Spirit of Revenge: Gem Fury is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved Spirit of Revenge : Gem Fury I have to say I really enjoyed this game. I play to unwind & relax & this was right up my alley. I'm not going to go into the whole story line like some do. Kind of ruins the fun & surprise. I take care of Mentally Disabled Kids & Adults so in my off time, I don't want a game that's frying my brain more. I'm not into the puzzle's that take 30 - 45 min to figure out. LOL Like I said, I'm tired after work & at age 60, I need something fun. If you are looking for an easier flowing game that you can just enjoy then this one's for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gems in a mine that kills a school teacher finds an antique bracelet and puts it on and the spirit of revenge in the bracelet takes over her mind. she kidnaps young children and puts a curse of the local mine that any miners that is in there overnight die the next morning. the man that bought the mine knowing about the gems does. not. care. he wants the gems and is getting greedier and greedier. many miners are dying and the miners and the families that moved there to work in the mines are leaving. you are asked by your sister to find her daughter since you are a detective and parapsychologist. that is how you get involved. there is a custom level and an interactive map and good hint system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good one. Free the kids and cross the revenge. my ranking is based on completion of SE and fulfillment of any personal requirements. These are: - First of all, a decent length, I needed nearly 5 hours. That’s fine. - Good graphics: may be a little gloomy, but matching the story. - A lot of location to be discovered - Good Animation: nicely done. - Good Voice over - Tools: An interactive map. And a ghost catcher, that has to be assembled first. - Good Story: you’re going to free 4 kids. Step by step you’re revealing the truth about the village and mines. A story about greed, traitor and revenge. - Different and interesting HO’s: They were really good. Some were interactive. - Tricky mini games: Including one super puzzle, I liked most. - I could have go without the “helping light-ups”, which were illuminating right placings, the mini games would have been more difficult without them. - Challenge: The tasks were logical, but not that easy. - Difficulty to be customized. You can choose: tutorial, sparkles at HO’s, glints, hint / skip recharges. Unfortunately, you can’t exclude helping texts. A challenging game, with good HO’s and interesting mini games.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A VENGEFUL SPIRIT IS CREATING CHAOS IN THIS WONDERFUL GAME This is the third game in the Spirit of Revenge series and this one might just be the best. It is, IMHO, a terrific game. Once again, you play the game as Brenda Gale (an investigative parapsychologist) and this time you have recently returned home after some exciting cases in England. It seems that you have returned none too soon when you receive a desperate phone call from your sister letting you know that your niece Lisa has disappeared with the other children while they were at camp. Once you begin your investigation you discover that a horrible fate awaits the children and that you must find them as quickly as possible. There are four modes of gameplay including a custom mode where you can set your hint and skip options to recharge in a range of 15 to 270 seconds. Graphics are quite good and while the lip-synced voiceovers are generally good, the sheriff’s hokey accent is silly and downright annoying. Your tools include an interactive map that you find early in the game and a Ghost Catcher that is a scanner of sorts. Fortunately it doesn’t need to be charged each time we need to use it so it isn’t a gimmick and does serve a purpose in the game. The HOPS excellent and seem a bit different than what we normally see. Some of the HOPS are multi-tiered and almost seem like puzzles. Wow, there are lots of puzzles in this game – far more than there are HOPS. Some of the puzzles are tricky and during the demo there is a super puzzle that I loved. Even though there were some different puzzles, one of the first has appeared in a lot of games and that is one where we must safely navigate our way up a cliff or mountainside while avoiding the pitfalls. Since I am a huge fan of puzzles in a game, Gem Fury is perfect for me and the way I like to play. There is a lot of adventure and discovery along with HOPS in the game so it is not one puzzle after another but there seem to be more than usual for HOPA games. I found the storyline good (although worn out) and I am beginning to tire of an unspecified evil that has reincarnated, been released, or never died that is seeking to take over the world or wreak revenge on others. Surely, it is time for developers to look outward towards the stars and maybe come up with some new game plans. Of course if you are not a HOPA addict, then you probably are not tired of the plethora of evil that has been unleashed in recent games. In spite of the well-worn storyline, I still loved the game because of all its bits and pieces that came together to create an excellent game. Please try the demo first to see if Spirit of Revenge Gem Fury is the game for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Absorbing Paranormal Detective Adventure You play paranormal detective Brenda Gale tasked with finding her niece. You end up wandering through an abandoned mining town that is haunted by the Spirit of Revenge. As you come across clues, you learn the history of the town, find the missing children, and learn the motivation behind the vengeful ghost. "Gem Fury" is not the best title for this game--makes it sound like a shoot-em gem game. The story moves along at a good clip, and the tasks to perform are mostly logical and easy to intuit for experienced gamers. The graphics are good, but a little bit scary and might not be suitable for younger kids. The animation, voiceovers, and transitions are excellent. All the elements of this game are well thought out, making for a great gaming experience. The HOS have a lot of interaction to make the usual more interesting. Mini puzzles are mostly easy, but enough challenge to avoid frustration. I could have done without the scary ghost, but all other aspects of this game are excellent, especially if you like paranormal mysteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a ride you're in for! I just finished the SE version of this game and I must say regarding game-play and flow, this game can't be beat. It had momentum, one task after another. There is lot of back n' forth but what game doesn't have that. The map was great, the hint button, if needed, was great. But the puzzles and HOPs, and mini-games were woven in such a manner that I wanted more of that. This game will not disappoint. Some puzzles were a little too easy and some were extremely tricky, but all were very clever. Devs, great job on this! However, devs, you might want to have a few more proofreaders go over the script. I do read the material and find that improper grammar and typos often slip through some games now and then. And this game is no exception. One of the sentences involves a Mr. Wulf, a baddie, who sends in miners at night to find gems, and the word keep was used twice (and one with an 's') as follows: "He keep keeps sending workers into the mines at night." I know it's not mind-shattering, but you might want to edit your material one more time before the game is finalized. The voiceovers were great, but I felt there was too much dialogue. Still that did not deter me from the game because the projects were outstanding. The music was good, too. I'm rating this game a 4-1/2 stars. The artwork was very good, the manner in which the tasks were accomplished was very good. The movement of this game was swift, and on to the next--right up my alley! Strategy was phenomenal! Lots of fun things to do in this game. The storyline isn't bad. Brenda, who is a parapsychologist, also works for the police, and sets out to save her sister's daughter, Liza, and other children, who are at summer camp but are nowhere to be found. The storyline also involves a teacher named Ms. Cameron, one of the key characters in this story. There were a few quirks in the HOP scenes from time to time, like clicking the mouse several times or trying to situate it on the exact spot of the object to complete the task. This game was definitely not boring at all. Full of fun, and even though some of the scenes are dreary ones, you will find yourself engrossed in the game-play for sure! I highly recommend it!
