how the cards began. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME FOR ALL PLAYERS

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rite of Passage: Deck of Fates Collector's Edition I truly enjoyed playing this game, with its captivating plotline, great graphics and interesting characters! Good assortment of mini-puzzles with HOGs scattered between. If you like cards of fate decks, I would recommend also trying "Dangerous Games: Prisoners of Destiny Collector's Edition."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic addition to the series If you liked other games in the series you will love this one. Sometimes the ending and bonus chapter can be disappointing not in this one. It is worth buying the collectors addition for the bonus chapter. The ending didn't feel rushed like they sometimes do. All in all a very satisfying way to spend a day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fun with new puzzles This was a fun game with a different storyline and many new types of puzzles. The story pits players of the card game against each other and yes, there is someone to rescue, but it was different from most HOGs and I will play it over and over again. Thanks for a great game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SORRY, FRIEND I'M DEAD REVIEW OF COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS This is such a fantastic game and so worth playing. The main story is about Evan trying to find Melissa in a Deck of Fates card game. The bonus is about Melissa rescuing Evan where she collects cards through three different portals. There is: * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Easy, Medium, Hard and Custom modes of play; * Journal; * Interactive map; * 14 Achievements (each with three accomplishments); * Find 29 collectible symbols (dog paws) in game and bonus; * Lots of extras. The graphics are colourful and crystal clear. It was fun roaming around, never knowing what I would find next. Sound is good and the music is orchestral. The hidden object games are interactive straightforward, moving the slides across and down to find the item, matching colours and shapes of birds, finding keys, etc. These all had a good challenge to them and I really enjoyed them. There is one morphing object per HOP which I always do first so I don't forget about it, cause you can't go back. There are a great variety of mini-games to play. Some of these are really challenging. You think to yourself "this one won't take me long" - WRONG. Some of them are much harder than you first think. However, none of them are frustrating or boring and I did them all without help, so they can't be too bad. There are 29 dog paws to find throughout the game and bonus. Some are easy to spot and others are well hidden. If you prefer to do them altogether later or you miss any, then you can do this in the Extras. I found I didn't need to use the interactive map as you are only going a couple of steps forwards or backwards, so there was no need to use it. You pretty much stick around the same area until everything is done. Every time you use a card you will play a small mini-game of getting the ball into the hole while it is rotating and playing a memory game of matching 3 runes in a grid. These are not too tricky but does take some co-ordination and remembering which runes go where. All up the game and bonus took me about 7 hours to play, which I did during the course of the week. I had started the game over the weekend, but just after midnight on Sunday we had a very large 7.8 earthquake here and I spent the better half of 2 days clearing up here at home and at work, so sometimes I forgot where I was at because I was just so tired. In the extras you can do an Ultimate HOP, a jigsaw puzzle, replay the HOPs and mini-games, find any dog paws that you missed or wanted to do later, as well as all the other extras like wallpapers, music, etc. Overall, a fabulous game and definitely worth putting in your collection. Happy playing fishies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from card game with deadly results I flat out loved this game; plot was superb, great graphics, puzzles were okay. Cut scenes were a little meh, but overall a great story and ending. All for love.
