Rated 5 out of 5 by from TREAT YOURSELF TO AN ENTERTAINING NEW CADENZA AS YOU JOIN VELVET WHISPER ON THEIR REUNION TOUR Jump into a game that will take you back in time as the 60s rock band Velvet Whisper reunites after a twenty-year split. I found myself enjoying this trip back in time with the band as I played the very good HOPS. Thankfully, this developer got it right and didn’t include nearly as many puzzles in the mix. Maybe this is the reason those "nothing but puzzles" lovers didn't think the game was great.. The puzzles were entertaining and not overly difficult, and it didn’t seem as if they were thrown into the game as time fillers. Of course, I play HOPA games for the HOS and not the puzzles that in recent years have replaced many of the excellent HOS we once found in the genre. The HOPS are creative and enjoyable to play with most of them being the more traditional list type although there is some variety in style. The items are cleverly hidden and I did end up using the hint button to find some items in the piano because I couldn’t figure out where they were hiding – lol. Yes, some might think that the puzzles were too easy but I happen to enjoy being able to actually complete a puzzle without too much brain drain. One of my favorite puzzles was the one where we needed to align different colored bits to recreate the pattern provided. That puzzle took a bit of time but it was fun to figure it out. The storyline is very good and it didn’t seem overly confusing. The story opens up as we play through the various scenes and begin to realize what is happening and why Velvet Whisper has been “invited” to the Evergreen Hotel. Some might find the game to be short but for me it seemed just about average game time. Of course, I play slowly and have to take in every detail in each scene and always need to find all of the collectibles and morphing objects. I love that this developer provides so many morphing objects and not all of them are easy to find. Maybe if I raced through a game without looking for the collectibles and morphs then the game would seem much shorter than it really is. The Cadenza series of games have been hit or miss over the years but I happen to really like this game. Perhaps it is the throwback to the 60s music theme that made the game more enjoyable but I found the gameplay overall to be a lot of fun. I purchased the game and am very happy that The Following has everything that I enjoy the most in HOPA games. Although the game was a purchase for me, please try the demo to see if it is one that you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favorites!! Loved it, loved it, loved it! Lots of fun puzzles, easy to play and good story line with no intricate hidden object games. Loved the music as well. I even, for the first time since I have been playing these games, downloaded a couple of the tracks from this game. Looking forward to playing more Cadenza games!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK Game. Not a CE OK Game. Not a CE, glad I opted out of purchasing the CE and used a coupon to purchase this edition. This is the worst in the series but still OK. Game is quite short. HOP's are moderately difficult with no nice twists and puzzles are easy to medium difficulty. Mamas and Papas soundtrack would have been nice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from too short Played entire game in under 3 hours. Much too short. HOP objects are very easy to find. Won't even try the other games in series.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from LOOKS LIKE IT DIDN'T HAVE MUCH OF A FOLLOWING Completed Game just under 3 hours (including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter) ?~20 Scene Locations +7 scenes in the CE Bonus Chapter~? The famous rock band, Velvet Whisper, has agreed to set their difference aside for one last Rock-reunion performance...just Roll with it?! (can't take that name seriously, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Jimi Hendrix, or The Red Hot Chili Peppers are rock bands, Velvet Whisper sounds like a Romance Novel or the owner of a Horse named Velvet, or the name of a new cake recipe...) Their music is legendary, and it also has ghostbusting potential because, for some unknown and unexplained reason, it drives away the evil paranormal fog. What is the significance of the fog? Where did the fog come from? Why does the fog hate this particular music, you may ask? I don't know! (never mind, for a moment I forgot that we were talking about The Velvet Whisper Band's music bwahahaha) How did this orphan girl get paranormal powers? I don't know! If she's a living, breathing human, (which is made quite clear in the story) why does she have a ghostly apparition, don't you have to be dead to haunt? Where did the muse come from? Why is she trapped like a genie in a bottle? Why did MHG make young Grace look so creepy as a kid? Why did MHG decide to ruin the Cadenza series that began with an amazing N'Awlins experience at the famous Jazz Pepper Club during Mardi Gras? So many questions I have, such a disappointment. MHG needs to take a few hours to replay Music, Betrayal, and Death so they can see where they went so horribly wrong! There are 14 HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES +4 in the CE Bonus Chapter and 2 Zoom Zone Silhouetted Shape HO's that are mostly ho-hum Interactive List Finds located in uninteresting places. There are also Multiples of the same Item Finds, Finding & Replacing Items, Progressive-Interactive Finds, and Silhouetted Shape Finds, In this CE version, each Hidden Object Scene has a very easy to spot Morphing Object. Any missed HOP Morph can be picked up by replaying the HOP's in the CE Extra's section. There are only 11 MINI-GAMES +2 in the CE Bonus Chapter. These are basic, bare-bones puzzle that truly lacks creativity. Below are brief descriptions of some of the less-lame puzzles offered: ?-Swap tiles or move rows left or right to recreate the pattern shown. ?-Choose 4 partial symbols to recreate the symbol shown. ?-Rotate tiles to complete the railroad tracks and then select directional arrows to move the train from point A to B ?-Connect identical colored dots by drawing a line that doesn't intersect another color line. The CE BONUS CHAPTER takes place a year later playing as Lisa Ames the lead guitarist from Velvet Whisper. When Lisa's granddaughter Angel is kidnapped from the recording studio during her first solo, Grandma Lisa hunts them down to make them regret the day they were born! There are 7 Scene Locations During this average-length chapter, but there are only 2 Mini-Games and 4 Hidden Object Scenes?? You will pick up the remaining 7 MHG Spirals, 7 Scene Morphs, and 4 Hidden Object Morphs. After completing the Bonus Chapter you can return to all of the scenes to pick up 27 Musical Treasures. The COLLECTOR'S EDITION version Extra's has 11 Wallpapers, 11 Concept Art Pictures (with Before/After Slider Bar) 10 Music Soundtracks, 17 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 10 Achievements (5 are available in 3 categories) 27 Scene Location Morphing Objects (the SC erroneously omits the morph @E but the scene does have a Spiral & a Morph) 17 Hidden Object Scene Morphs (missed HOP morphs can be picked up in the replayable HO extras) 27 Mad Head Games Spirals, 27 Musical Treasures (return to all 27 scene locations to find instruments) 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love / Hate relationship with this game. I really enjoyed the game. I loved that it was in modernish times, liked all the hidden object puzzles. The storyline was ok, music was pretty good but the length of the game is shameful!! I would have given the game 4 or 5 stars but I just purchased the game and hour and a half ago, stopped playing to get something to eat, came back and started playing again and poof the game was over! I got less than an hour total game play. This is UNACCEPTABLE! No, I don't recommend the game because you will get ripped off. Money is too darn tight to get so little for our money! I have to say I don't think I've been this angry in a long time. I really want my money back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful This has got to be one of the worst games I've ever attempted to play on BFG. I loved the first two games in this series but it's been downhill since then. The lead character VO is like fingers down a chalkboard it's so badly done. (Hey, BFG, how about a few professional voice actors for a change?) The graphics look like a cartoon episode. But the worst part is one of the most contrived and ridiculous storylines ever. I used a free coupon to get the game but I didn't last 20 mins before I uninstalled it. To say that I don't recommend it, is an understatement.
