12 Labours of Hercules XI: Painted Adventure Collector's Edition is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenge is good in this one. One sweet new feature. Well it's an old fave as far as gather resource games go. I did find the level of challenge was ramped up quite quickly in this one, but that's just how I like it. There are underground vaults to visit, buildings to upgrade, heroes to free so they can help and plenty of the action we are used to. You can play in relaxed, timed and expert, but the good thing is you can toggle between them without losing game progress. The new feature, (and it seems the only one) is Emma the painter who can paint a needed resource if she can be freed to reach her canvas. It did seem that fairly quickly that became the task, just reaching it rather than the painting she did. There are the usual puzzle pieces (general vicinity marked with a flag) but you will have to remove pieces of the interactive scenery (sheep, bushes etc) to find them most times. (this is a cute feature). You can just go back and get them and leave then and they will show on the map if you miss one. Your choices are good in the options, disable screen shaking, use system cursor and not to show tutorial. (this is a good choice as it is just blue arrows and you can turn it back at anytime on the screen you are playing, and another click will stop them). I was also a bit disconcerted that it knew who I was without asking me to put in my profile name although I have no other downloads still on my hard drive. Hmmm. But all in all it is a great game with the now familiar speed and resource buttons scattered about and a need to apply strategy for sure. I dont think the game offers much extra as a CE..just wallpapers, and just arrows as the strategy guide, but I just never can wait to get hold of a quality TM. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Cutest Games My favorite game of Hercules series is the 8th, i.e. “How I Met Megara” with young Herc, lots of cats, humor, mummies and beautiful love story. But this new game probably will be my top-2, or even top-1 (I didn’t finish 2 last chapters yet)! Emma is cute, and her super power to paint reality is superb! I also like this new music melody differing from previous games as well as puzzle pieces under other objects (this time not only under bushes, but also under sheep and goats we have to launch to space). The gameplay is well-known to all the fans of this series. We clear the roads, build the buildings, chop the trees and wooden columns, collect resources and different bonus pills (as in the previous game). Hercules moves the boulders and other heavy objects, Megara grows the bushes, and the Worker makes everything else. New features are two new characters: Emma drawing everything we need to move further, and Achilles beating the guard dolls. Achilles is pretty funny, and Emma is cute. I like them. We can play Relaxed, Casual or Expert mode, earn achievements and beat the records as well as unlock the bonus levels (after collecting puzzle pieces and completing the jigsaw) and build the paper castle. The levels are various, colorful and unique. Lots of them involve great deal of strategy thinking to beat developer’s score. Collector’s Edition includes wallpapers, guide (blue arrows which you can turn on or turn off whenever you need), and extra chapter about Hercules’ adventures to enjoy this game longer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love love love This one is one of my favourite TM series. I have so much fun to play all of them all over again. This episode is just as good as the previous ones. Especially love the music and the graphic. Keep up the good work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For me, it's a winner ! (Please excuse my bad english) I love this series, because this developper is one of the last ones who makes us think ! This new episode didn't disappoint me. My pleasure, when playing this series, is to beat the developper records. (So I played in expert mode) I beat all of the records, but I really had to use my brain and to replay some of the levels many times to beat the record. It is exactly what I was looking for so I was very happy with this game. For me, it is one of the best of the Hercule's series. The graphics are very good, and it was funny to search the collectibles. Just one thing : I agree with some of the other reviews : the strategy guide is useless and frustrating. I don't need it, but if I were a beginner, I would have been very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Challenging Hercules Game Much like the last version in graphics and feature and music. The only thing different is there are no easter eggs in the bonus games per level. You just have the hidden puzzle pieces for the picture in each island section to assemble. The pieces can be hidden under bushes or other things. You can play in untimed casual for all levels including bonus levels. However you won't get to assemble the picture paper castle unless you in timed mode. I completed each timed level and some were nail bitters. The guide is now in an interactive mode where you have to follow the arrows on where to go next. This can be cumbersome as it sometimes is hard to follow the arrowed steps. I just got a hint and ad-libbed on some hard levels. It can get confusing on some levels.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good game but is it CE worthy? The first strange thing was this game knew whom I was and started at level 1.4 yet I have never played this game before .No problem as you can replay the levels which I wanted to do . Never had something like that happen before. Well I suppose it is Halloween soon. What I do not like about these games is the poor strategy guide which once again is the dreaded blue arrows. How I would love a proper strategy guide. I like the new paint feature but that seems to be the only new thing . I do enjoy these games but yet again not sure what extras you get for a CE until you complete the game. I will wait for the SE to come out as this for me seems very alike the previous games and I am not inclined to pay extra when I do not know what extra I am getting. Having said that try the demo and see what you think but for me I can wait.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worst of the series The paint thing was bizarre. The lines of the same pill that you had to pickup for no good use were plain silly. I am missing something in the gameplay as found it very hard to get gold on many levels. Occupied a few vacant hours

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 12 Labours of Hercules XI, Collections Edition I was very disappointed not to get any bonus levels. I'll have to remember that on their next game.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "Oh Where, Oh Where" Is Our Old Fun Hercules Very mixed feelings on this version of Hercules. Not a fan of the pills and certainly don’t get the reasoning behind having three in a row (all the same) that you have to click on to move forward in the level rather than clicking on them when you need them. Seems like laziness on the part of the developers, rather than put any thought into obstacles let’s just throw pills out there. Not crazy about the little girl and her paintings. Sorry, I just don’t find it as cutezee as they must have meant it to be. At level number 10 I have all gold and then this level seems impossible which brings me to the useless strategy guide. If you buy the CE for the strategy guide you can pass on this CE and wait for the SE. Again laziness on the developer’s part. Rather than write it out so you can read it and work out a strategy you want with the guide as a helper they, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that they need no help from you and instead use annoying blue arrows pointing to what you should do next. So no overview of the whole level just step by step hand holding with a few arrows at a time. Since I will not be using the strategy guide I believe I will wait for the SE if I buy at all. Try it and decide for yourself but I mourn for the old fun Hercules before the developers felt the need to give us the “new and improved versions”.
