Cooking Trip: New Challenge Collector's Edition is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a fun "Trip" to be on When I read the first review, I was concerned but I love Time Management Games so went ahead and gave it a go. I enjoyed it. I only played a few levels because it was late but I enjoyed the ones I played. Having said that, I usually skip through all the conversations and just play. So far, I enjoy it and will finish the trial and most likely purchase the game. It is no Emily or Flo but I enjoyed it so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good TM (Similar to Bob/Katy) (3 on the storyline because I never read that stuff) It's a good one and yes, it does move quickly but it's not un-manageable. Is it challenging? Sure is but you're able to prep grill items as well as the juice (drinks) so if you've got that set up, the levels should flow nicely. I say similar to the Bob/Katy series because the set up is similar - grill, station where John makes his dishes, juice station and juice slushy station. You've got the level goals (serve 3 menus in a row, pay out 3 customers in a row, etc.) Your little robot buddy is actually helpful - removing items you're cooking from the grill and picking up coins. I'm not sure what else it does, if anything. If you're a TM affectionado and like the Bob/Katy and similar series, I think you'll like this. I'm not sure what the CE offers aside from a walkthru, wallpapers and music (I think).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's not perfect This is a classic Katy & Bob game. Even the music is the same, until I muted it ;) There is a knack to getting Gold in this series. If you've played the aforementioned series, you can follow the same strategy. I do agree with another reviewer that a couple of the colors of the sauces and smoothies are too close in tone for those with tired eyes (I am one of those). The other games had a nice contrast of yellow, red, purple, etc. vs yellow and light green - yikes After playing the demo, I understood about the Robot being "in the way". This was not a good thing. I'm trying to serve the item but the robot gets there first and is holding the thing I need because the Tray Slots only offer 2 places and I've got them filled (hello? time management, therefore prepping what I can ahead of time and placing it in the slots). So not only is one racing the clock, but you're also fighting the Robot who's supposed to be helping. That didn't work out well With all that said, I still would have used a coupon on it had it been a standard offering because I really enjoyed the Katy & Bob games. That is until I read the note about Level 21. I imagine Developers will fix the glitch. I'll wait for the standard edition to see if they do, as along with others, I couldn't find anything that merited a Collector's Edition price tag. With all that said, it really is rather fun (except for the bleeping Robot), just not perfect in execution. Give it a try and see what you think.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Again, too Easy There were a few levels the first time through that were somewhat challenging, but after finishing I went back and knocked those out first try, quite easily. Didn't even have to try very hard to get gold on most of them - Except level 19, which requires 40 customers be served to get Gold, but you can't control how many customers you get - But there IS something wonky there, and if there is a way to get more added to the total, that needs to be in the tips or hints somehow - I've seen screens of other people's game and it shows 35 customers for that level - my game shows 36 - so what's up with that? Otherwise, it's a lot of fun, but quite repetitive, and very easy to get gold. Overall, disappointed. :(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great but not horrible Game started out ok, but like a lot of people said it is just the same thing over and over and over - no matter what kitchen you are in. 2 of the levels you couldn't get the challenge met because the challenge was serve a certain number of customers (which you have no control over how many are on a level) and the level didn't contain enough customers to meet the challenge. I dislike when those things happen because that is just sloppy programming. Other cooking games much more entertaining and fun. - not their best work. So beginning of each kitchen is fun - you get to see the new dishes but halfway through it is just tiresome because it is so repetitive.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay, but not as good as previous games I am not as impressed with this edition to the "Cooking Trip" series as the previous games. I prefer the visual appearance of the 2 earlier games and the changes to the way the game play operates is disappointing. I do not like the way the robot assistant behaves, how you cannot improve John's prep speed which affects achieving the money goals of the levels, and I believe there are still a few bugs in the game, despite the update it had last week. Overall, the game is okay, but I think they released it too soon and changed it too much graphically to consider it a fantastic game!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from glitchy I own just about every cooking time management type game on BigFish and this one is really underwhelming for a collector's edition version. It's frustrating that due to problems with game design, it is impossible to achieve gold on all the levels. I'm particularly stuck on 19... where do i get 40 customers from??? Also spelling errors abound. A bit of a shame really, these games are harder and harder to come by these days :-(

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought this game and now wish I hadn't . after the trail stage I bought it and it is very hard and pretty much the same old challenges to me nothing much new . I did like the last one I bought. but not this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from seems so rushed I have been a member for years. I love these types of games. I have waited months for more cooking games such as this. This game seems rushed and not well thought out. Its also over priced for the amount of game there is. after waiting months for a game i am very disappointed with the game play. when playing this game the money you save from one store to the next disappears the little robot is in the way and there's no real trophy's . again its sad there's so very few cooking games and on top of that no real thought has been put into this one.
