Jewel Match Royale 2: Rise of the King is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best of the series so far. I write very few reviews, so believe me on this one. I have played or purchased every game in this series because they are relaxing and mindless. This one has it all - many levels, bonus levels, ability to play relaxed, timed, or number of moves, chose from 2 difficulty levels, bonus games, and not a lot of "theme" stuff going on. Just basically build castles. You can't finish this one in a couple hours, it is satisfyingly long. It has it all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You'll like it. Graphics are a bit different than the first one but basically the same game; more elaborate. Castle's are bigger; tons of levels. Mute the music & listen to the ocean crashing on the beach; very soothing. Somewhat addicting; you'll play it again & again. Never did figure out what the land mines did though or the make-up compact on the left side. But overall; great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game I had to try this version and I really love it! Yes the game play is like many of the others but the graphics, sounds and music are wonderful! The music is very relaxing for me even if it is repetitive. Gameplay is smooth and there are some new aspects to this version. Also some newer symbols to remove. I especially like the new butterfly in the bonus room. The new castles are so beautiful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another brilliant JM game! I love the Jewel Match games and this is another fantastic addition to the series. Beautiful and relaxing match-3 game play, a nice story, and a bunch of fun castles to rebuild. Can't recommend it enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful game This is a wonderful sequel to Jewel Match Royale. The story continues. I love everything about this game: story, graphics, music and the gameplay is a lot of fun. The levels are big, as usual. And it's a long game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Jewel Match Royale 2: Rise of the King I have the other Jewel Match games so I am basing this game on them. I enjoy all the Jewel Match games, but on this one, I miss the larger boards and tiles. I find it harder to find the tiles to match unless I take my time. I thought it was fun to move the board back and forth until I completed the room, which this game does not have. All in all, I will still continue to play it and then save the game when completed for another day in the future. I hope the next Jewel Match game will continue on with the moving board and larger tiles. I am not too sure where the jewel match game after completing the garden level comes in to play? Maybe if the jewels had some glitter to them, it would be more interesting to complete. Again, I will store this game when completed with my other PC games.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sooooo disappointed I have all of these games and this is sooooo boring, no action at all, never ! ran out of lives, did not tax me at all and not worth the money. I love the Majong part of it even that was simple in comparison to other games. I only found 120 levels cannot find other 10 so feel hard done by, it just suddenly ended.!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from DOESN'T HAVE A GOOD REPLAY VALUE I love the regular Jewel Match games because of the beautiful gems. I can replay those Match 3 games over and over without getting bored, but that wasn't the case with this Royale version, it was fun the first go round, but it's just kinda boring the second go round. I was waiting so patiently for this version to be released too! I don't know exactly why it seemed boring this time, perhaps the regular unappealing tiles play a factor because they make the game too busy and hectic looking, more than once I found myself pausing because I couldn't "see" the available matches because of it. This is a highly customizable game, which allows you to disable or enable the Hint Arrows or the Interactive Help tutorial. Then you can choose to play in a Timed Mode, a Limited Moves Mode or a Relaxed Mode. Then you get to choose to play whichever type you selected, in a Normal or Advanced difficulty mode, which I have to admit is awesome. You can even switch back and forth between modes or difficulty without canceling your progress, which is even more awesome. Each level has several "rooms" to complete when one room is cleared, you click on the arrows to visit the next room. If you have time remaining after completing a level, you can either continue or go to the previous rooms and search for bonus items. I don't know of any other Match 3 that has this feature. Coins that appear can be collected with a single click (they will disappear after a brief amount of time) and Bags of Coins must be dropped off of the board to collect by making matches under them. The Coins earned can be used to purchase upgrades of power-ups in the shop, such as a Hammer to remove specific tiles, bombs, lightning or bolt-cutter chain destroyers. Stars are collected by dropping off the board as well, and the Stars are used to purchase decorations such as Statues, Flowers or Animals. Large matches will reward you with power-ups, such as a Match 4 gives you a Chroma Piece that can be matched with any tiles, and a Match 5 or more, awards you with a Royal Arrow that clears rows or columns or both. The object is to clear all gold cells by making matches over them. Some items require you to make matches under the items such as Keys until they fall off the board. Mana Bottles must be collected to cast spells, and Treasure Chests can be upgraded to hold a greater number of tiles, because once full, other tiles collected will go unused. There are various obstacles such as Wooden Crates, Chains, Double Chains, Dark Fog, Amber Trapped tiles, and even Safe tiles that require a specified number of matches made next to them, according to the number inside. Some levels have a Garden Room, that will unlock once the other rooms have been emptied. Inside the Garden Room, you can collect more Coins, Stars and occasionally a Butterfly. Once you collect the tricky little Butterfly, the Crystal Room will unlock, which in turn will unlock Bonus Mini Games. In the Crystal Room, however, new tiles are NOT generated, so a little strategy may be necessary. If you haven't tried any of the Jewel Match 3 games, I strongly suggest you try one of the original Jewel Match games (not Royale versions) or one of my favorites, Jewel Match Twilight, before playing this Standard version Royale. I can replay those games time after time, without getting bored. The Jewels are beautiful, and so are the Castles. Personally, I don't think the CE version has anything exciting enough to constitute a double the cost price tag, but that's just my personal preference. The Collector's Edition version has 9 Extra Wallpapers, 5 Character Portraits Jigsaw Puzzles, 16 Extra Mahjong Layouts, 3 Extra Castles, Making Of pictures, 8 Music Soundtracks, 6 Custom Cursors, 60 Extra Levels (ok, I'll admit that one's impressive!) and a built-in Strategy Guide. Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was OK, But.... This is the follow up to the first Jewel Match Royal. The story continues with the gardener's son having finally married his princess and now he's in a position to help the kingdom and rule a kingdom of his own. Of course first he'll have to work his way through dozens of Match 3 boards and various bonus levels, using his earnings to build things along the way. Good stuff: This is a Match 3 with so many things going on, I felt dizzy. There are levels of play, bonus levels, coins popping up, pieces that move, shake, explode, glitter, and transform. There are bonus games and treasure boxes to upgrade. Plus there are coins to collect, extra items to buy, and monuments to build. Bad stuff: In the end, it is a Match 3 game. I didn't see anything that made it worth the price if I already own the first Jewel Match Royale. I can just play the first Jewel Match game as no board will ever come out the same way twice. There is a striking similarity between the two games, as the only real change is the minimal, but new, story thrown in with the gameand a couple of extras to collect/buy. There were pop up messages that had to be "answered" before you could continue to play as part of the tutorial. You can't skip them as there is so much going on, you may wish for a manual. Mostly the constant barrage of new play facets coming at me just left me wondering if I was even doing a good job of playing the game. I kept wondering if I had missed some bit of strategy or a bonus. Those "special" pieces that shake, rattle, and roll tend to be more distracting than anything else. Bottom line, from the levels apparently available, this should be a virtually endless game. Usually I like a Match 3 or puzzle game to offset the HOPs/Adventure games, but I felt confused and disoriented even though I had played the first Jewel Match. Apparently there can be too much of a good thing! Please try the demo. You may like the barrage of game elements and frenzied action. I am just overwhelmed.
