Viking Brothers VI Collector's Edition is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its another winner! My first thought when I saw the screenshots was please don't let this be boring or repetitive. Its not. Yes it is a gather resources game, and yes it is well into the series numbers, but after playing for quite a long time I am impressed that so far not on one single level have my tasks or the features involved been the same! The bonuses (run fast, production etc) appear early which is nice, but the miriad of new features here will keep you scurrying. There is a wolf that stops you collecting until you destroy his lair, and he keeps coming back till that is done. There are areas that are blacked out so you dont know what's behing them until you light the torches. (just once I lit the wrong one first and had to repeat as the building I needed was behind that one) There is a very in depth strategy guide both visual and verbal. And there is a also a new feature of collectable owls. This is possibly the only thing I think could have been done better. They are not marked on the map as being collected, or where they are. The only way you will know if you missed one is checking your board and if one is blank between those collected..you missed one! There is the tavern game, a mahjong game with rune symbols, and as I move through I am now coming across other familiar features like dropping the barricade stacks by standing on the rune symbol. There are many familiar features as well as the new ones, but in this game they just have so many to choose from you will not get bored. There are 65 levels. Its classic Viking Bros, but they have done a great job of mixing up the tasks and adding new ones. I am only hoping that still to come will be some of the wonderful graphic creatures we were treated to in the last one. I am loving it, but try the demo. It has all the CE bells and whistles, but perhaps the only one I will be that interested in will be having the strategy guide. (haven't peeped yet though lol) There is a relaxed mode too. Enjoy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh-oh... I thought the Brothers were done with CEs! Review based on trial period only. I was happy playing the 1st 5 games, even more so when editions 1,2,4 and 5 were released only as "standard editions"; VIKING BROTHERS 6 is now being released as a CE (like #3 was), and I struggle having to pay double if I don't get double the levels. The availability of a walkthrough helps a bit in tipping the scales. The graphics are great, and I love the winter setting... making the tasks more "original" than the generic gather/clear/build games. I would prefer better contrast between the red and black numbers when looking at the required resources when hovering over an assignment... but that's just me. Having the workers slowed down depending on the weather is also a nice twist in gameplay. I didn't get very far in the trial, but if his release is like the earlier ones, things will get tricky/strategic before reaching level 10. I will be buying this great TM game, but will wait for the SE (hoping there will be one!) so I can compare features before making my decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Fun then Ever Good as ever. All levels winnable . New musical scores. New feature- owl easter eggs to find. Just lacks description of features in tutorial. Added new musical scores that you can save.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this series! I was excited to see the next game in the series come out. I bought the CE right away. I started the game in casual mode but after a few levels started over in expert mode. I don't know if it was just me or if the game was way to easy. I love the type of game when you are getting to the end of the level and find out there are more things you should have done and kept collecting for. I didn't find that in this game until level 63. It is a great game but not much of a challenge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute As Ever Based on demo. As with other games by this developer, VB6 now has the Unity game engine which, as demonstrated by such games as Rescue Team, can result in a drastic change in the look and feel of it. Rest assured: it's not majorly different here. The same cute characters, all with different abilities, have a new adventure to undertake, starting with a very frozen world. Graphics are richly detailed and colorful, for the most part. Gameplay and sound fx are nice and familiar. I would have liked to change the game parameters like shutting the music off before launching a level, but at least you can skip the dialogs or click thru. You can chain tasks if all clear and undo a task with a left-click, even when a worker is heading to it. Decent resource management game, nothing wildly innovative. One thing: as with many games by this dev., background animations are charming: butterflies, bunnies, water rippling and the hedgehog with the apple on its back. This shows respect to the players and I appreciate that. 45 levels in the main game plus a bonus chapter. Three game modes and hard mode gets tuff early. I'll be good with the SE this time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Strategy-Based Game But I Don't Like Frozen Tundra...Brrrr,,, A Time Management fan can always count on Viking Brothers to be a top-notched, strategy-based game that's fun to play. They always add new features to keep them interesting and new, to us original diehard fans, which keep us coming back for more. I hate cold weather, I'd rather be sweating in a 100° climate than freezing during a "great white death snowstorm" and since Winter Is Coming, I just wasn't crazy about the theme of this episode where everything is frozen and everything needs to be chopped out of iceblocks, however, the game itself is excellent. There are 50 levels +15 CE Bonus Levels that can be played in a Casual untimed mode, Normal or Expert modes of difficulty and there are 44 Achievement awards to earn. When you earn an award a pop up appears on the bottom left of the screen just long enough to read it, without being obtrusive or slowing down progress. There is a Star meter on the top right to help you keep tabs on getting close to losing a precious star. You can earn up to 3 Stars per level, and the only complaint I have with this game is that once again, after finishing the level, there are no dancing characters, and, there's a brief lag between finishing the level and receiving the Score pop-up. Several times I found myself panicking, wondering if I had missed fulfilling a level goal because the characters were just casually walking around as if I still had to point them in the right direction to finish a task. The Magic Chests have returned that allows you to choose which resource you want, such as Wood, Stone, or Food. You'll still have the usual goals of building and upgrading Sawmills, Quarries, Farms, and Gold Mines, repairing Ladders and Bridges made of various materials. Because the brothers are shipwrecked on Queen Elsa's Frozen island, you'll need to build fires to keep resources from freezing into a block of ice, chase away starving Snow Wolves, or build Igloos to keep warm. As you progress, you will also be able to use the Bonus Icon to add workers, make the Workers move faster, earn more money, extra resources etc. VIKING BROTHERS SERIES LIST Title***Release Date***Average Rating 1-Viking Brothers 1 SE (April 12-2013) 3.9 2-Viking Brothers 2 SE (March 22-2017) 3.6 3-Viking Brothers 3 CE (December 26-2017) 3.8 3-Viking Brothers 3 SE (January 17-2018) 4.4 4-Viking Brothers 4 SE (May 30-2018) 4.5 5-Viking Brothers 5 SE (November 19-2018) 4.3 6-Viking Brothers 6 CE (October 29-2019) n/a by: Yustas Game Studio

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Why the CE? It's the same cookie cutter TM game over and over...run, pound and collect. It looks like all they did was slap a new name on it. What makes this a CE is beyond me. It's just a repeat of the game before. I quit after the trial. It moves SOOO slow! The men drag their feet in between tasks and move like mud. If you like running around and gathering stuff with no challenge, this is for you.
