Roman Adventure: Britons - Season One is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 190.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roads of Rome meets Adelantedo Absolutely excellent - and very welcome! Contains elements from both Roads of Rome and Adelantedo...the best elements! Just been replaying Adelantedo for the umpteenth time, so this game seems quite familiar. So much more than just a road clearing game, there are numerous and varied tasks to complete. Can't recommend it highly enough. All that's missing is Don Diego!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At last! A game that evokes the original Adelantado! The third game in the Adelantado series was so disappointing I thought we might not see game play like that again. Yet here we are with a new series that brings back that Adelantado flavor. My likes: the game has several difficulty levels so you can pace yourself accordingly; there are hidden things to find that require some real investigating (they aren't easily marked); and you can build your game layout the way you want to - you aren't forced to lay it out according to their blueprint. My only dislike is the dialogue screens are a bit hokey and the Roman general's head is too small for his body. The last item might seem petty but it's really noticeable. Other than that, It's great! I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adelantado AND Roads of Rome! They've combined two of my favorite games into one super game! Tons of fun and various difficulty levels. Parts are very familiar and other parts are new. Only complaint... it was over too soon! (Still well worth getting... and lots of play time in this.) I can't wait for Season Two!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hallelujah!!! A game like Adelantado at last!!!! I was skeptical when I bought this one but all my doubts were assuaged. This has a good story line and challenges like Adelantado Trilogy. You are not sure where you are going till you open up each area and then you need to meet targets to get to the next one. I am really enjoying this. It is the best Time Management game I have played for absolute ages. Thank you to the developers for giving us something that is not just about gathering resources

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roman Adventure Outsanding Time Management Game It's been a long time waiting for a truly great Time Management game. Roman Adventure: Britons - Season One is everything I love in a time management game. Great music. I believe I have heard this music before either in Adelanado Trilogy or Hero of the Kingdom I & II. These time management games are some of my favorites. The graphics and and wide spread scenes were stunning and so beautifully displayed. I like games with hidden treasures you have to find. Gives me an added challenge. I will be looking forward to Season Two. Thank you Big Fish and developers for an outstanding game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant! I think this is the first time I've written a review, but I love this game so much I had to! It's even better than Adelantado (which I loved). It gets more and more difficult, but having Save points is very helpful. I love the visuals, and also the way each level develops. My only complaint is it's far too short!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect game Finally, a really good TM game. Challenging and fun. I loved the Adelantado games, but this is much better. I play the relaxed mode first, then timed. Great fun, both!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this game; who knew the Celts were so interesting. Wish it were easier & I barely ever write a review, but wanted to let BFG know how much I appreciate this type of time management game. Please release more games like this. At the same time, this game is very difficult without the forums to aid in its completion. I have had to find advice elsewhere on how to find the caches in each level. I started with Normal mode, and then switched to Easy in an attempt to find all the hidden items. I made it to level 15 with expert rating. I then used the knowledge gained from easy mode to improve my normal mode, but I still only made it to level 9 achieving expert. I am guessing that this may be a game I play for weeks attempting to improve my score before finally giving up. I never even tried Hard mode (God forbid)... That said... the historic tidbits included have added to my interest also, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of challenge while orchestrating the movements of others!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Is A Great Game! Adelantado and Roads of Rome, shaken not stirred. Probably the best game I've played in a long time. Keep up the great work and bring us some more like this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've been hoping for this! This game is a version of the Book One, Two and Three of the Adelantado trilogy. I LOVE those games and have played them more times than I care to mention. This one is on the same level and I knew I HAD to buy it as soon as I saw the name Adelantado in the reviews. The only thing I do NOT like about this game is not being able to demolish a building unless it's abandoned. In the Trilogy, you can tear down a building any time you want. I'd do that and move a building to get more space if I needed it. One several levels so far in this game, I've had saw mills I don't need anymore and can't demolish them.....they just sit there taking up space. I hope they change this if they come out with a Collector's Edition or in the Season Two game. Other than that so far, I don't see much that needs changing. I'm glad the irritating cave men and dinosaurs are not in this one. I'm only on Level 14, but so far, so FUN!