Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes,yes, yes!! I too wonder about some of the lower reviews. I almost ( key word is almost!) didn't give this game a try because of them, but I'm smarter than that ( sometimes LOL). So I am in the trial and wow, this game is just fantastic! I'm enjoying it very much, especially the story line. This game plays like a great Sci-Fi, murder mystery, and horror film all rolled into one. So glad I took a chance and it's a definite buy for me. This is turning out to be one of the best series of games, and seeing a new one is such a treat! Thankyou!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Really Love This Series! I don't understand why the low ratings, but I am very entertained by this latest treat. Vermillion Watch is one of my big favorites! I love it for the good mysteries to solve which involve a different horror character that many of us know from old movies or stories. I have a crazy soft spot for werewolves. My love for animals is super-sized, I admit, even make-believe ones! The graphics and color are always excellent, and the scenery offers lots of detail and things that grab my interest. The games and HOPs lots of fun, but the HOPs are pretty simple. Usually, interested mosly in bonus chapter and SG. I like the extras in CE games but not a must-have. Love the storyline and the dev's interpretation of the culprits in each case. All the characters are very "colorful", adding more fun to the story and the voices are done very well. This game kept me very busy so far. Anxious for bonus chapter, but I just take my time and enjoy the adventure. I do hope you try the demo and at least give it a chance. Would love to see more 5 star ratings. God Bless....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A (Ver)million Ton(s) of Fun Finished! Took me a very long time, well, not even a million seconds. I enjoyed every single one! More than impressed with "London Howling". To be honest, when I played the beta my enthusiasm remained rather limited. Werewolves in London? How original ?! I’m more than glad to have given the game a chance. It turned out to be super brilliant! I couldn’t stop playing. And when I did and had a snooze, I dreamed about it. The game is very intense. You play a mini-game and jump into the next one, you open a new location and get, not only one but a handful of tasks. You think you can trust someone, you soon learn this is not really so. But thankfully you are part of the Vermillion Watch and can rely on the help of allies and specialists. The story starts with a shock! From now on you have to live with new powers and have to learn to control your anger. As the character I played I had to focus and check my impatience. The mini-games are well designed, very much in line with the story, a ton of fun, some quite challenging. As patching up a shroud. You don’t get six pieces and a template that helps you assembling it. You have to think! Most of them are self-explaining, I hardly ever looked at the instructions. The HO’s are a myriad of almost everything known in the HOPA world: word lists, outlines, spot the difference, find several items of the same kind. And you have to find items you hardly ever get in games, as „Sleeping Girl“. Some HO’s consist of several parts. Scenes are never repeated and you have a morphing object in them. It took me quite some time to find them, great chance to relax. My favourite HOs is the one where you have to feed the lemurs, so well done! The main game ends satisfactorily. In the Bonus Chapter you get a new story that picks up motifs from the main game. No loss of pace and quality, no slumps at all. One minor flaw: I usually toggle the pop-ups which is a feature I love. Here the pop-ups kept popping up, but this was no damp in the overall impression. Collectibles are pretty easy to spot. I still had to pick up some later on, as I simply forgot about them, being so immersed in the scenes. Graphics, music and sound are superb! To take in all the details I will have to play the game again and again. I love looking at scenes, items, paintings and wondering where do I know this from? As the instrument shown in the screen „Please play with sound“. It reminded me of a Kora, a harp used in West Africa. You’ll find the connection Victorian London - Africa pretty soon!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this series! Unlike the previous reviews, I loved this game. It may not be challenging enough for some, but it was great for me. I particularly enjoy that you can go back and look for collectibles that you may have missed while playing the game. I have enjoyed all the games in this series and know I will be purchasing the newest addition (which I did)!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dogs, dogs, and more dogs! Hello, friends! As usual, I mostly review on the game play and leave the story line to others who do a much better job than I. Looks like this one is #5 in this series. I miscounted on the one we had last time. Again, game has excellent graphics, very clear, with very nice colors. It's always nice to have a game that does not have blurry graphics. This one had none during the demo, even in close up scenes. Game play was excellent, I found no glitches or lag time between scenes. Animation was excellent, with realistic eye movements with every character in the scene at the time. Excellent voice overs, very well done and dialog can be clicked through if you read faster than they speak. They are age and character appropriate, and showed emotion, not just reading through a script. We don't seem to have quite as much character interaction, but hopefully that picks up as the game progresses. The music was well done, when we had it. Sound FX are very well