Living Legends: Beasts of Bremen is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Let's Make Beautiful Music Together (to break the curse!) Yet another great Living Legends game! This time instead of dealing with ice or vines, you're dealing with purple fog. There were lots of fun mini-games to be played along with the usual HO scenes. A lot of people found the music to be monotonous, but I thought it was lovely. And as usual, the art and graphics were breathtaking. Not to give anything away, but even the villain has a happy ending.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grabs Your Attention! LL: Beasts of Bremen is a fantastic game. It has mystery, adventure and on top of all that is a ghost story that really grabs you!...You begin with feeling sorry for the people of Bremen, but soon you realize as the story progresses they are not so nice people. They imprisoned a young girl because she was different how different well it does not make that clear, but NO ONE came to rescue the poor thing...they imprisoned her in a tower...well you get the drift. Hence her name RAPUNZEL but not quite the fairytale version...Play the game and you shall see the TRUTH! Game holds your attention, mini game are good also and cause you to think a bit. I like a lot of hidden games but this one I loved!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a game I truly enjoyed from start to finish! I absolutely loved this game. The graphics were great, the games and hidden object scenes were very good, but the best part about this game was the story. You knew what the story was throughout the entire game and everything you did ie. games. Hog's pushed the story along! It's a relatively easy game which is what I find fun and relaxing and enjoyable. Not so easy that you get bored or feel like it's childish just easy enough to make it a lot of fun for an adult to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ~~~Prevent the curse from taking over Rosabella and the town of Bremen! ~~~ Review of game played in it's ENTIRETY. 4 Friends Games is back with the latest installment in the Living Legends franchise. In Living Legends: Beasts of Bremen CE/SE, you play the role of one of two identical twins; Emily. Your character Emily is a researcher, while her twin, Rosabella, is an accomplished musician. Rosabella had been chosen as one of the four musicians who were set to play in the town of Bremen for their Music Festival. Identical twins may not be 100% identical, but they’ll always be there for one another. This is but one of the lessons that you’ll learn in this highly engaging Hidden Object game. However, things are not as they seem. The four musicians have been chosen to carry an ancient curse from what the townsfolk called as “The Mistress of the Fog.” After being sealed, the Mistress wishes to be free and your sister, together with her companions, is the key to releasing her from her prison. Of course, it’s your role to stop that from happening. Starting from the opening cinematic, you’ll find yourself totally drawn in to the world of the game. The combination of an eerily effective score and high quality graphics works to immerse you into the environment. You’d certainly want to get to the bottom of the story after you’ve watched the opening, and more so after you have played the first few minutes of the game. So, instead of a linear experience that has you clicking away at objects in the puzzle, you’re compelled to take on the puzzle from a different perspective. You’ll have to look at what the game says you’ll need in order to expose that Hidden Object. This works to remove whatever feelings of monotony you might get from the game. It quickly turns into another case for Emily cause she has no doubt that she needs to deal with another living legend. It is a Mistress of fog who is behind it all. But Emily can not resist the fog forever. She has to hurry to find her missing sister, defeat the diabolical Mistress and help the town to go back to its original state. The game's graphics are beautiful and fitting the time and place. The scenes are colorful but with a feel of dark magic in them. The festival details add another interesting kick to the locations of the town of Bremen. If you choose the CE version you can enjoy helping the prince find a magic water source in the bonus chapter! I'm an avid fan of all editions of this wonderful series. I look forward to the next exciting edition of this superb series! I recommend this and all the other's as well. Cheers!  In this series: •Living Legends: Ice Rose •Living Legends: Frozen Beauty •Living Legends: Wrath of the Beast •Living Legends: Bound by Wishes •Living Legends: Beasts of Bremen

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rapunzel Rapunzel, let down your curse... The game play was good, but I found myself questioning the story line. If you are new to HO games, then this is a great game to start with. Overall, the game was not bad, I just thought it could be more challenging. I played without hints and without skips, no sparkles or active area help at all. I do like the fact that you can do this and change your level of help within the game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not really my cup of tea, but it is a tasty brew. The CE version of the game garnered rave reviews from a great many reviewers, and after playing the SE demo I can see why. The graphics and sound are very good, consistent with, and appropriate for the story setting. If you've read my other reviews you know I'm not a big fan of puzzles —for the most part, I find them to be exercises by the coders to show how clever they are —the puzzles in this game, while mildly challenging, did not send me grabbing for the skip button. The HO sequences were not a big challenge either, but they had sufficient variety to make them entertaining. Now for the Ho Hum report . . . here's another city in the grips of a fiendish character, another instance of people being turned into monsters who you must restore to their human form, and another game where the protagonist is a young woman whose mission is to save her kidnapped sister from the clutches of the fiendish character. I'm an old guy, some might even call me a curmudgeon, and I'd really like to have a more frequent opportunity to stay in gender while playing these games than allowed by most of those offered by Big Fish. Not that I don't like women, or think it improbable for them to be heroic, but I'm a little weary of having to cross-dress, as it were, when playing a game. If you just want a pleasant, fairly easy game to play, this one will suit you just fine. As always, my caveat is to play the demo and decide for yourself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've Always Suspected My Twin Sister Was A Beast Rosabella and Emily Dorner are identical twins who have pursued unidentical lifestyles. Rosabella is a talented musician, Emily chases down Living Legends, but Emily never dreamed she'd have to save her own sister from a Living Legend, a beastly legend! The entire town of Bremen, where Rosabella was performing with three other musicians, has been transformed into beasts by the Mistress of the fog. It doesn't take Emily long to figure out that the musicians are the key to everything, but can Emily resist the fog long enough to save her sister? I purchased the Collector's Edition of this entertaining fantasy themed game, because each scene has a Morphing Object and a Paper Doll Collectible. Although the cursor doesn't change, I must admit that they aren't very challenging to find which is my only disappointment in this amazing game. You will eventually find an amulet that can neutralize the dark magic curse, and naturally you have to play a Mini Game before using it. The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with Interactive List finds, Multiples of one item type, and Interactive, Progressive Silhouetted Shape finds, for example. Personally, I really don't care about varieties, I actually prefer the interactive list finds. The Mini Games are very doable, but that doesn't matter to me either, easy doesn't mean its not fun. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1) Move blocks to allow the key to enter the lock.in a "blocks" game variation. 2) Recreate the face by swapping tiles then place the magicians where they belong. 3) Restore the key by selecting tiles until the correct image is shown. 4) Restore the fresco by swapping two free tiles and then select the button to change which tiles are covered by moss to complete. 5) Block the cats path on a honeycomb grid to surround him. 6) Remove all tiles from the board by dragging a line of at least 3 identical tiles to remove, repeat 3 different levels. The Collector's Edition has 22 Achievements to earn, 10 Wallpapers, 4 Screensavers, 12 Concept Art pictures, 25 Collectible Paper Dolls, 25 Morphing Objects, 5 Music Soundtracks, 35 Videos, 21 replayable Mini Games, 16 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Two tales for the price of one? Had I written my review after playing the demo, my rating would have been higher -- probably 5 stars -- and because I found the demo so enchanting, I bought the game. Unfortunately, after that it all fell apart -- the story, the gameplay, the boring, repetitive music -- about all that held up was the excellent, detailed artwork. I dislike puzzles / mini-games, but at least two were not skippable. Lucky for me they weren't very challenging to solve, but it was annoying. The HOS were interesting and also challenging. Some objects were hidden in the dark and very hard to find. Sometimes squinting and leaning closer to the screen was required. You play each HOS twice. They're easier the second time. There's a LOT of backing and forthing. Sadly, the map is pretty much useless and the hints are not transporting, so that was a downer. Also, there are some long lag times going to new locations. My overall opinion is, excellent artwork notwithstanding, the game failed to meet the promise held out during the demo.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Ghost Story... How Unique This is posted after playing the demo. I suppose this game has it pluses, but I'm hard pressed to find them. It's about the same thing we've been getting here lately, and I have totally lost interest in them. I really am looking for something that doesn't have witches, goblins, ghosts and all the rest of the supernatural elements this genre has to offer. I just did not find this game much fun at all. The graphics were well done and the sound was excellent, especially the voiceovers. They were more natural than most. The music was not intrusive and the effects went along with the scene. I liked the level of challenge this game offers. The hidden object scenes were varied and kept my interest and the mini games were to my liking..I'm not a big fan of mini games, but I was able to complete all the ones offered in this demo. So far as helpers, you have an interactive map which shows places where things can be done and transports. The only problem I had with the game, was you need to find pieces to a mosaic. It was indicating I needed 5 and it showed I had 4. When I was lost as to what to do I hit the hint and it took me to the mosaic and sure enough I had them all. I might have mislooked at the inventory, but I don't think so. The worse part of this game was the story. It was about the same old stuff. Sister gets taken and turned into a monster along with the other musicians. Others will go more indepth about the story, but I will just say, enough is enough. I want something different. Other than the story line, I suppose this would be an okay game. Not a buy for me, but you play the demo and decide for yourself.
