Faircroft's Antiques: Home for Christmas is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it The game was straightforward and quick to play. I finished it in a week. I had no glitches, and the sound was great. It is really a very easy game to play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOOD HOG - NO GLITCHES I really enjoyed this game. It is a pretty straight-forward hidden object game with a couple of puzzles per chapter. If that's not your thing, fine, don't buy it. You don't have to leave a bad review about a game just because your likes and dislikes differ from other people's. Just move on to what you do like. Furthermore, I experienced no glitches and I have played it all the way through. The instructions on writing reviews specifically state: "Don't use reviews to report technical issues." As with any game, try before buying so you know if there is an issue with your platform. As for the complaints of too much dialogue, THEY ADDED A SKIP BUTTON as requested after the last game release. Is it too much trouble to just click the skip button?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really enjoyed except for the glitch I loved the different takes on Hidden Object. My only issue was there were mini games that after completion didnt give you puzzle complete and I had to hit the skip button to go any furher.. They were the matching games so I know I did all the matches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun but . . . Glitchy. Several puzzles had to be skipped to advance the game, even once completed. I enjoyed the game overall, but that problem did take away from the game experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Where's the Curser? I really wanted to buy this game and the other Faircroft Antique game because they are exactly what I like in a game. However, both games did not have a curser show up...I could move my mouse around and randomly click, and then I could see where it hit on the screen, which is really NOT that enjoyable, to play that way. But when it came to the minigame it was impossible to play it. I looked in the options to see if there was a custom curser but did not see anything with regards to that. So I am quite disappointed about this. I also agree with others, that the previous Boom Zap games are excellent. This one seemed that way, too, except I don't know how to make it work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from THEY STILL HAVEN'T FIXED THE MINI-GAME GLITCH??!! This is a decent HOG and I would love to buy both games in the series but the glitches in both games are unbearable to deal with. The objects have been blended into the scenery better, they have added an Interactive Inventory Object and Zoom Zone to the HO scenes, and a dialog skip button for those who don't want to read a super-long novel after every scene or mini-game. In the last game, several people complained about not being able to make it past the third HO scene because the 3rd all-seeing eye could not be clicked on, as well as issues with swapping tiles on mini-games. When I saw they had released a second game, I thought surely they have fixed these issues when so many people complained about the same glitches, and they did fix the glitch...sort of!?! They have added a Hint feature that grabs an item for you, to compensate for this glitch, and I didn't have any issues clicking on most of the objects in this SE version (some items have to be clicked on a certain point such as the bottom right or top left to be accepted) BUT...the mini-games were still unfinishable for me personally. The problem is, I love mini-games and I hate having to skip them but that's what I ended up doing with all but 2 mini-games in the demo! The first puzzle requires you to click and drag broken plate fragments into place and I had to click on the pieces 15-20 times to get the game to recognize the click, but I was able to complete it on the CE version. In this SE version, I couldn't click on the last 4 pieces, they just weren't accepted no matter where I clicked on the pieces! The second puzzle was the same kind of puzzle involving mosaic glass pieces, and I was only able to grab 5 shards total, the other 10 or so pieces just wouldn't pick up no matter which ones I clicked on, I even tried doing it in a specific order to no avail, on both versions. The 3rd puzzle was a Square Tile Rotation, I was able to complete it but I would click on a tile 7-8 times before the piece would actually rotate in the CE version, and in the SE version I was able to finish the puzzle but I had to click on one specific corner for each rotation. The 4th puzzle was a Candy Match Identical Pairs game, I was able to grab 3 identical pairs, after that, none of the candy was clickable, therefore not removable and I had to skip that one as well on both versions. The 5th was a Square Tile Swap puzzle that would only swap a few tiles, they could only be swapped to a few specific spaces, places they clearly didn't go in on both versions. There was a saddle puzzle that required using a needle & thread or a cloth to polish, etc. but none of the objects would actually do anything when applied, on both versions. By the time I gave up on this puzzle I was so frustrated with the glitches that it was pointless to waste any more time on the demo. Contrary to my complaints, I happen to love this developer! Boomzap created some of my top all-time favorite HOPA game series, Awakening, Botanica, A Dana Knightstone Novel, Emberwing, and my personal favorite, Otherworld, They also have great HOGs like Antique Road Trip, and a cute game called Frogs In Love. There are only 15 Main Chapters and the CE version has 5 extra Chapters. Each Chapter has 3-4 locations to visit for an HO scene (most scenes are repeated) that has either Listed Item Finds, Riddle Description Finds, or Multiples of the Same Object Finds. Each Chapter also has at least 2 Mini-Game available, the CE version has 10 extra Mini-Games. Did anyone else scratch their head and wonder what the heck dad was referring to when he said "it was better than pooping their shorts on the table" Did he mean they plopped their shorts on the table, did they poop on his table, did they poop their shorts and then throw the shorts on the table? Did I miss something, or misread something here? BTW: I have finally opened my own forum! Join us for game chats and so much more, including my series lists for each game at thewoodsforum.boards.net

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely Scenes So bright and beautiful with vivid color, the graphics are very sharp. I enjoyed what I was able to play in the first game and this one, but I won't consider buying either one because they are too broken. I hope the issues are corrected, it's certainly sad for someone to buy a game only to find it unplayable due to the glitches. I love Boomzap and have nothing but praises for the games I own, where their talents are shining!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible..... Got through the demo, but it wasn't fun. In fact, it was kind of agonizing. Way too much dialogue, which does nothing to enhance the game. I'd say more than half my time was spent reading. I play games to relax -- all this game did was frustrate me!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lacking something for sure! This game has WAY too Much talk/text between levels to click through to get to the game. The game does not seem to have that much content and is confusing in some levels such as the berries at the church. The ornament would not work right several times and so it was difficult to put together and find the berries. The game is not visually crisp and clear in the scenes. Even at $4.98 it was not a value to me but may be to others. Try the demo first and you be the judge. I love hidden object games and Boomzap is awesome most of the time.