done, as usual, and pretty much throughout. HOPs are a combination of interactive lists and silhouettes. The scenes are clear and items are not difficult to find. I did not see that you could switch to something else if you didn't care for the HOPs. There are morphing items in the HOPs. These are not that easy to spot as you may think. I was pleasantly surprised at how challenging most of the puzzles were. I found that I couldn't just walk through them and had to use some brain power to complete them. Very well done. Hint system is helpful and it does transport to longer locations. Yes, we have a jump map, but it is quite boring and not really needed since we have the transport feature. The collectibles were somewhat disappointing. All I found were 34 very large "dog" paws. These practically jumped off the page at you. Definitely can't miss them. Give us morphing items in the HOPs just wasn't enough. Would have been nice to have them in the regular scenes as well. We start off with a brief overview of the previous game in the series each time, which gives you an insight into what is happening and why. It is that time of year again, so we will be seeing more werewolves, vampires, mummies and the like in our games. This story is nothing new, but it is full of action. Pulled me in from the very beginning and left me wanting more when the demo ended. I really like this series, and this addition is no exception. Naturally, I have them all. This game had enough challenge to keep me interested. The only reason I did not give this one 5 stars, is because I felt the collectibles needed something more. Everything else about this game makes it worth a 4.75. I think all levels of players will find this one interesting, fun and challenging, especially if you are into werewolves. Yes, I am going to add it to my collection. As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews. Play on!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IS IT SAFE TO TRADE IN THURSDAY'S GARLIC FOR SILVER BULLETS? Phileas Fogg has been acting rather odd lately (could also use a good shave) Young Hawkes who will probably never be called Old Hawkes, has his hands full with this investigation, full of claws and fur like a beast that is! The streets of London may never be safe again if the protectors known as the Vermillion Watch are the ones the city need protecting from. The streets are definitely Howling tonight, and hopefully, the beast inside Hawkes and Fogg don't take up permanent residents or there may never be a Vermillion Watch 6! Spine-tingling is not the description I'd use to describe this game, but it's really not a bad game, it's just an easy game. I purchased this game, I've played nearly all of the game, and its captured my attention as far as the plot goes, which doesn't happen that often nowadays, and usually not from this dev! If you enjoyed other Vermillion Watch games, then there's no reason you won't enjoy this game unless werewolves just aren't your thing. Personally, I love a good Vampire storyline and Werewolves ain't so bad either, well, they are bad, but it's a great topic! The Hidden Object Scenes are good but quite easy. I did like the scene locations which were colorful, and you can tell the devs worked to create HOP's that were different, but at the expense of being challenging, does that make sense? There are Interactive List finds, Keywords in Sentence finds, Multiple Object finds and even a "Spot the Difference" between a photo and the actual scene which definitely could have been a little more challenging. In this Collector's Edition version each HOS has a Morphing Object, and if you forget to look (like I usually do) you can replay the scene in the extra's section to not only pick up the missed Morph but earn Gold, Silver or Bronze Trophies. After completing the game (including Bonus Chapter) you can enter the Souvenir Room to search for 12 different Wolf puppies as Souvenirs (the awe factor lol) Hope you like mini-games because there are back to back throughout the game. Personally, I didn't find them all that bad although I found them to be quite easily solved on the first attempt. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo: 1-Drag the slider to locate paw prints. (turns green) 2-Slide magnifier to focus each of those paw prints. 3-Drag, align & scale paw print on the correct match. 4-Drag fist through a maze to the face, collecting all orbs first. 5-Use directional arrows to cross the road & avoid obstacles. 6-Use directional arrows to jump on floating debris w/ sinking. 7-Use torch when wolves' ears are down whistle when up. 8-Select buttons in the correct order according to clues. 9-Cut neurons paths to stop the red sphere from reaching neurons x3. 10-Drag the correctly shaped glass shards to matching slots. 11-Select 3 glass shards until all are removed (colored shards only 2) 12-Turn all valves to the right, selecting one affects others. 13-Box in groups of 4 powder heaps on the grid. 14-Ask both parrots all questions and then deduce which bird lies. This Collector's Edition version has 9 Wallpapers, 6 Concept Art pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 7 Movie Video Cutscenes, 24 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 35 re-playable Mini-Games, 15 Achievements to earn, 34 Collectible Hidden Paw Prints, 22 Morphing Objects within the Hidden Object Scenes, 12 Souvenirs within the Souvenir Room, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why all the low scores? I like all the Vermillion Watch games! They always seem to come up with doing old puzzles in a new way. Plus, I like all the old school horrors (vampires, witches, ghosts, werewolves, etc.) The graphics are always good as is the story line. Try the demo, judge for yourself.
