Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ending is Worth it all! BASED ON COMPLETED GAME AND 1/2 BONUS I loved the first two VW games. The last one was meh, but this one is awesome! I love a good story line and lots of puzzles. This game has both. If you like a good story with a twist at the end, then you'll like this game. The "good guys" and "bad guys" are all flip-flopped in this game. The main characters are twisted versions of classic fiction characters that you'll love to see. After the opening scenes of VW games you have the choice of which locations to investigate based on the clues that you find. So you, the player, control the order in which the story unfolds for you. (My advice: The Tower, The Estate, Then Gray's Manor.) As a plot-centered player I also like the "Last time on Vermillion Watch..." opening simply because this series is a bit cumulative and I like the reminder. Members of the VW introduced in previous games make an appearance to help out in certain places (you get to choose which member's help you want) and a major character from the last VW is also a main character in the bonus chapter. There are PLENTY of puzzles. A nice mix of different types in varying degrees of difficulty. Some are great, others not-so-great, depending on your puzzle preference. But there is something in here for everyone's taste.... I only tolerate HOs unless they're interactive or DP frogs. The HOs in this game are mostly junk piles, some silhouettes - meh. There are morphing objects in the HOs. Another thing in this game's favor is that there aren't any momentous eye-rolling moments. No ridiculous laps in logic that make you scream. (Well, maybe just one, lol.) No zippers to replace and not one well and bucket scenario! Excellent! On the down side, there IS some confusion. Like others, I used the hint button much more than I usually do, simply because I wasn't sure of what the developers were looking for. BUT I was playing with the blackbar tips off. Once I turned them back on I was fine. Of course, the artwork is gorgeous and the VO actors were great. There was only one really annoying voice in the bonus chapter. Collectibles are wolf paws that are fairly easy to find. The usual CE bling is there. I especially like the character book. The bonus chapter is a sequel that brings in characters from previous games to right a moral/social wrong that's left dangling in the main game. Animal lovers will like it. It's a good story, but it doesn't affect the main game which wraps up pretty well. It got a little tedious in the middle before I turned the black bar tips back on, but overall I enjoyed myself playing this game. I liked the challenge of figuring out things done differently and I loved the ending. Try the demo for yourself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Game! You just know if a game is going to be good and literally after only 5 mins of playing I knew it would be. It had interesting story, great graphics, voice overs, collectables, the works. This is definitely a buy! (Can I please say to any developers out there - please stop putting that silly intro: please turn on sound...that's a given and gee fishies every game has it. Drives me nuts!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Moreau calls it Lycanthropy Based on the Finished Game with Bonus Material. First off-There are 24 morphs in 24 Hops. I went and counted them. Not 22. Love the book with members, previous cases, associates and enemies. I have a book similar to this one from Order Zero (also in this series) The book from order zero doesn't have previous cases and has some different associates and enemies. This game is 5th in the series. I wanted to thank Eipix for the larger pictures in the guide. It makes it easier when trying to figure something out when you can see it better. This game has scenes that are so detailed they payed close attention to it and it shows. As always by this maker you can retrieve any collectible that you may have missed and also for the morphs. The souvenirs amount seems to be shrinking. The bonus chapter has the Nautilus and Nemo. I liked the story and game play. Found some puzzles I liked. The hops are what I play for and these I liked. Eipix also makes The Andersen Accounts, Phantasmat, Mystery Case Files, Amaranthine Voyage and Memoirs of Murder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes,yes, yes!! I too wonder about some of the lower reviews. I almost ( key word is almost!) didn't give this game a try because of them, but I'm smarter than that ( sometimes LOL). So I am in the trial and wow, this game is just fantastic! I'm enjoying it very much, especially the story line. This game plays like a great Sci-Fi, murder mystery, and horror film all rolled into one. So glad I took a chance and it's a definite buy for me. This is turning out to be one of the best series of games, and seeing a new one is such a treat! Thankyou!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Really Love This Series! I don't understand why the low ratings, but I am very entertained by this latest treat. Vermillion Watch is one of my big favorites! I love it for the good mysteries to solve which involve a different horror character that many of us know from old movies or stories. I have a crazy soft spot for werewolves. My love for animals is super-sized, I admit, even make-believe ones! The graphics and color are always excellent, and the scenery offers lots of detail and things that grab my interest. The games and HOPs lots of fun, but the HOPs are pretty simple. Usually, interested mosly in bonus chapter and SG. I like the extras in CE games but not a must-have. Love the storyline and the dev's interpretation of the culprits in each case. All the characters are very "colorful", adding more fun to the story and the voices are done very well. This game kept me very busy so far. Anxious for bonus chapter, but I just take my time and enjoy the adventure. I do hope you try the demo and at least give it a chance. Would love to see more 5 star ratings. God Bless....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A (Ver)million Ton(s) of Fun Finished! Took me a very long time, well, not even a million seconds. I enjoyed every single one! More than impressed with "London Howling". To be honest, when I played the beta my enthusiasm remained rather limited. Werewolves in London? How original ?! I’m more than glad to have given the game a chance. It turned out to be super brilliant! I couldn’t stop playing. And when I did and had a snooze, I dreamed about it. The game is very intense. You play a mini-game and jump into the next one, you open a new location and get, not only one but a handful of tasks. You think you can trust someone, you soon learn this is not really so. But thankfully you are part of the Vermillion Watch and can rely on the help of allies and specialists. The story starts with a shock! From now on you have to live with new powers and have to learn to control your anger. As the character I played I had to focus and check my impatience. The mini-games are well designed, very much in line with the story, a ton of fun, some quite challenging. As patching up a shroud. You don’t get six pieces and a template that helps you assembling it. You have to think! Most of them are self-explaining, I hardly ever looked at the instructions. The HO’s are a myriad of almost everything known in the HOPA world: word lists, outlines, spot the difference, find several items of the same kind. And you have to find items you hardly ever get in games, as „Sleeping Girl“. Some HO’s consist of several parts. Scenes are never repeated and you have a morphing object in them. It took me quite some time to find them, great chance to relax. My favourite HOs is the one where you have to feed the lemurs, so well done! The main game ends satisfactorily. In the Bonus Chapter you get a new story that picks up motifs from the main game. No loss of pace and quality, no slumps at all. One minor flaw: I usually toggle the pop-ups which is a feature I love. Here the pop-ups kept popping up, but this was no damp in the overall impression. Collectibles are pretty easy to spot. I still had to pick up some later on, as I simply forgot about them, being so immersed in the scenes. Graphics, music and sound are superb! To take in all the details I will have to play the game again and again. I love looking at scenes, items, paintings and wondering where do I know this from? As the instrument shown in the screen „Please play with sound“. It reminded me of a Kora, a harp used in West Africa. You’ll find the connection Victorian London - Africa pretty soon!