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sure did miss Adelantado! Excellent game and love the combination of Adelantado and Roads to Rome!! Since this is "Season One" hoping this means more to come :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ADELANTADO??? CLOSE ENOUGH....YAHOO!!! My goodness how happy was I when I saw this!! I had (sadly) accepted that Whiterra would never again furnish us with a game like Adelantado. I still play the three of them regularly. This is just wonderful and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. It has the elements that made Adelantado SO great. Good on you, Whiterra and thank you!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a successor to the Adelantado Trilogy! This is by the same developer who did both Adelantado and Roads of Rome. The art style is very much Roads but the game play is Adelantado. Wonderful! I've been waiting for them to do something like this. :) In the levels you need to keep developing your camp by adding hen houses, wood cutters, etc while expanding territory and getting rid of evil plants. There are secrets to find on each level to add to the fun. Each level takes a while (but so far not as long as in the Adelantado games). Since there there several difficulty levels you can set it to whatever you are comfortable with including not having it timed at all. Personally I like the challenge of a deadline but on this one it might be fun to go back and do Relax mode and just see how well I can develop each area. :) If you liked the Adelantado games, definitely check out this new one, you are in for a treat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! This is like a mix of Roads to Rome and Adelantado - since I love both and play both over and over, I am extremely happy with this release! If you love those game, you will not be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! I love TM games. You can play them over and over again - and - keep your mind sharp. THIS game is challenging, fun to play, and a quality game. It's a nice change (although a bit more difficult because of the size of the area you have to monitor), there are multiple goals at the same time. FUN! FUN! FUN!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this game! It's fun yet also relaxing This game is so much fun! To me, it's like a combination of Roads of Rome and Adelantado Trilogy (two of my most favorite pc games ever!). I highly recommend this game (I guarantee if you like time management games, you'll love this one)! It's definitely worth buying, trust me! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TERRIFIC GAME Finally! This is what TM/Strategy games are all about. Yes it can become difficult but that is where the strategy comes in. I loved that this game makes me think and plan (and at times tear my hair out) I have played it over many times now. Love it. Waiting anxiously for Season 2. A++

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Management & Strategy Game ! I love this developer and own all their games. This one is a mix of Adelantado and Roads of Rome and it's super fun ! The gameplay is great. You need to build and explore at the same time. Easy to learn with a good tutorial and a book of tips. Challenging with a relax, easy, normal and hard mode, this is a rare game that expert can enjoy. Some bonus caches to find for a gold ring on each level to achieve. Love the music and the graph. The story is super good for this kind of game. U learn many things about the Romans and the Britons. This is a "Must 2 Play". Enjoy every minutes of it. Happy Gaming (? ? ?) ?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dream came true! I have been wishing and hoping for this game and am so excited it finally came true. The Adelantado series is one of my most favorite games and have played them over and over again. This game is just as beautiful and so much fun to play. I am happy to see that during the level you can see if you have all the special caches by clicking on the icon on the top right. In Adelantado you have to wait and see at the end of the level to see if you got them all, if not you have to play the level again to find them all. (or check the walkthrough to see how many caches you need to find in each level) I hope there are many seasons to come in Roman Adventure, I usually play relaxed because I want to see and take in all the beautiful graphics. I will purchase them all! I am so excited!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS IS A TIME MANAGEMENT WORK OF ART, A MASTERPIECE..yes, it's that kind of game! You know you have an exceptional game on your hands when you are so engrossed in the gameplay that the sudden and abrupt demo ending takes you by surprise and has you scrambling to click the "buy now" icon. Roman Adventure is by the same developer who created some incredible Time Management game series in the past, Adelantado, and Roads of Rome. It has the same basic concept as Roads of Rome and Adelantado, but the graphics are some of the best I've ever seen in a TM game and has some of the most creative features ever offered. Whiterra deserves an award, this is a Time Management work of Art, a Masterpiece... Yes, Roman Adventure is that kind of game! The concept, although not a new one, is different than most Time Management games because the levels are continuations of the previous levels. As you progress, you will come across Save Altars which allows you to save your progress. If you don't complete the tasks within the allotted time frame, (you can opt to play in a Relaxed Mode as well as Easy, Normal and Hard modes) you will lose! You can replay the level in its entirety or return to your Save Point so you really want to save your