World's Greatest Places Mosaics 4 is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from love shapes Like others have said this game did come out really quick after the last one. I have had no issues with the colors or edges. Maybe a bit hard to see but certainly doable. I really enjoy shape puzzles just to have something different from the ordinary mosaic. I also like the hidden puzzles which are small bits of fun. Not sure maybe it was in their cities series? but I really enjoyed the labyrinth and hidden picture puzzles. If they could incorporate the three best, shapes, labyrinths, and hidden animated pictures into one game it would be the ultimate for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NO VARIETY I always buy these games without playing the demo because I've always enjoyed them. However, the last two games I'm playing have dropped the Labyrinth and Mystery Lands boards. With only two types of game play, multi-color and shapes, the games have become boring. I particularly like the Labyrinth boards but both this one and the Mystery Lands had some wonderful, colorful graphics and animation. From now on, I'll play the trial for any future releases in these series and if this pattern continues, I will not waste my money, In fact, I'm not sure I'm going to finish the ones I've already purchased. What a disappointment and what a step backwards for what started out as 5 star games.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my favorite Mosaic And I feel I'm being a bit generous with 3 stars but I realize some may like this game - I didn't. First, there is some guessing required, and although you get 4 hints with no penalty, that's not really the point of these games. Second, the pictures created are random blobs of this and that for the most part. Once in a while I could say, that's a key, or that's a coffee pot, but none of them are interesting where you say, oh cool. Third, I really don't care at all for the "shapes" puzzles where you have to click to change color and to change shape. The shapes have no purpose other than to be different from the other shapes and when you change colors it doesn't automatically go to the first shape which causes errors you wouldn't typically make. The shapes don't depict anything unique as far as I can see. Fourth, some are so simplistic that they're a total waste of time and many only have 3 colors. When there are more colors often there is only 1 square with the additional colors. And last, although it calls itself the world's greatest places, the pictures do not depict anything to do with places. I love the genre but not this game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from too hard to see and no intuitive switching it's all fun and games inthe colors challenges, but when those shape boards come up, it's firstly hard to see, and secondly if you did one shape it switches, but I had to go back soooo many times because it doesn't recognize what you are doing or want to do and it takes a while to get used to. The little locked levels are cute, certainly more of a brain teaser, but not a game I would recommend

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Take more time and make them better! This is the 3rd nonogram release from these devs in a little over 1 month (April 26 was the previous one). I like the multi-colored and multi-shaped ideas, but I had to use a hint on level 3 (teapot) as I reached a dead end: it was impossible NOT to guess which of 2 squares (out of 4) contained the pieces of the spout. It reminded me of how disappointing it was to reach a dead end in "Minesweeper". The mechanics work well, but you have to stay sharp to choose the proper color/shape combo. As in their prior game, there is sometimes a puzzle within a puzzle, which can be skipped. Enjoyable overall... if you don't mind having to use a hint. Try it and judge for yourself! I think it still sharpens the brain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from IS LESS MORE? It hasn't been long since World's Greatest Places Mosaics released the last Griddler puzzle in this series. In the last game there were 3 different types offered and in this fourth game, there are only two different styles offered. That is one of the reason's I fell in love with this series, because they have several Mosaic types offered in each game, and they are creative types at that, so Less is Not More! Did they finally run out of new ideas? My favorite type is the Shapes Mosaics because, for me, it adds just a little bit more of a challenge and fun, so at least that was one of the versions that remained. Who knows, maybe the other types weren't well received by fans of this genre? It is a tad bit difficult to see the numbers on some of the puzzles because of the background, but I didn't have a whole lot of issues in that department. I also thought the boards could be a little bigger because they jump between sizes from puzzle to puzzle, and some are quite small, and I also wish (like one reviewer mentioned) the pictures were labled so you had comformation of what the picture actually was! Once again, you can choose the difficulty of the puzzles from several options. Casual mode has no timer, numbers are crossed off one by one and the hint timer recharges quickly. Normal mode has a timer with plenty of time, numbers are still crossed off one by one, and the hint recharges slowly. Expert mode gives you limited time to complete each level, numbers are crossed off only when an entire row has been completed, and the hint recharges very slowly. However, there's also a Custom mode setting that allows you to choose whether or not you want a timer, how long the hint takes to recharge from 30-120 seconds, how many mistakes you are allowed from 1-5, whether you want the numbers crossed off one by one or when an entire row is completed, and whether you want a time bonus. In this version of World's Greatest Places Mosaics 4, there are only 2 variants offered, Traditional Multi-colored Mosaics, and Shapes, where you are challenged to not only switch between colors but between colors and shapes. The numbers located on each column and row will indicate the shape, for instance, there might be a number 5 that has a circle around the number, indicating that you must switch to the circle shape button, or it may have a square or a hexagon shape around the number. World's Greatest Places Mosaics, always gives you some interesting facts and pictures about interesting places around the world. I really like how they are able to add new twists to an age-old standard, but only offering 2 variants of Griddlers seem like they are offering less, not more! Rated 2 out of 5 by from too easy and too difficult The pictures themselves are extremely simplistic with very little challenge in various colors mode, making for a boring experience. The pictures in the shapes mode is obscured by the shape outline being extremely difficult to distinguish especially between circles and hexagons so it becomes a chore to keep pushing forward to the next one after one that can be solved in 30 seconds zip zip zip 9-9-9-8-8-8-7-7-6-5- etc. and shapes that get x'd out because of black background making it impossible to tell circle? hexagon? whatever!! but the idea is great especially the shapes so just slow down and give more detailed pictures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Visual Factors Get a D Minus I had played several of the games in this series and enjoyed them. Then, the designer decided to start using a black border, on which the details are very hard to discern. They have added shapes to the colors, which is a clever idea. I have two problems with this game. The shapes are hard to see against the black border, and there does not seem to be a picture of anything after you finish the puzzle, but just a design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too confusing. Didn't like the changing of the shape at all as the instructions and display were not enough to be fun. Just want to do regular mosaics. Nothing fancy.
