The Far Kingdoms: Hidden Magic is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great game I really enjoyed this game. The items were not too hard to find and you get plenty of power-ups to find those that are really well hidden. The mini games are pretty simple but fun. Overall the gameplay is great. This is a simple HOG. No dark gloomy places, no inventory, no confusion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised Only 1 Review So Far? Quaint game, great sounds, sharp graphics, not too much trouble finding the hidden guys, a few are a tad tricky, hence zoom-in very handy. Very smooth playing on my brand new Gamer Lap-Top. Great game for those of us that don't have time to sit for hours at a computer playing, but just want something to play that's not too taxing. Lastly, bought the game and that's #2 2 days running, keep them coming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Far Kingdoms Saves The Day Once again Far Kingdoms has rescued me from the "boring game blues" and I purchased this game without a moment's hesitation. Such a breath of fresh air, after all the games that are filled with darkness and psychos and neon colors, etc. So, here is another Far Kingdoms goodie with a nice variety of games and HOs, and a good little storyline to add extra interest. I like the mini games which you can play after each set of hidden objects are found. They become more difficult as the game progresses, which I enjoy, and they can be replayed. There are timed and untimed play modes and the hints are available a little differently, fireflies even help you out, but you have to buy them. A bunch of avatars from which to choose, but I fail to see their purpose, unless I overlooked something. The amount of challenge is just right, sound is easy on the nerves. The graphics and colors are very good, the game ran with no stalling or other common nuisances. I love Far Kingdoms games and am happy to add this one to my collection, I own them all and I play them often. They have great replay value and I have never regretted purchasing. Far Kingdoms devs, IMO, know how to make great entertainment, just good clean fun that doesn't have age restrictions or "iffy" subject matter. Maybe some day they will surprise us with a big set of wonderful jigsaw puzzles. That would be awesome!!! I'm adding to the top of my BF Wish List. Thanks for the fun! God Bless....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HIDDEN OBJECT MAGIC Purchased Game (approximately 2 Hours so far) This is an old-fashioned Hidden Object Game (HOG) and a good one at that. I knew within 10 minutes that I was going to buy Hidden Magic, The Far Kingdoms are definitely better as Solitaire or Hidden Object games, and this one has a great variety of Hidden Object Scenes and mini-games, as well as an interesting storyline. You can choose from 20 different realistic Avatars of Elven Princesses and Princes, but I'm not really sure why because they aren't really shown after you choose them. You can play in an Untimed Mode or a Timed Mode which gives you 3 Minutes to complete each scene, which is actually plenty of time (I had time remaining after each level) Each time you replay a level, the objects to find are different, and they vary as Listed Items or Silhouetted Shapes, so there's a good replay value. There are unlimited Hints available but you only start out with 4 freebies that are instant hints, after those are used you have to wait for the Hint to recharge before using them again. The turtorial doesn't really explain any of the features, I had to use them all up just to access the Shop to see what was offered. There is a Jar of Fireflies that will find 3 Items in the location, you can purchase packages of 1,5, or 10 in the shop. The Lantern feature can be used during the Dark Scenes to light the entire scene for 1 minute, and the Timer feature will add 30 seconds to the timer if you are playing in the Timed Mode. After playing a set of HO levels (finding all items to meet the level objections) you get to play a Mini-game that progress in difficulty (they are very easy and small at first) such as a Match 3 game, Mahjong, or Card Matching Pairs Games where you flip over 2 cards at a time to find all matching cards. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relaxing and pretty to play This is a relaxing and pretty game, and the music is soothing. Great for after work or before bed. Your avatar, after you choose it, sits up in the corner and looks nice. I hope to find the shop at some point, as I deducted a star for not being able to find it in an hour of playing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kid's Game I rated this higher than normal for this type of game, because it is obviously made for kids. Was I bored? Yes. Would my niece have been bored? No. This is a basic HO game. Instructions were simple & clear. Music & sound effects were pleasant. It has the ability to enlarge the scene, which is good. The objects are not in the same direction, as in most HO games. No penalties. Some variety in the puzzles. I didn't have to hunt for where to go next in the game, which is a plus for a lot of games! The only thing I couldn't figure out, was how to spend the gold coins I was earning. In hindsight, I probably could have clicked on one of the "aids."

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Grab your glasses I was hoping to love this game but the clutter and graphics aren't the best. Even using the zoom didn't help. Setting objects in front of objects of the same color has never made me happy. And making the objects so small that the zoom doesn't even help is aggravating too. And having to wait a whole minute to use a hint wastes my time. It's going to take me a while to finish this game because I'll be playing other games that peak my interest more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from And why exactly are there wolves howling in the village square? This is a very basic game. Does not necessarily have to be a bad thing, but it is not very exciting either. You just have to go from one location to another, prompted to do so by characters that will pop up on the screen at the end of each level, and find a series of nonsense objects in said location. After you have found them all (like, say, a coffee pot, a pinecone and a unicorn figurine) the character will thank you for being instrumental in advancing some nonsense investigation about the king being dead, because you actually revealed a poison, or other useful piece of information.... ehm.... ok! But... the scenes are extremely beautiful, hidden items are clear but not in plain sight... so, if you just want to relax looking for tiny objects in beautiful locations with young family and friends... well, why not? There are even boosts if you find yourself in trouble (I used a few because there is so much time I 'like' to spend staring at beautiful scenery), and they are a hint that will automatically recharge given a little time, a lantern full of fireflies that will find 3 objects for you, a clock that gives you extra time if you are playing in timed mode and a lantern that will light up dark scenes and that I found completely useless, as you may still find the objects you are looking for even in the mid shade of said scenes. Boosts will be available to buy with the coins you gather finding objects, and they come so cheap that you could play just using them and not even making an effort at looking for pieces. Beautiful scenes come with nice and appropriate sounds and music... so it was all the more funny that the main sound you can hear in the village square was incessant wolf howling..... ugh!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from HAVE PLAYED BETTER Loved the previous Far Kingdom games so jumped on this and wish I had waited for more reviews. I don't find any particular enjoyment here. Many HOS scenes varying between silhouettes, items in the dark where you can purchase firefly lights or magnifying glasses power-up which will remove three of the objects etc etc. Items even when in a well-lit screen are hard to find to the point of going blind looking and don't really see the purpose of the game other than eventually same scenes over and over again. May get a little more fun as I get further into this but as for now rather bored.