progress, especially when the levels become harder to master. Note: you can only use the Save progress once per level. To be honest, I love the concept of continuing and progressing, but I'd really love to be able to access every level, in other words, be able to collect resources from the first level if you're on the third level, that would be an awesome concept! You will need to construct various buildings once you have collected the necessary resources, and you get to place the buildings where you want. This is a vital component because the placement often correlates to opening up new territory. There are the normal TM buildings and tasks such as Sawmills, Hen House Farms, Workers Houses, Bridges to repair, Weeds to remove, Manna to collect, Hidden Caches to find etc. but you won't be doing the normal "click all resources that are blocking your path" tasks. Guard Towers will unlock territories but may require completing various tasks first. Forts also unlock territories but they require a worker at all times. There are several Altars available such as Altar of Earth which contain useful artifact items, Altar of Water gives you water obviously, Altar of Fog will clear the fog and open new territories but they require a lot of resources. Worker's Houses are required in order to get new workers. Each House has a single worker, keep in mind that you must have a minimum of 4 workers or you won't be able to build other buildings. There are a lot of Strategies required to master this game, and eventually, you will need to make the right choices at the right time, so if you want a relaxing stress-free game you'll have to play in the Relaxed Mode, but even then I'm sure this game won't be a cake walk because you'll still need to place building correctly and go the correct ways, but I haven't tried playing this game in the Relaxed or Easy mode yet. I probably should have so that I could assess just how easy or relaxing the game would be for newbies or casual players. Don't pass this game up, it may surprise you, it's an extremely addicting game! Now I'm off to continue fighting those Roots of pure evil!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME!! An automatic buy for me! Adelantado is back but with just the workers. FUN, strategy, excellent time management...the way a TM game should be. Glad to see it's called Season One. That means there will be more! A lot of these other Dev's who keep changing classic games for the worse can learn something from these guys. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! HIGHLY recommend this! Thanks Big Fish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OUTSTANDING I LOVE this game. Only played for 30 minutes but it didn't take me that long to know it is a keeper. Reminds me of Adelantado and that's all I need!! THANKS BFG!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful--but quit nagging me! I'm fully in agreement with all the other great reviews; this is an addictive game and I'll probably buy Season Two as soon as I see it featured. Just one tiny moan--please, devs, stop the constant pointless on-screen messages about how you can demolish things and so on. They aren't necessary, and they drive me crazy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All kinds of awesome I don't normally review games, but this game is awesome. It's like the Adelantado series. So time management, but also some exploring. Some freedom of where to build things to make things interesting and more challenging. But still an order in which things need to be completed and a time goal to meet. Because of the exploring the levels are long, and there are save points along the way. There were 4 levels of play. I set it to expert and actually timed out on one level - that never happens. There's some hidden caches which are really tough to find. Great if you are into a challenge. Definitely one to buy - I've just pressed purchase myself and look forward to taking a long time to get through it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 'trilogy' lives on. This is a great build, gather and 'where to next ?' game. If you have ever played the Atelantado series you will recognise this game. It is just broken down into small chapters with a timer (or relaxed if you like) You must gather your resources, find hidden caches, build sawmills, fisheries, gold mines, quarries, and look after the needs of your workers, (and having enough of them to run your endevours by building enough houses, hiring wood and stone cutters etc) You are not limited in what you choose to build and where you place it mostly, only constrained by needing a particular building or resource to open up 'covered misted areas' and gold and granite mines have a designated spot. You will need to destroy evil roots using mana resources in order to have enough room to build and expand your civilisation. There are also evil creatures who attack your buildings, and you must click on them until they retreat to their lairs, and eventually when you collect enough mana..you can destroy and get rid of them. The skill is in the choices you make.. use the mana to destroy evil roots, thus expanding your 'territory' and building space, or use it to avoid such distractions? You may have to complete quests along the way to move forward past a character who wants 'find 5 gems' or 'find five mistletoe'.. and you will have to hope you have opened up the right territories (left or right) to find them. (perfectly ok in relaxed mode..but when the timer is ticking..) It is a fun and fabulous strategy meets TM game. I must admit that the challenge is strong. I had to revert to walkthrough to find 'all' the caches. I enjoyed the wonder of 'where to build' and 'what is behind the mist?.. foes or resources? Good value game.. enjoy!
