Spring in Japan Mosaic Edition is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of fun, some fixes should be made For some reason, I didn't have the "brush" issue that others have mentioned and I was grateful. But the story telling kept getting cut off and yes, I like story lines. Very frustrating to have the girls voice get cut off before she finished talking. Also, agree that the colors were very close a lot of times, but I chose to use that as a challenge. The music drove me nuts after awhile, but I just turned it off. After playing so many "Penguin" games with no story line and basic graphic images popping in to fill whatever location the penguins are, I'm done with those. And having no new "Rainbow Mosaic" games to play, I found this a pleasant diversion. I recommend it, but always play first to see if it makes you happy. It did me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SPRING IN JAPAN PROVES YOU DON'T NEED A TON OF FLASHY COLORS TO MAKE A BEAUTIFUL MOSAIC Spring in Japan is a visually stunning Mosaic game that is challenging, entertaining and logical! This game proves that you don't have to include 6 colors of every hue ever created just to make a beautiful mosaic. They use colors that pop, like jet black next to cherry red, NOT used bubblegum pink, chalky blue, purple-nurple, ghastly green grenade, your grandma's yellow stove, and hazle-walnut mocha from the gas station colors like most mosaic games do. You can choose from 3 different difficulty modes, Bronze (Easy) which gives you a 30-second refill timer, 5 Lives, 9 Shovels to reveal a single dot, and 3 bombs to remove a 3x3 field. Silver (Medium) gives you a 60-second hint refill timer, 3 Lives, 6 Shovels and 2 Bombs. Gold (Hard) gives you a 120-second hint refill timer, 1 Life, 2 Shovels and 1 Bomb. There are 2 issues or flaws I have with this game, and others have made comments as well. The numbers on the columns and rows are difficult to see because they blend into the background, they could use a size adjustment as well. There is a Brush that is cumbersome and gets in the way because it sits on top of the Cursor, which is confusing because it appears that it is pointing to the cell above the one you want to apply color on. The music is perfect, very soothing and very relaxing. You can hear wildlife and birds chirping in the distant background as well. This is how a Mosaic game should be, beautiful and relaxing, enjoy! by Pix Quake Games: Belgrade Serbia Four Seasons Around The World, Spring In Japan, Summer In Italy, The Adventures Of Jason And The Argonauts, The Adventures Of Perseus, Bunny Quest

Rated 5 out of 5 by from NOT more of the same! SPRING IN JAPAN MOSAIC EDITION is a very nice game. The gameplay is logical and play is a lot like other games of this genre. BUT, after you play a while, you can earn lives, bombs and shovels to rid yourself of a mistake. You can play in Easy, Medium or Hard mode. The hints and bonuses decrease with each mode. My only issues were that the puzzle is a little smaller than I'd like and the numbers a little harder to read. I don't care for the paintbrush attached to my cursor, either. Otherwise, it is a beautiful and challenging game. I will be buying it. Give it a try....it will be a great addition to your puzzle library!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE JAPAN!!!! I am surprised to see a mosaic version of Spring in Japan and all I can say is MORE PLEASE!!!! I love the colours, I especially love the oriental theme :)...I find this different as far as hints go and since I am not that experienced yet, this is great! I hope the Developers continue in this genre, they did a great job! IMO :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What an annoying narration! The voice of the narrator irritates me, a bad idea for a game with any kind of plot. And the plot goes nowhere. But the game itself is all right. I don't necessarily need a high challenge level for nomograms, and this is just high enough to keep me alert. If you can stand the narration--or are willing to mute it--go ahead and get this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Enjoyable Mosaic Game! Looks like it's unanimous -- we don't like the paintbrush cursor! I didn't find it as much of a problem as some other reviewers but it certainly added nothing to gameplay, was somewhat distracting. And maybe it's my personal computer settings but I had no trouble seeing the numbers nor did I find the grids too small. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the demo and was waiting for my 'free' game coupon to purchase. Not a game that I loved so much I couldn't wait to purchase but definitely one I'd use my coupon for -- or buy when there's a 2-for-1 sale. Beautiful colours, relaxing yet challenging enough gameplay. If you're a fan of nonograms, I recommend you give the demo a try. I like this one much better than the Fantasy (Penguin) series which I find too easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting Mosaic Game I liked the different colors and the ease of changing them. The puzzles are relatively logical. I don't like how small the grids are so much and the music is the same song repeating so turn off your sound. I skipped the initial story line as I don't see the need of one for a mosaic game but, so far, that was a minor thing at the beginning of the game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Would be 5 star if more contrast in colors I did the one hour preview. While everything else about the game is great, the background and tiles often have very little contrast so it is hard to tell the difference between a tile and the background. I made many mistakes because of the similarity of colors. While I love this kind of game, the lack of contrast made this game extremely frustrating and I did not buy it. Sometimes two or three tiles would be extremely similar to the background. Try the Rainbow Mosaic games -- lovely colors with good contrast.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It was okay, but not for me. I have been playing these types of puzzles since I first found them in puzzle books (paper and pencil!). Was glad to find PC versions. This game was okay, but not for me for the following 2 reasons: 1. As others have stated, the paintbrush attached to the cursor is very distracting, and I don't see what purpose it serves, other than a reminder of what colour you are currently playing).. I tried to change it out in the options menu ("Custom cursor on or off") but that didn't get rid of it. 2. Blank spaces are automatically filled in when you finish a column or row. I find that this feature should be optional, as is the crossing off of the numbers. In my opinion, it makes the game way too easy. For those two reasons, it is a no buy for me. I gave it a 3 rating because it has some features which other similar games do not have (power ups, bombs) that some people may like. Games in this genre which I like for the challenge: World Mosaics (1-8 and Chroma) Asian Riddles (1-4) As always... I suggest you try the demos before you buy. Happy Gaming Fishies!!
